  1. Yeah, Cyprus for three years. Might have a look for a new tax free one before i return back to the UK. But with the discounts from brokers in this country at the moment, and the fact it wouldn't be an import, I'll just have to wait and see at the time. In the mean time if you know anyone wanting to buy a Superb in Scotland, that's only been run in. Give me a shout. Cheers Guys
  2. Post 6 would be correct. Lol. The allowances arnt as good as they used to be unfortunately. There is only one bad thing about this move and that's giving up the car. I actually really love this car. By far the best one I've had yet. It's one of the buy any car companies that are offering the best price so far. Means losing about a grand though. Waiting on dealer hopefully coming back with a better price.
  3. Spoke to Skoda Finance and car can only be taken out the country for max 60 days per year. Also PCP contract ends 3 months before we're due back in the UK. Can't transfer finance contract to anyone either.
  4. Has anyone had to sell theirs yet. Unfortunately mine has to go already. My job is kindly sending me overseas for 3 years which was completely unexpected and I don't have a choice really. Car is a PCP deal for 3.5 years, so I have my settlement quote, just wondered if anyone else has had to sell and did you loose much?
  5. +1 for the rubber tunnel cover. With three kids in the back one of them always has their feet on the tunnel area. This part always got the most wear in other cars. It is especiall good with the rear rubber mats as this hold the tunnel cover in place pretty solid.
  6. Not sure if it was just my dealer but when I enquired he said if you order 17" wheels on the SEL then you get the spare wheel included at no extra cost as you are going down a level from the standard spec. I ended up with 18" in the end so not sure if what he said was accurate.
  7. It's not a heated screen, so no issue there. I had phoned the number on my insurance website for windscreens and it automatically went through to autoglass as there authorised repairer. If I went through dealer I don't know if insurance would cover it. Time to get the policy docs out.
  8. Cheers for that. I will try and get through to Skoda tomorrow. Autoglass is booked for Tuesday so will try and get an answer before then.
  9. My 8yo helps wash my old '03 focus and understands 2BM now and if he drops the Mit at all he has to tell me. When it comes to the new superb though the closest he gets is the pressure wash to wet and rinse it. To be honest though, he only really joins in to use the pressure washer anyway.
  10. Morning all. First real journey in the new car 400 mile trip to in laws and a lorry flicked a stone onto the windscreen after 3 miles. Checked the measurements and it's too big to repair so autoglass will be replacing my windscreen on Tuesday. Autoglass are saying I will have to get the camera behind rear view mirror recalibrated which is not included. This is because of having ACC. Now I thought the ACC radar was in the middle of the front grill and wouldn't be affected. Also the rain sensor on the windscreen doesn't need recalibration. I don't have TSR or Lane Assist. I do have Front Assist which is standard; is this camera located behind the rear view mirror. Thanks all.
  11. I have my SEL for a few weeks now and if i could change/add anything it would be to add the LED Package. As jstallan said above, with the satnav screen displayed it shows what the speed limit is for the area anyway. It may not be as pricise as the TSR, but it works. Last week i would have said heated front screen as i had had enough of defrosting it 4 mornings in a row, but hopefully we're coming to the end of that now for a while.
  12. Love the DVD player. Some of my kids clubs are 15 minutes away and only last an hour. Not worth driving home to turn around and go back out again so now I sit and watch a DVD. Currently watching Elysium over 3 days.
  13. BillyJim your a star, the guide works great. Cheers
  14. Euro Car Parts 15% off and free delivery TX15ZG http://www.eurocarparts.com Just got Sonax BSD for £5.94 delivered.
  15. I never specced the colour maxidot, and cant see any issue with it. I think it depends on what your coming from. If you've had it before you will probably miss it. I didnt, and dont. The money went towards the front parking sensors, which on a 4.8m long car IMO are much more worth while.
  16. The hose from amazon that you linked is the one that came as standard on the Nilfisk Titan i just bought. It is a good solid hose and will not 'kink' but it will not lie straight. Due to the type of material used it has a 'memory', so if you always keep it coiled when not in use you will struggle to get it to lie straight. If you have room to keep it straight or very loosely coiled it should be fine.
  17. I uploaded photos of my quartz grey with Modus wheels into the picture thread if you look in there
  18. I was up for a bargain there but nearly a fiver postage for a small bottle of snow foam (2nd class post) seems a little pricey. Thought I'd add another couple products to make it worth while but the only option then is next day for just under £10.
  19. Having never done any kind of detailing I got some advice from DetailingWorld and the styling and car care briskoda page. 2 Bucket Wash with Meguiars Rinse and dry to see what it was like. Used a fallout remover and that took a fair bit of crap off the paint Never clayed a car so tried the farecla clay Mit. Really good product and made the paintwork ultra smooth (also quicker than a clay bar). It didn't really need a polish as the paintwork was already good but I'd bought some Auto Finesse Triple which is a really nice all in one and a good base coat for a wax. Took advice from all over for a wax and ended up with the FK1000P. Really easy to put on and wipe off. (It was this or the carlack sealant, thought I'd try a wax first). Same wax on the wheels too. I rarely have much time to spend on the car so I was going with the idea of a little extra now should make a fortnightly wash a bit easier. The wax should be good for three months but I do have some meguiars quik wax (really easy spray) to top it up after a wash. And to finish it off some Auto Finesse crystal on the glass. This is a first for me as all previous cars used to go through the car wash.
  20. Cheers for the help guys. Car is looking ace today. Got myself a pressure washer too which made things easier.
  21. Much better now it's had a real clean. Wash, clay, polish and wax. Loving the quartz grey.
  22. Im in same position with SWMBO being short. Ive now set the key memory so the seat moves to the position stored in whichever key was use to open the door. (Obviously i claimed the nice chrome tipped key  )
  23. If the engine is switched off and driver door open then its press and let go. Any other situation you have to press and hold the memory position until seat has finished moving to that position. There is a table in the manual showing the different situations.
  24. Nice one, pleased it's on its way. Collected mine tonight and love it. Only got to drive half way back from Inverness, SWMBO was itching for a go too.
