  1. Hi Joe, ive know you’ve been in touch but thought I would say hi here also and welcome you along. 4x4 be ideal round Cumbria with some of the weather you get up there! 😀 there is a lot of folk on here with good knowledge so I’m sure you’ll be right! thanks Simon.
  2. No worries. Thanks for getting back to me but mine are the same so I’ll leave it for the time being.
  3. Are the front wiper arms (pair) in good condition ie not flaking, bubbling, rust etc? If so, how much would these be posted please? thanks Simon.
  4. I’ll have a look at the nav settings cheers. The gps did however appear to have found itself when I drove earlier today. The Mrs drove it after me and said it didn’t work? I’ll have to have another go. The gps aerial is stuck to the round metal bar behind the dash. Yeah, I bought a mic and fitted it in the space in the interior light.
  5. Hello, I’ve recently bought the Mrs Monte Carlo tdi, which I’m pretty impressed with to be honest. Anyway, im after a bit of advice after fitting an RNS 315. The version I have bought off ebay has Bluetooth and and dab. I've installed the radio, microphone and gps aerial (both new from eBay). Not bothered with dab aerial at the moment. The green plug on the microphone wouldn’t fit in the quad block so I removed the green plug and managed to get this to fit and placed the gps aerial behind the upper glove box. The car has MFD but nothing has yet been coding via vcds. I was just looking at obdeleven but the iOS version is out of stock but that’s a different subject! The advice I’m looking for is: 1. the Bluetooth works fine for streaming music and making calls and I can hear the caller through the speakers. However, the caller can not hear me talking. I’ve removed the plug on the quad block and turned this around, just in case I installed it wrong, but this still did not work? Is is this a coding issue or could it be a faulty mic? Or might this be something else? 2. The nav / gps does not appear to have located itself and this is showing the location of the car which it originally ate out of. again is this a coding issue or could it be faulty aerial. I have read on the forum that someone had the same problem with the aerial and they replaced with a new one and this worked fine. Or might this be something else. I appreciate that this has probably been covered plenty of times before but any advice on resolving these issues would be appreciated. thanks Simon.
  6. Just wondering if you guys could help me out! im looking at getting the Mrs a Monte Carlo 1.6 tdi. I want to get the tech model however, from looking around there not as common as the standard monte Carlo. I was mainly looking at the tech due to the head unit having phone and sat nav. My my question is what are the major differences between the two and could I just get a second hand headset from the likes of eBay and stick it in and would it work properly? any info you guys can provide would be great. Thanks Simon.
  7. Yeah it’s still for sale. I’ll pm you my number so you can contact me if you fancy coming to look at it. Thanks.
  8. Price reduced to £1300. None of the spares are included at the price though.
  9. I have some colour coded roof bars that will come with the car. I have some pictures so I will dig them out.
  10. Thanks guys. Ive really enjoyed having it and really gutted it’s got to go. I got to a few unphased meets.
  11. For sale is my 2002 mk1 Skoda Octavia Elegance estate 4x4 1.8 20v Petrol Turbo. Being an Elegance this has full electrics; windows, tilt and slide sunroof, electric heated mirrors as well as headlight washers. The car has recently been MOT’d and has two keys. I have owned this car for the last 3 years and it’s been a great car, I will be truly gutted to see it go but a new job has forced me to buy a more practical car for my needs. It’s been great in the sun, rain and snow. The car came with no history so before I started driving it I had a full service, haldex oil and filter, cam belt and tensioner kit and water pump. When I got the car it had 94,000 miles (cam belt and service). Since then it was serviced (oil, filter and fuel filter) at 103303 miles and 117,000 miles (although I have misplayed the receipt for this particular service). It now has 119,000 and the next service is due at 127,000. The car was totally standard when I got it and I have modified it over the years using OEM VRS and aftermarket parts to how it stands now. Modifications are as follows: VRS front bumper VRS steering wheel VRS gear knob and gaiter VRS Stereo, heater surround - the ash try spring is broke but I have a spare ashtray Front and rear leather seats from an Audi A3 Quattro. The front seats are exactly the same shape and style as mk4 Golf Recaro’s. The only difference is that they don’t have the Recaro embossed on the seat or adjustable lumber support. However the do have under seat draws which the Recaro’s don’t. 18 BBS LM reps - I had these professionally sand blasted and powder coated and new bolts installed. Unfortunately these have met a few curbs since powder coated so they are chipped in places. Tyres all have good tread on them. AP shocks and springs, 40mm front and 30mm rears -this improved handled massively however although it should be lower and the front there is some reverse rake going on. I was planning on some smaller springs and 10mm top mounts. Stance + adjustable rose jointed drop links Stance + adjustable rear tie arms ECS tuning cold air induction setup Bailey recirculation valve Team hero wind deflectors Various blue forge silicone hoses Rear anti roll bar from mk1 Audi TT Quattro Lupe Gti wiper arms and blades Metal pressed number plates Autohaus number plate surrounds In addition to the above modifications I also have a good amount of spares to go with the car. These are as follows; Original front bumper Original suspension - although one rear spring is broken. Seat leon Cupra R front splitter VRS front bumper in black VRS estate rear bumper bumper in black - this has reverse sensors and I have the original reverse sensor module and loom to connect the the bumper VRS estate boot spoiler in black - this will need a small amount of fabrication to make fit due to brake light VRS Stereo surround/centre console/ashtray O/s and n/s mirrors in same colour Silicone turbo intake pipe Full set of black silicone hoses 2 boost gauges - 1 x digital and 1 x analogue - also have various hoses and pillar mount pod although this is carbon effect Headlights Rear lights Seat belts Door seals Boot seal Boot gas struts Boot roller cover / parcel shelf Boot carpet - although this is from a 2wd versions so the spare wheel is 8n a different location Spare drivers wind deflector Various switches 2 x tyres with legal tread Front and rear 312 brake setup from mk1 Audi TT Quattro. 32mm Front anti roll bar from mk1 Audi TT Quattro Front upper strut brace from mk1 Audi TT Quattro Coil packs - these are red ones which I think are from the later 2.0 turbo I probably have a few other bits which I have forgot to mention. The only thing which lets the car down is the bodywork. It’s not bad buts it’s not mint either. There are various chips around the body and some very nice person keyed the n/s of the car. I bought a fairly abrasive polishing compound to try and get this out but never got round to it. There is a small dent on the n/s quarter which would come out via dent removal and hasn’t cracked the paint. There is paint lose on the boot under the wiper, which is fairly normal for the mk1 estate from what I can tell. The engine management light is on, I checked this on a code checker and this came up as either the TIP or ‘Y’ shaped breather pipe. I’ve changed the breather but not cot round to the TIP, which I have the spare silicone one. I am looking for £1700 for the car with all the above spares. Or £1300 with none of the above spares. I also have Seat Leon mk1 brembo front callipers and carriers which I was intending on installing but never got round to it. Theses can be bought with the car for an extra £300.00 I have another car sorted so no swaps / part ex’s are required, thanks. The car car is located in Preston close to M65 junction 1, M6 junctions 28/29 and M61 junction 9. If anybody would like any further details please pm me. Thanks.
  12. One of the reasons I like mine is because it doesn't look that exciting from the outside but it's got all the goodies under it! Some of the things you have done to yours are what I would like to do to mine but it's just getting round to it! Out of interest what suspension are you running? The 4x4 is bit of an oddball from what I have found! I want to upgrade my arb's but not sure what to get? I think standard R32. I've got 312 front calipers to go on just waiting for some rears to come up. I want to get mine mapped. The ones you have going free, what's the score in applying them and are there any other associated parts I would need? Cheers Si.
  13. There is someone breaking a Leon cupra with the pro race 1.2s on a local forum I go on. Bit far from you but could maybe post! http://forum.un-phased.co.uk/index.php?topic=17702.0
  14. No worries. I think it's similar to the VRS. I popped in to Venom Motorsport and managed to get some Stance+ adjustable ones for a decent enough price. Just waiting on the suspension.
  15. Hi, As stated in the title, I have a mk1 octavia 4x4 turbo estate. I have just purchased some AP shocks and springs which will apprantly lower the car by 40mm on the front and 30mm on the rear. I'm happy with these heights before anyone starts mentioning coilovers! My question is to do with the front dropkinks. Do I require shortened or adjustable ones. Shortened ones I can find from the likes of venom but I'm thinking adjustable is the way to go? Looking on eBay though there is nit much mention of the 4x4 variant apart from some very expensive ones. Can I get VRS, TT, R32 etc. adjustable ones or does it have to be 4x4 only? Any help would be wonderful! Cheers Si.
  16. Is this an estate? If so: How much for rear bumper and exhaust back box? where are you based and would you post parts?
  17. No worries. Cheers for getting back to me.
  18. Hi, How much for the rear bumper and spoiler posted please. Thanks.
  19. Hi, Would you post the front bumper and if so how much for the bumper posted? Thanks.
  20. Hi, Would you take £45 delivered? If so I will take it but can't sort out until Thursday as I'm away until then? Cheers Si.
  21. Righto cheers. I need estate ones.
  22. Is this for an estate with roof bars or hatch? Cheers.
  23. Hi Mark, If and when you get back in touch as I was first to enquirer about the bumper I would be greatful for first refusal. Thanks.
