  1. Having driven a superb courtesy car on 18 Inch wheels as opposed to my 19's I did notice a vastly different ride on the individual ride settings, comfort on my car is like normal on the one with 18's normal is like sport, and when I set it to sport my 19 Inc wheeled breaks you're teeth, very wheel sensitive.
  2. Would have been great if the dcc had five rather than three settings as I'm always looking for something in the middle of comfort/normal for motorway use and normal/sport for general use, perhaps it will be tweaked in the face lifted 2017 model.kevin.
  3. I was merely replying to Nazmi question as to where I got the badges from, supaskoda at the grand cost of a tenner, hardly think a tsi badge shouts wow,the twin pipes do that, just prefer to have the tsi badge instead of the skoda one,it is after all the engine it has.i agree with the over use of logos,in fact the ones on my seats are poorly embossed, passenger seat one especially,it's all most unreadable and looks naff.love the car though.kevin.
  4. I had a couple of teething problems with mine, sat navigation surround ,weak washers and a rattly exhaust, was touching a heat shield, all quickly repaired and has been faultless and a dream to own since the first month ,being one year and 15000 miles old it's an early build car I'm happy with that, maybe I was lucky,or is it a few were unlucky!had an audi a8 3.0 that was built 5 years after introduction and was plagued with faults and that was 60k new, luck of the draw.kevin.
  5. Bought both badges from supaskoda.look good to me.took off the old badges and replaced with the new,to me that's how skoda should have done it in the first place.kevin
  6. Got the badge from supaskoda and the 4x4 one,tsi badge has the site in red and the 4x4,the x is in red.like them.
  7. My 280 is one year old today,I'm still loving her,love the q car stealth Ness,just want to say if you're thinking about one,just do it,you won't regret it,and that's a promise!!
  8. Still makes me turn around and have another look, marmite colour, but I love it.one year,15000 miles and no itchy feet.one he'll of a motor!
  9. Go 19's if budget allows, very good ride even with that diameter wheel, far more comfy than bm/merc/audis ive had in the past, and they look great, its a big car, needs big wheels.kevin.
  10. The main reason why i painted the bottom of the tailgate was i stupidly opened the electric tailgate and it hit the open garage door causing an area of about 6 x 6 square inches of damaged paint, tried t-cut etc to no avail, began as an experiment as i have allready had the tailgate repaired due to a large supermarket trolly ding,in reality it does look the part and have had nothing but favourable comments.i may keep it like it now,but could easily have it repainted jungle green in the future. P.s you would loved to have seen my face when i was fumbling around trying to stop that blasted electric tailgate from hitting the garage door, was about a second late, damage was done, air was blue!! Just dont tell anyone what i done!!!! Kevin.
  11. Was a wee bit bland at the back, had the bottom part of the tailgate sprayed matt black,a silver pin stripe and some new badges from supaskoda, thinks it looks great, what do you think.kevin.
  12. Picked up my 280 this morning, had oil change service,100 miles overdue when i dropped it off with a mileage of 9150,cost 174.00 and was cleaned inside and out to a high standard.was expecting it to go a little futher than that before the first service was due,but hay ho!! Kevin.
  13. On the subject of eco mode, have tried this, put my all into driving with a light foot, using the coasting system, nearly fell asleep, and got about 2 mpg more.never again.drive in normal mode, sometimes sport/paddles,enjoy and smile.eco mode isnt for the 280,using eco drive mode is like owning a three legged greyhound!! Kevin.
  14. 8800 miles, long term ave of 31.8,i drive in normal, sometimes use the paddles and sport, dont hang about,i love driving, thats why i bought a 280,and today on my 48 mile drive home i achieved 36.6 mpg,39 mies of motorway at 75 mph, then nine miles of country roads,a new best for me.the worst i ever see was 27 mpg driving like a lunatic when i was late for work.nick,23 mpg,i think you have a problem!! Kevin.
  15. As it was 12.30 am i was able to take a quick picture of my average fuel consumption on my way to work, about 13 miles inti my journey, warmer weather helps for sure.its a record for me,any body else with the 280 bettered that? You will have to zoom in chaps!! Kevin.
  16. Upsetting when someone damages youre pride and joy, someone has put a lovely ding on my tailgate, god knows how they have done it,high up,but boy does it give me the hump!! Kevin.
  17. Sorry guv,i will try harder with my punctuation,i didnt do to well at school, but i havent done to bad since i left and started work. The thread was more to share with the guys and girls on this forum that as a brand, skoda has a strong following all over the world, and it brings a smug smile that i bought my superb, and not a merc/audi/bmw to join my mini cooper, volvo V40 and the summer triumph stag,as the canarian cab drivers have, as somebody else said, not that long ago it was all mercs ferrying people around over in gran canaria, now skoda is the main brand, heres hoping that the superb111 combi i see,has a long hard working life in the sun.good advertisement for them.kevin.
  18. Had my 280 L&K 6 months, and see my first combi today, gran canaria, was in the canarian taxi colours of white with red roof and looked bloody lovely, taxi drivers love there skoda's here, they are everwhere, some have huge mileage on them as ive witnesed.good to see.perhaps gizmo wont remove my post as he did the previous one,its shoved in the octavia 111 section.it might not be of interest to you, might be to others,i am part of the club gizmo.kevin and the clan.
  19. An octavia, thread started cos i was amazed to see a skoda 111 combi doing its runs, havent even seen one in the uk yet,and ive had mine six months.must say,she looked rather rakish in its white with red roof colours.smart car.
  20. Yes lucky me,soaking up the rays in the canaries, lots of skoda taxi's kicking about, including a mark 111 superb combi, didnt take long!! A canarian taxi driver when asked by us if he liked the octavia he was driving us in replied,i wouldnt drive any thing else, and promptly showed us the odometer, chin hit the floor, over 500k!! So if any of you have youre doubts about buying a skoda, just ask a canarian cab driver!! Back to the vino.kevin and the crew.
  21. No noise to report from front or back.sat nav surround STILL creaking and driving me mad after two attempted repairs by dealer though! Piano black trim they call it,sounds the buisiness, ive seen the trim when they had removed it,about 1 mm thick, should think it cost about a pound to produce, poor show skoda, crap black plastic for the L&K,much nicer alloy for SEL,wheres the logic in that, hows about a nice bit of real wood like the new volvos have! Sorry for moving off the threads subject!! Kevin.
  22. How you can call the 280 slow is beyond me,ive gone from an octavia vrs mark 3 tsi to my 280 and the superb is much quicker,a work mate drives a golf R and as we work nights we often have a bit of fun on the empty roads to work when our paths cross and he has great difficulty in shaking me off, much to my delight.was it in eco mode? Not all 100% with the one you drove mechanicly? Ive had audi A8's 2.5 s Bmw Z4'the octy tsi, chrysler 300C,a 325i bmw and the 280 blows my socks off every time i plant my foot, most rapid car ive ever owned, every one who travels in it are gob smacked at the speed, all motoring reviews start off with the words'the ultimate q car'.its even made the top 10 ultimate q cars ever made, and hampshire police,im told by a police friend, have ordered 6 280 estates.0-62 in 5.8,thats 0-60 in 5.6,slow!! If you drive in a normal manner its whisper quite, want fun, bury the pedal, lovely sporty growl.each to there own,you buy a car that suits you sir,but the 280 slow, well, any day you fancy a burn up,youre more than welcome, just hope you dont allready have a wooden spoon.
