  1. Thank you! Yeah, I've noticed a slight discoloration of the reflector straight above the LED. We haven't had more than +5°C here since I put them in though, so will have to see what happens when we get summer here. On a side note: the LEDs I put in didn't match the fogs, they were all too blue, so I bought a new pair that matches the fogs a lot better and the car now looks heaps better! This might only be apparent when locking/unlocking the car (the only time when fogs and parking lights are the only lights on), but the devil is in the details so!
  2. Thanks for the tips! Hard to diagnose these though. I've had the wheel removed and pulled/pushed/hit everything I could get to, and nothing moved an inch. But it seems most likely that it is something in that area... Any ideas as to how to diagnose?
  3. Yes, first thought was that it sounded like the exhaust rattling. But I hoisted the car, removed the plastic belly pan, and the exhaust was rock solid and no rocks on the tray.
  4. I noticed a week or two ago a slight rattling sound from underneath while going over bumps and uneven surfaces, and since then I feel like it has gotten slightly louder and more frequent. Have jacked the car up three times to try and find the culprit, but to no avail... It is really hard to tell exactly where it is coming from, but it seems to be coming from the front, and more prone to sound from the right side. It is also not just when going over big bumps, if I drive on a cobble road there are slight "klonk-klon-klon-klonks". They aren't that loud either, running the fan on 5-6 will drown them out, the same goes with there stereo. But still. It is there, it shouldn't be there, I can't figure it out and it bugs the hell out of me! Any ideas what this could be?
  5. Nice interior! Like previous posters, I like the leather! Glad to see you chedked out my camera test, will be interesting to see how you go by installing an OEM camera!
  6. Will be doing this myself on my car, on which the discs have rusted away too... Curious as to what winding tool you've purchased for the pistons? I've seen several different models for sale.
  7. Gave the car a thorough wash tonight, and at the same time I decided to fit the plastic "shim" my buddy had 3D-printed for me and my rear view camera. Now, the camera sits at an almost perfect angle! I would like to see even a little less of the bumper, but it's nearly spot on. I think I'll be happy with this. If you were to draw a rectangle around the car, touching the edges of the sides and the front and back bumper, the corners of the rectangle are pretty much exactly where the lower corners of what my camera sees. So even though I initially thought it wasn't such a wide angle, it indeed is! It really shows you what is behind your car.
  8. Unfortunately no. It was just something I picked up at the local store in Finland. The color is supposed to be "Audi Felgensilber Metallic", aka. L1H7. http://encycolorpedia.com/c4c7c7 This isn't what I got though. The guy in the shop claimed that all metallic silver rims are the same color, and even though I didn't believe him, they did look very similar and they are very close so. Who knows. For filler I just used some two component metal filler.
  9. Let me think... I've got: Spotify for my music Tune In Radio for internet radio iGo Navigation for navigation (shipped with the stereo) Yokee karaoke (think I ended up with that one) for letting passengers do some karaoke Angry Birds (for when sitting in the car waiting for something) I think that's about all I use on my stereo. If you need a good free navigation app, Nokia Here is really good and also has offline maps! What stereo do you have?
  10. I did 2 of my own wheels during the winter holidays. One was quite badly scuffed, so that one I repainted entirely. Here are some pics of before, during, and after. On the after-shot, one of the wheels is the one I fixed and the other is an original. I'm quite happy with the results, it didn't end up perfect but not bad for about 25£ spent! Will have to see how well the paint fares over time...
  11. Aside from being busy polishing my headlights and fog lights on my christmas vacation, I did a few other things... Two of my rims were a bit scuffed, one in particular. So I tried to refurbish them myself! Bought some good filler, tried to find some matching spray paint and some clear coat, took out my sanding papers and started sanding... Here is what the wheel looked like after sanding and filling was done. Now it was time to paint. After 4 or 5 coats of paint, this is what the wheel looked like. And here is the result. One of these wheels is the one I fixed, and the other is stock. Can you tell which is which? There is a bit of a difference in the paint job up close, mostly because the surface got all "prickly" after the last coat of paint. Didn't have time to wet sand it before I put on the clear coat, so I could probably have done a better job if I'd have had more time... Still, I'm quite happy with the result. It looks a lot better than before, and didn't cost me more than about 20£ or so. Will have to see how the paint job fares over time, maybe I'll have to respray them sometime but, that'll be a later problem. At the same time as I was doing the wheels, I also finally installed my rear view camera. Trying to route the cable discreetly was the biggest problem, other than that it went like a breeze! Here is the camera: And here is what I see: Unfortunately, the camera is angled a bit too far down for my taste. I don't need to see my entire rear bumper! Luckily though, I have a friend with a 3D-printer, so I modeled up two different "spacers" in solidworks and had him print them for me. Haven't had the time to try them out yet, will report back when they are in place! Overall, I'm very happy with the results. Even in the dark I get a good picture (will post one later), the only thing I would like is more wide-angle to see more to the sides! But hey, for the price of 13£, I won't complain!
  12. Sorry, but I can't find any of what I need listed in your previous post! So I asked my dealer and they said it was part of the headlight and couldn't be ordered separately. I couldn't believe that for a second, so I contacted SkodaParts.com and asked them. They managed to show me the parts fiche for the headlight, but that wasn't very helpful. At least the bolt is on there, but the plastic part isn't... Then I got an idea, the plastic part could be part of the chassis! Found this great website, http://vagfans.info/EN/skoda/CZ/SUP/Superb/2011/632 where I can sit down and find what I need for myself, since people working with this stuff don't seem to be able to help... Lurking around, I found that the plastic part is actually called "Setting bracket" and has the number: 3T0806221 The bolt itself is a "Hex collared bolt" and has the number: N90999502 Will contact my dealer and see if they can get me these parts.
  13. That looks really nice! How much did you pay for the refurbish?
  14. I'm about to do the 120'000 km service on my Superb. This includes engine oil+filter, pollen filter and some "checks", and when checking around with the authorized dealers, the most expensive was the official Skoda store who wanted 5500 SEK (about 440£) and the cheapest wanted 2850 SEK (about 230 £). I talked to the Skoda store and told them of the other prices I had gotten, and asked if they wanted to match their prices, but they didn't seem too interested in servicing my car. Too bad for them, I'll happily go somewhere else!
  15. Thanks for the replies! Had looked at that thread about the repair kit, but image googling the numbers don't give the part I need, rather the "ears" for the housing! Am I mistaken?
