  1. We have had the car for 5 years, bought from a skoda dealer. we had some immediate problems, air conditioning faulty, then the oil saga, after two visits to the garage they decided that my usage of oil was exceptable. A few months after that the car went in to limp mode and immediately diagnosed as needing complete mechatronics replacement which cost more than £2000. We was not happy at all and took the matter up with customer services, who thought a free service would be adequate compensation. We have had many problems with this car since, absolutely the worst car we have ever had.
  2. my 9 year old automatic dsg yeti has always used a litre of oil every 1000 miles, can anyone match that?
  3. This car is without doubt the worst I've ever had. It is a 2010 Yeti which had 20000 on the clock when I bought it 2 years ago. Let's start at the beginning, aircon failure, and then in the garage for excessive oil consumption a litre every 1500 miles was by their standards expected, back in again for a second opinion, this time they found a leak from the oil sump, remedied but made no difference to the heavy oil consumption. Moving on, the car suddenly goes into limp mode,. On inspection the car needs a megatronic unit replaced and clutch. back on the road again oil consumption get's suddenly worse. So back to the skoda dealers again and low and behold they have found another oil leak coming from the oil breather, and now we have just picked up the car again to be told that on inspection the the fuel pump is cracked and needs replacing together with the timing chain. the total bill so far after this is repaired will be in excess of £4000. we are a retired couple and thought we had made the right choice, however their doesn't seem to be a way out of this mess, so we will reluctantly have to continue forking out.
  4. Thank you for all your help, it has given us a platform to work from.
  5. The service campaign was carried out, the car is sitting in the skoda yard at present, so I will check the boot for this sticker. This is the email I have just received from skoda regarding their diagnosis. Customer’s complaint – Engine management light coming on, also noticed gear change not to be a smooth as it should be, Technician Diagnosis – We carried out a guided fault finding test (diagnostic test) to confirm why the EML is coming on, we can confirm the fault stored in the memory was fault code P175 which indicates clutch 1 opens unintentionally, after carrying out test plans, we have identified that the problem is caused by the Mechatronics unit which is a component that controls the workings of the internal parts inside the DSG gear box, We have also made you aware of a possible clutch fault which we cannot be 100% certain until the Mechatronic unit has been installed and all the settings of the gearbox have been set up correctly.
  6. Yes the car was recalled in July 2014 for that reason as confirmed by skoda.
  7. This warning light came on, and then immediately went in to limp mode. after a diagnostics test skoda have informed me I need a new computer part costing 1900 pound, and if that's not bad enough they say it shows a problem in the clutch area that my cost another thousand pound, they will know for sure once the computer has been replaced. My car is a 2010 1.2 yeti dsg with 37000 miles on the clock, naturally I'm outraged by this so I would like to hear from anyone who's had a similar problem, I'd like to establish whether this is a rare case before tackling skoda about the cost.
