Aircon System
Hello all, My Superb is 12+ years old and it appears to show. About a week ago my aircon system (climatcontrol) stopped working. The compressor doesn't kick in! The garage investigated that gas pressure is sufficient and compressor is OK. The failure is in the "climatcontrol box" under the dashboard! It has to be replaced and is a costly business, GBP 1000+! I am 82 years old and just spending thousends on my teeth! Havn't got 1000+ for the car! Question: Is it possible to bypass the climatcontrol system and to modify the control(s) to permit ON/OFF control of the compressor? Has anybody had similar or same problems with the aircon system on the Superb and how did it pan out? Any reply is very much appresiated, thank you in advance! Best Regards, walterhein

heater blower motor
I have been driving my Superb since 01.2012 from new! Done 207000km! The interior blower of the climatcontrol system failed in April24, although all lights were on etc. cost estimates by Skoda to investigate and repair the climatcontrol started from €950 for Skoda parts to €650 for parts from Internet! own investigations on this site and other Skoda forums pointed to an easy DIY blower motor change. in the end I bought a complete blower including attached control circuitry on the internet for €110! being 82 and having to lay backwards under the dashboard imitating Houdini to take the old blower out and to put the new one in proved impossible! by luck I found a garage and a knowledgeable mechanic who took the old one out and fitted the new blower all within fifteen minutes! after turning the ignition key the blower started blowing which confirmed it was a faulty blower and not any other failed electronic circuitry of the climatcontrol! the blower stopped working after 12 years because of failed bearing(s)! with 82 I will not buy another car and quite frankly, I wouldn’t know of any UNCOMPLICATED car to purchase! They have become nightmares and Financial Desasters to most car owners!

heater blower motor
Meanwhile I have bought a blower unit via AUTODOC and it was installed two days ago by a car mechanic because I am too old doing it myself and lying backwards before the front passenger seat under the dashboard! Anyway, it took 10 minutes taking out the old unit and putting a new one in. There was no need to remove the glove compartment! The old blower had a seized upper bearing but is free again after a good application of WD40! Best Regards, walterhein

heater blower motor
Hello, I am in the process of replacing the internal blower for my Superb II L&K, 125kw, Climatronic, solar sunroof, etc The 2013 upgrade did not affect the internal blower unit. The OEM no. is 3C2820015F, but I also found 1K2820015F being quoted! I don’t know why and what the difference between the two is! Regards, walterhein

Exchanging Internal Blower Unit
Hello, Is it of advantage to remove the glove compartment when accessing the blower unit in order to remove the latter. Being of 80+ I am unable any longer to bend like Houdini! Furthermore, do I turn the blower unit anti clockwise to unseat it? Much obliged for any comments! Regards, walterhein

Low coolant question
Slow Coolant Loss! At long last the slow coolant loss of my Superb II appears to have been cured! On 8th June 22 the EGR has been replaced and ever since and 2000 miles later the coolant loss has stopped! What a reliev! Have a good summer and drive SKODA, don't fly!

Bump Stops
Hi Snapper1725 and J.R., Thank you for your replies which made clear to me what they are and the purpose served. I am not geared out to change them myself, so a SKODA garage will change both in the rear! Best wishes, Walterhein

Bump Stops
Hi everyone, Just been told by the SKODA garage that both the rear Bump Stops of my Superb II (110.000 miles) are broken and need replacing. What are the bump stops and how critical is a repacement? Is it a difficult job for access etc.? Many thanks in advance for any reply! Kind Regards, Walterhein

Low coolant question
Hi, I am driving with a slow leak since July2019 and 17.000 miles. The main water pump and cam belt were changed in March2019 and 5000 miles previous, because of a slow leak!!! Nevertheless, the electronic water pump you are mentioning, would that be the one for the DSG and called V178 Secondary Water Pump? Thanks in advance for a reply! Regards, walterhein
