  1. Thanks JR RS, I did try this and this did not work - it seems I have to fill to the brim - not tried this yet - but next time I do, I'll let thispost know. Thanks for responding.
  2. Thanks RobM, so the next question is how does that get reset automatically. You say when you refuel - but I've alreay done that, although I didn't top up the whole tank - just filled it half way. This is leading me to think that I need to fill the tank to thge brim before "Since refuelling" gets reset - If I am right on that, then that option appears to be almost useless, as I almost never fill to brim. Anyway, as you say, I can use "Long Term" and "Since Start" to keep tabs on the consumption. Thanks for your reply. Jay.
  3. Hi All, I've just recently purchased a Superb III 2019 facelift 1.5 SEL. It's a beautiful car and I'm just trying out loads of features - so I may have other questions I can see how to reset the trips for "since start" and "Long Term" - but how do you reset "Since Refuelling" ? I have tried a long press of the wheel when I'm on the "Since Refuelling" but that does nothing - so I'm wondering if there is anything else I need to do Many Thanks.
  4. That's not a bad price David. Long story but I had to replace my front discs & pads - then the rear 12 months later - each time I paid my local trusted garage £500. I have a 2007 Octy, but I'm guessing that the Superb won't be far off the £500 mark - so £560 sounds very reasonable. Get the rears checked, as it could be cheaper to get them done now for a bit extra - instead of what I did paying £500 extra. Hope that helps. Jay.
  5. Thank you for all the responses - and sorry for the late replies- this does help in my decision. Thanks again. Jay
  6. Hi All, I'm looking at purchasing a Superb 69 reg onwards (ie facelift version), in petrol. I was under the impression that a 1.5 petrol would be way more economical than a 2.0. Is anyone driving a 1.5 TSi or a 2.0 TSi and willing to share their fuel economy figures, both in automatic. I've seen HonestJohn website and surprised to see that real mpg figures for a 2.0 is better than 1.5. Most of my drive will be town - with motorway journey of around 500 miles every 2 months. I am not "boy-racer". I like the idea of a 2.0 - as I can look at L&K - otherwise I'll get a 1.5 SEL. Thanks in advance.
  7. OK - brilliant thanks for the explanation - it does make sense now - shame the Skoda Main Dealer salesman didn't know this. Thanks everyone. Jay
  8. Thanks for your replies. So, it seems that I can drive with 3 17 inche wheels and 1 16 inch - as you say, it's only to get you to local garage. I was thinking the balance of the car will be compromised, but if that's not the case, then I'll discount that. I'm not comparing a car with spare wheel or not - I just found it a little strange to have a spare wheel that was smaller than what is on the car. Anyway, thanks for your reponses. Have Fun Jay
  9. Hi, I'm still toying between Ocatavia mk4 and latest Superb - cost of purchase will be a factor. Anyway, I've rung a few main dealers, and one delaer has an Octavia with a spare wheel - it's 16 inches - however, the wheels on the car are 17 inches. I asked the sales guy - how does that work, if I have a flat, how can I have one 16 inch wheel and three 17 inch wheels - he was confused as well as no one had asked that question.....Not sure if that was his way of saying "I have no clue".... Anyway, I thought I'd ask this forum - If the car has 17 inch wheels - does that mean it requires a 17 inch spare wheel as well? - my gut feeling is yes - unless someone can explain how this would work if I ever had flat. Thanks in advance for any replies. Jay,
  10. Hi LukAsk, are you saying that if I decide to look at auto's then stick with the 2.0 instead of 1.4/1.5 ?
  11. I am from the "old school" where auto's were not as economical as a manual, however, I have seen figures and auto's (certainly Skoda) seem to be almost on par with manuals these days. Just wanted to see what the feel out there was - ie should I take the plunge for an auto or stick with manual... The more I read, the more I'm edging towards an auto.
  12. Thank You so much for sharing yiour experience Gax. Sad that Skoda did this to Octavia Mk4 - such a beautiful looking car, but I'm glad you do recommend the Superb, and you've had no issues. I have now definatley ruled out the Octy Mk4. Thanks again.
  13. Hi All, I'm relatively new here, so here goes. I've had an Octy Mk2 2.0 tdi for past 10 years. got 200,000 miles, served me well and now time to move on to another. I've been looking at the new Octy Mk4 - but fellow members are reporting that i'd be "rolling the dice" with the mk4 - as there are too many issues with the infotainment system and issue with Adaptive CC and Lane Assist etc....so I'd be taking my chances... therefore I'd rather not. So I'd like to stay with Skoda as I love them. This bring me onto latest Superb's - the Mk3 has been around for a few years now, so I'm looking for advice. Should I buy one? I'm looking at 1.5 (or 1.4) SEL Exec Petrol - I'd prefer manual, any advice, I like my "toys" in the car as well. Advice I'm after is - Are there any issues I need to be aware of - ie issues with infotainment system, ACC, Lane Assist or other driver convenience items. What about mechanics? What should I be looking out for when I do physically see one? Are there any issue with DSG, as most Superb's I've seen are auto's - ie is an auto worth considering? Any advice is appreciated, as I'm looking to purchase within next 2 months. Many Thanks in advance.
  14. Out of the mk3 and mk4 Octy's ,I think the Mk4 is a way better looking car. Yes I prefer gadgets, but even the L&K model for Mk3 has a load of blank buttons in the centre console, which puts me off... Why have so many blank buttons - even on the top model... Anyway, having read a lot about the issues on Mk4 - ie it's literally "rolling the dice", as another member has already said - then I may steer away from Octy Mk4 - and possibly looking at latest Superb instead - I just need to know how many "real" issues there are for that. Thank you for your responses.
  15. Hi, this is my first post, so please bare with me. I'm looking to purchase a new or nearly new Octavia Mk4 in the UK. Budget is between £20k - £25k. I know I want a 1.5 TSi Petrol Manual in Graphite Grey (hatch not estate). I like the idea of vitrual dash and infotainment (as well as other features) - but I've read over the past few weeks of issues with the infotainment system. I guess the biggest issue is lack of real buttons to switch things, ie AC, Heated seats etc - all of which are accessible via info system - That I can live with, and don't really see that as an issue. Resson for my post is I'd like to know if anyone has this car and experienced any real issues - one of which I read was you are unable to switch the infotainment from KM/h to MP/h - Is this a software bug?- Is there any other "real" issues or bugs in software that we need to know about before I take the plunge? I've had a 2.0 tdi Octy Mk2 for past 10 year and with nearly 200,000 miles, it's time to change, as more and more issues coming up. I love this car, hence wanting to get a new version - only this time a petrol. Thanks - and I have posted this in the wrong forum, please can someone guide me where this should have been posted.
