Thanks Guys I seem to have sorted it, quite how I'm unsure. My default channel was Sky news but I decided to change to other preset channels in the unit, to start with I got the same grey fussy image with the no signal symbol still displayed. After a short while the picture & sound returned and works fine, except sky news that is !!

Hi Guys Any thoughts on the following? The TV function in my car does not appear to be obtaining any signal. I have tried moving location by 30 odd miles but all I seem to get is the grey fuzzy screen at worst, along with the muted volume and no / weak signal symbols top left of the screen. At times a get the blank screen with muted volume signal but then it defaults to the above. I have checked connections on both the hybrid TV unit in the boot and the unit in the dash, all seem OK. The car is the Combi so I assume from the forum that the reception is picked up from the rear side glass antenna. Would VAGCOM Or VCDS find any faults with either unit ? Many Thanks.

My 2012 L&K suffered badly with this problem. After doing lots of research on the subject it would appear the sunroof needs a regular service which includes cleaning the seals, roof rails and linkage. The rails should be lubricated by special VAG sunroof grease. Now this is where things get interesting ! The same roof is also fitted into the Audi Q5 depending on the model spec, and guess what, they have the same problem with rattles. The main difference is Audi dealers are required to have a special service tool that is used to apply the special grease, this tool distributes the lubricant out of a number of delivery holes into the roof rails and at differing angles. Using the grease and brushing it into the rail and linkage made hardly any difference to my rattles as Skoda & VW dealers are not required to stock this special tool as part of the mandatory service tools held as part of the dealership requirements. The tool and the grease can be purchased, it is used in what looks like a form of mastic gun. I took mine to the local Audi dealer who greased it all up. I cleaned the seals and coated them with some silicone spray , cycled the roof a few times and have had no rattles since. Both VW, Audi & Skoda have VAG service bulletins regarding roof rattles.

Hi I have a had a horrible creaking in my Combi L&K for months, it's drove me mad because the cabin is so quiet and I spent most of my journey time just waiting for the creak.. I was sure it was from inside the care and not a suspension issue. I tried the following: Seat back & door catch lubrication with proper white VAG grease. Adjusted (With a hammer blow) the rear seat latch brackets. Removed the load space retractable cover. Re-torqued the load space retaining rail fixings, they were all very loose. Spare wheel checked for security. Adjusted rear tailgate latch & rubber buffers on body. Removed all tailgate trim checked for loose clips & wiring etc and lubricated lock mechanism behind plastic cover. Sprayed lubricant between plastic trim in load area as an experiment . Plus a lot more I think I have forgotten about ! Solution = Grease the whole of the pan roof sliding mechanism and glass roof brackets with VAG grease, I used the door paste but they do a special grease for the roof. It took a while and I used a small wooden stick you get in an ice cream to get the grease paste into rails. Result = total silence Hope this helps.

6 Speed DSG has clutches that run in oil, as stated with foot on brake the drive is disengaged. My car does creep quite nicely on a flat road but does need throttle input on any gradient. The only real criticism from me is the box is reluctant to drop back into 1st gear unless the car has almost come to a rest, which causes slip if on a gradient. I just knock selector to the left which engages 1st then back into 'D' when the cars at a speed associated with 2nd depending on road conditions etc.

Hi all Does the park assist only get you into space once it has found a suitable one, and not get you back out of it when your ready to leave ? Thanks Neil
