  1. Mines a Lease co car anyway, so maybe they send it to the lease company, they certainly didnt give me any print-out
  2. See my recent post, only a virtual stamp in the book as theyve done away with the hardcopy service record
  3. So, car went for its first service yesterday at 15,000 odd miles, very impressed with the Dealer and the video they sent me of my car being worked on. Anyhow, pick the car up and later thought Id just check to see they stamped the book, and there is nowhere to stamp it? Is this a new idea with it just being held electronically on Skodas system, I dont mind but potential owners in the future might. Any thoughts. PS: Ive just spoken to Skoda and Ive had this answered, apparently anybody will be able to get this info from Skoda in the future, just means that If the car is taken outside of the network it obviously stops.
  4. Dont whatever you do drive with the door open, its loads worse
  5. A mate of mine test rode an Octavia, really liked it but then found out he couldnt get a CD option so ended up getting an Astra which he admits isnt a patch on the Octy but he MUST have a CD player, I dunno some people are funny.
  6. Ive had a 1.6 4x4 Estate since December, I was told the extra weight of the 4x4 system would really blunt the performance but its perfectly fine and to me doesnt feel any slower than my previous Renault which allegedly had 130BHP as opposed to the Octys 110. One thing that I would mention is that I ordered my car with the std 16" wheels as a couple of reviews I read mentioned the 17" option wasnt as composed on badly maintained roads, they were right, I had a demo car with 17" wheels and although they may look a bit flasher the ride is definitely affected
  7. I occasionally get the checking Nav Data when I first turn the car on if Ive turned the car off on the Nav screen, but it has always eventually loaded??
  8. Im now thinking about this whole thing differently, and you know what, vRSAnt may have a very good point here. Im guessing vRSAnt is a biker too? Yes? The word pillion caught my attention. Im off to have a good think about all this. Thanks for prodding my conscience.
  9. Hmmm, but what about those of us who are working. Handsfree and voice text saves me loads of hassle and wasted mileage. A lot of the sites I visit have Strict Mobile phone policies which means they have to be turned off and handed in. It can take a while once its turned back on to get missed calls and voicemails so as Im driving down the road a sudden "Tim are you still on site"? can save a lot of grief.
  10. I have Mk3 Amundsen and Windows phone. If I receive a text I get the option to have the text read to me and then reply if I want, all by voice, but as far as I can tell I cannot just compose new texts and send via voice.
  11. I got a new 1.6 4x4 back in December and have now done 8000 miles. Being the 4x4 its got the 6 speed box. I was worried at first that I might find it really underpowered, but I dont. Very smooth engine and Fuel economy is getting better by the week, at first I was struggling to get high 40's, now high 50's are fairly easy, the non 4x4 should easily better that. Im sure the 2.0l is quicker, but now Ive got used to the engine it does me, its quite revvy for an oil burner.
  12. Hmmm, never happened to me yet, Ive got Amundsen and a Lumia 635 and always use the USB socket. Maybe there is something on your Daughters phone that its trying to read and doesnt like?
  13. I believe apart from VRS only the 4x4 models get the multi-link
  14. Had my 1.6 SE 4x4 Combi 2 months now and done 5000 miles. I think its great, no issues whatsoever so far. I was worried that I might find it underpowered but I dont, my previous Renault was supposedly 130BHP but the Skoda feels quicker? I work a lot around the Brecon Beacons area and we have had some snow but the car feels so planted and safe, It will lose traction but youve got to be pretty daft. Comfort is great as is road noise and ride, I kept with the 16" wheels as most tests said the car rides better with them. Real MPG is a little down on the Renault, Im averaging around 48 but thats mostly hilly A and B roads. Only options I went with was Amundsen Sat Nav which now Im used to I really like, and the variable boot floor which is so handy for me, and the Dogs. All in all very impressed.
