Slow Coolant Loss! At long last the slow coolant loss of my Superb II appears to have been cured! On 8th June 22 the EGR has been replaced and ever since and 2000 miles later the coolant loss has stopped! What a reliev! Have a good summer and drive SKODA, don't fly!

Hi Snapper1725 and J.R., Thank you for your replies which made clear to me what they are and the purpose served. I am not geared out to change them myself, so a SKODA garage will change both in the rear! Best wishes, Walterhein

Hi everyone, Just been told by the SKODA garage that both the rear Bump Stops of my Superb II (110.000 miles) are broken and need replacing. What are the bump stops and how critical is a repacement? Is it a difficult job for access etc.? Many thanks in advance for any reply! Kind Regards, Walterhein

Hi, I am driving with a slow leak since July2019 and 17.000 miles. The main water pump and cam belt were changed in March2019 and 5000 miles previous, because of a slow leak!!! Nevertheless, the electronic water pump you are mentioning, would that be the one for the DSG and called V178 Secondary Water Pump? Thanks in advance for a reply! Regards, walterhein

Hi DEL80Y, very kind to let me know those details. Will be well prepared now when seeing the dealership tomorrow! Will report me experience in due course! walterhein

Hi DEL80Y, thanks for yr reply! Indeed, it is a DSG. Wasn't aware there is a dedicated thermostat for DSG! yr hint of insufficient bleeding of the cooling system is very valuable, thanks!

Hi SuperbTWM, Thanks for the reply. The water pump had been changed because of a slow leak. The workshop will look at the car tomorrow, saying the thermostat may be faulty. Strange this should occur at the time when the pump was changed. Anyway, will put the outcome up on the forum! Regards, walterhein

Hi, had the water pump on my Superb Diesel changed a week ago. Since then the coolant temp indicator moves between 80 and 90grdC depending on load. Before change of pump, for the last 80000 miles since new, the indicator moved to 90grdC and stayed at this temperature at any load. does anyone have an opinion on this? thanks for any reply! walterhein

Hi everyone, the Exhaust System Warning light is permanently ON on my Diesel Superb. The car has had the fix a good year ago and the engine behaved strangely at times. The Exhaust System Warning light came ON at odd times and went again. This time it is permanently on over a longer period. The SKODA garage now tells me that the glow plugs need to be changed!? I find this a bit odd. What is the connection of the Glow Plugs with the Exhaust System? The glow plug warning light never came ON! Has someone experienced similar business? I would be much obliged if someone could shed some light on this; thanks! Regards, walterhein

Particulate filter problems after emissions recall
walterhein replied to Jonathon1's topic in Skoda Yeti
Hi Ryeman, Thanks for your reply! Have to look into this EGR cooler valve etc. What I have overlooked to mention in my earlier contribution is that I noticed very often a smell of burned rubber after parking the car. Couldn't make heads or tails of it but this must be connected with the EGR system. Hence, after the fix, the new software must "dictate" higher temperatures for regeneration/cleaning!?
