  1. Thanks George. I will have a look at those questions when we get back. The mechanic is just a local guy who specialises in VAG and bills himself more on the performance side of things. He mentioned the need for DSG oil change but didn't have correct oil in so recommended we do it in November when mot due. Also said spark plugs are due but are still in decent nic so worth waiting. Don't know if any changes done on software. The other bits and pieces I need to check the log. I know he changed rear wiper blade, and maybe the air filter I think. Will check later. I bought a year full warranty from skoda in Jan/Feb based on engine concerns. I don't know what work has been done on it regarding injectors etc. I can't see anything in the log book about that. I think it might be worth me going to skoda main dealer in Leicester instead of to this local guy. Not sure what the pressure sensor is LGM, wife had to take the car in. It came up as faulty on the computer. Cost £50 plus another £70 labour. I'm not sure how legit this is. Certainly didn't sort out the issue! When I phoned him he said they didn't have time to do further investigation (which is fair enough as I phoned that morning to see if he could have a look because of long car journey coming up). Thinking I should have just gone main dealer to begin with.
  2. Had first service of my vrs about 10 days ago (overdue by about 1000). Since then it's been stuttering. So put back in on Monday and they found a pressure sensor fault that they replaced. Still stuttering. It's very specifically between around 17-1900rpm. It's fine above 2000 and below. But as most of the gear changes occur around this range it's pretty noticeable. I am driving 150 miles tonight to go on holiday and have it booked in on Tuesday when I'm back. Little bit concerned I'm going to do damage doing that distance (twice) before it gets seen. I'm a total novice so no clue. Any ideas? Forgot to say done approx 55k
  3. Seems fine on the recall side of things. I will be sure to contact customer services and find out what they know. Thanks for your help and suggestions—I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to cars. Thanks. Yeah, it will have MOT sorted. Picking up Thursday.
  4. That's all component cover, zero excess and >15K miles. Here's the car in question: http://www.availablecar.com/used-skoda/fabia_estate-1.4-tsi-vrs-5dr-dsg/259152 Good point about the 30 days returns.
  5. Thanks, just had a look at the link from another post and it's about £384 for the year, so will probably go down that route.
  6. I have just put down a deposit on a vRS today with a car supermarket and am being offered the extended warranty through the The Warranty Group. I have read a lot of the engine issues on here in the last couple of hours so I am thinking of going down a 3 year extended warranty (only get 3 months as standard from the shop). The engine is a CAVE type and car has done just over 40K. I don't know of any engine replacements in its history. Does anyone know how easy it might be to have any engine issues (replacement or the oil jet replacement) sorted through a non-Skoda warranty provider? Probably should have looked into it a bit more before buying, but really enjoyed the test drive! Cheers in advance.
