  1. Thanks for your help guys I will look at the etka catalog and try and figure out the correct spring. Yeah I know it seems strange to post on a Skoda forum, but a lot of the Fabia parts are shared on the polo platform hence why I asked. In the past people have been pretty helpful with previous issues I have had with my car on this forum so I thought I would try.
  2. Hi all, I am having trouble finding the correct part numbers for the front suspension on a 2006 mk4 polo 9n3 1.4 TDI 80bhp engine code BNV. Looking online there are 2 different shock absorbers shown on skoda parts website. 6Q0413031BH and JZW413031G. The springs shown online are for the VRS 6Q0411105AF, would this be suitable for the smaller diesel engines? Also looked at workshop manuals online for the front suspension part numbers but doesn't list them unfortunately. I'm looking to replace everything. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Calum
  3. Cheers Dazza. I'll have a look through the thread and get the service done!
  4. Hi all, I am planning on my first DIY service, I have most of the necessary tools and a set of ramps. I will get the oil and filters from TPS or online, depending where is cheapest. The car is 9 years old and nearly at 100k miles. It has been regularly serviced, other than the normal oil and filter changes it has had the following replaced: cambelt at 60k miles, fuel filter at 90k miles. I replaced both drop links and tie rod ends 3 months ago as they were shot. Brake fluid again was replaced 3 months ago, and the coolant was changed 2 weeks ago when I replaced my expansion tank. From looking at the service history the gearbox oil doesn't look like it has been replaced recently. How regular should this be changed? I'm planning on replacing the oil, oil filter, new sump plug, air filter, cabin filter with the exception of the fuel filter. Apart from inspecting discs + pads, suspension components, bushes etc is there anything else that I should be looking out for/replacing? Any help will be much appreciated
  5. Update - I replaced the expansion tank a couple of days ago, and so far seems to have solved the problem. Thanks for everyone's advice and help.
  6. I have just replaced my expansion tank as I had the same problem, coolant light does not flash on anymore. Replacing the tank should sort the problem. Here is a useful guide for replacing this. http://myquickfix.co.uk/2011/10/skoda-fabia-vrs-temperature-beep-expansion-tank-replacement/
  7. Thanks Lee! Stupid question, I presume I will need to order the level sensor separately, as the expansion tanks I have looked at online don't seem to come with this?
  8. Hi Wino, Many thanks for your help! I have scanned the car and there are no load signal faults now. I got the air con re gassed at the garage using the automatic machines and it now seems to be ok. When I ran measuring blocks when the high pressure fault appeared it was showing 0 bar, but now it is showing 5 bar so I think I didn't re gas it properly oops!. However recently, when it has been cold I've been getting the low coolant warning symbol flashing and beeping. Thing is, it's wrong as I have checked and there is plenty of coolant, as it's between the min and max mark. Once the car has idled for 10sec or so, I turn off the engine, restart it, and the coolant light does not appear. Is this a simple fix of getting a new coolant level sensor?
  9. Ok thanks for this, I will have a look when it's not dark.
  10. Thanks for your help! Once the undertray was off, the connector was easy to spot using the pictures. As you rightly said two wires had broken off the connector, so I spliced in two fresh bits of wire and wrapped them well in insulating tape as I couldn't use the connector. Not had a chance to scan the car again so hopefully this has fixed the problem. I couldn't find the g65 sensor for the air con but I will have another look. You don't happen to have any pictures of where the sensor is located?
  11. Hi Wino, Thanks for your quick reply and suggestion. I will have a look at the connector when I have time at the weekend and see if any wires are broken. I scanned the car before the re-gas, cleared the codes then re-gassed the system then scanned it again and the same faults appeared.
  12. Hi Guys, I'm new to the forum and hoping someone can help. I previously posted my faults on the polo forum however people don't seem that helpful on there so trying here. I have a polo 1.4 tdi 9n3 which has developed a problem with the air con and has other faults too. From reading on here it may be that I have a dodgy connector which is giving the low load signal problem. As for the air con I have regassed it but it still doesn't work. Here is a copy of my vcds scan. Cheers Calum Address 01: Engine Labels: Redir Fail!
