  1. Quick up date, dealer wanted to do a diagnostic check despite me videoing the issue as it happened. Anyway, confirmed it was water pump and without asking offered a goodwill gesture. They advised timing belt was not absolutely necessary but advisable so all in they did it all in for £317. Whilst not something I wanted to spend, I thought it reasonable and have the comfort it was done right, with guarantee and provides peace of mind for the next few years!
  2. Hi folks, Had to look up this post as my November 2013 Octavia vRS estate has started with the intermittent overheat warning. I have 47k on the clock on just over a 4 year old car with complete dealer service since new so seem to be in the right timeframe for this fault. My dealer has confirmed the water pump issue and booked it in for replacement. They discounted this as a goodwill from £350 to £144 but when I queried the timing belt stated it didn't need it? Any thoughts as most suggest one goes with the other and I don't want to have an issue down track!
  3. OK guys that's answered that now where/how do I get it done through a VCDS (????) .....I only speak English and live in Doncaster area??
  4. May be a daft question but in the recent fog I checked all my lights and saw the rear offside has a fog light, but the rear nearside has the same lens and a bulb in it, should I have two or one fog light....apologies in advance for sounding a bit dim (unlike the fog light)!!
  5. Hi folks, this is my first real post so apologies if I'm going over old ground! Just got myself a 2014 vRS Estate with the raised floor. I have a growing German Shepherd puppy and obviously need to protect the boot area. I have seen Titan covers and Boot buddy, but thought I would chuck it out there to see what you guys already use and may recommend. Obviously with the raised floor, I will need access so don't want it to be too difficult, also I am looking at getting a fitted dog guard....other than Skoda's own, any recommendations on this? Thanks
  6. Hi folks, just introducing myself to the forum. I am acquiring my first Skoda on Saturday and really looking forward to it. Gone for the Rio Red Metallic, Octavia Estate in the vRS. It's not new but on a 63 plate with only 14k miles. The previous owner seems to have looked after it and upgraded with some extras. Can't wait to get my hands on it and understanding why people rave about the car!!
