  1. Surely this is just a coding change though? Didn't different Octavias do different things with lamps and drl's depending on the country setting for illumination?
  2. But you could also argue that there's a benefit to buying into a tried and tested platform as opposed to a brand new model on a very recently launched platform.
  3. not in terms of vfm/spec and they are some way apart on interior accomodation, particularly in the rear of the cabin.
  4. Real shame you didn't go through and stick with Freedom - I put my order in with them last month and they have been great thus far. Great communications via email and a further call today to say... There's no confirmed build date yet but they expect to have that for me by Christmas. Delivery estimate is early to mid March.
  5. Some parts are supposedly real but most is fake afaik. Been the same on Skoda models for many many years.
  6. If its to be leased and the main aim is vfm/most amount of tech and metal for the money Im not convinced it actually has much competition. I've been looking at A6 leases for some time - something along the lines of an A6 SE Ultra 2.0 TDi (the S line's ride is to hard for my liking) and they seem to be around £260-290 for a personal lease over 24 months with about £1500 down. Bearing in mind they are a little tight on the equipment and are essentially a run out model now... for around £119 you can get into a Superb Business SE Estate over the same period and a similar amount down. I think that's an exceptionally strong case. Less than £5,000 for the cost of 2 years ownership on a big comfy, fairly well loaded barge like the Superb is a fantastic deal.
  7. They've swapped the alloys out for a rather naff looking design (imo), they've pulled the silver roof rails (which I really liked).... really hoping they haven't dropped the LED rear lights now!
  8. That's the first time ive read that. Every spec sheet or brochure ive read has said LED rear lights are standard on all Superbs?
  9. So £12355 over 3 years - again, probably beating the depreciation figure if you bought new and intended to keep it for the three years. I looked at spending more on a higher spec version but came to the conclusion that the SE Business was the one to have based mainly on vfm. Paying out less than 5k for the use of a big do it all barge was very appealing to me. The only thing Id really have liked from the higher spec cars was xenons but then I look at how much driving I do at night and the answer is actually, very, very little.
  10. Yes, that's how its been described to me by the local dealer and Freedom. Lease extension could be a viable option if I end up liking the car I guess and it would still be under warranty until the end of year three. I'm also assuming that if the car was to go back at 16k/two years and it wasn't asking for a service, this would be done at their cost after handing the car back! Tyres should also work out to be at their cost as I'll be running my own winters for half the time the car is with me so the OE tyres shouldn't need replacing either! Well, that's the hope anyway!
  11. You have the choice to keep a lease car at the end of the period?!
  12. wasnt that Skoda deal set to 7.2p per excess mile also? The Freedom deal was by far the cheapest I could find after three weeks of looking. Previous to this it was Simpsons Skoda that were cheapest at £149 per month with £1990 up front. If you are comparing business deals then the Freedom deal is £99 x23 for the Superb SE Business... That's CHEAP! They have deals from 8k per annum up to very high annual mileages. Personally, I'll probably struggle to do the 16k over two years so it suits me well and if I manage to do more, it's cheap enough to pay off the mileage balance.
  13. Driven a 190 DSG estate and a 150 manual hatch. The difference was most noticeable in fifth and sixth but overall I thought there would be more of a gap between them. It's actually the additional torque rather than power that makes that bit more usable.
  14. http://www.freedomcontracts.com/car-leasing/ From £99 per month but I had to go with £119 per month due to it being a personal purchase (not a business one) - cheapest I could find by around £30 per month. Be aware that any options are fully paid for throughout the lease period so I didn't get carried away.
  15. I specified mine with Canton and no other options as I like my audio (it has metallic as standard, probably to help residuals) but I wasn't prepared to add anything else due to costs - in estate form I think it's just over 24.6k. They sent me an option to do 'return to invoice gap cover for the two years' and on that paperwork I noticed they stated their purchase price as £19,000 - not sure how accurate that is but I guess it's right? Thanks for the explanations guys.
