  1. I've had my 2.0 4x4 estate for 18 months and 24k miles and never had an issue with ASR. I would get Skoda to take a look. With regards to fuel consumption the tank is only 50 litres but when full my maxidot shows around 525 miles range and my current long term average is over 49mpg. That's on a mix of country road & motorway/dual carriageway driving.
  2. Not sure if anyone is aware of this offer http://www.am-online.com/news/car-manufacturer-news/2017/01/11/skoda-launches-0-finance-event-to-boost-winter-sales
  3. Columbus gives you a bigger screen with 3D nav (3D images for 'selected cities' although I havn't been to one yet to see the benefit). It does have 64GB hard disk so you can store and database your music and it also includes a CD player (which also plays DVD's so you can get the benefit of the 5:1 surround on the Canton). The disk also stores the nav info so you have 2 available SD card slots for music etc. Colour maxidot is also part of the Columbus option. According to the brochure it also has integrated WiFi but never tried it. Whether or not you can do a straight swap with Amunsden I dont think you can but I stand to be corrected on that one
  4. Bought mine as ex demonstrator so had lot of options I wouldn't have necessarily bought if I was paying for them separately. But of the ones I do have: Electric boot - never had one before and wouldn't have bought it but now I have it I wonder how I ever lived without one. However as previous poster said it would be nice if it could be closed remotely Variable boot floor - excellent Heated screen - every car should have one (had this years ago in various Fords) Spare Wheel - every car should have one of these too Canton sound system - despite some posters not liking it I think it sounds excellent but is a bit pricey at £500 Columbus Nav - nice to have but wouldn't pay a grand for it!
  5. http://www.am-online.com/news/market-insight/2016/07/15/jd-power-puts-skoda-top-of-the-reliability-charts Good to know
  6. Glad you posted the pictures of your L&K - it's somewhat cleaner than mine is at the moment! Interesting - you have black roof rails, is that standard on L&K? Although mine was a demonstrator with various options I thought the silver roof rails were standard. I actually think the black roof rails look good against the cappuccino.
  7. oops - I mean cappuccino beige - champagne beige was several cars ago!
  8. Like many others I was initially put off by the pictures of the brown interior almost to the point that I didn't even go for a test drive but mine came up as an ex demonstrator with loads of extras at a very reasonable price so I took the plunge and immediately found that the brown interior was much better in real life than any images. Having lived with it for over 6 months now I think it is much nicer than the standard black that my past several cars came with and that many of my colleagues have in their new cars. My estate is in champagne beige which is also a good combination with the interior.
  9. Hi Been here for a couple of months but this is my first post as well as the car being my first Skoda. Had my L&K 4x4 2.0TDI estate since September and done about 9k miles so far and am well pleased with it. Previous car was VW Tiguan. Likes - interior (yes even the chocolate brown which is far better than in any photos), Canton sound system (Tiguan audio was poor), electric drivers seat is infinitely adjustable and comfortable and memory means I don't have to fiddle with it for ages to get back to where it was, heated seats, electric boot (bought car as demonstrator so was included, I wouldn't have spec'd it myself but now I don't know how I ever managed without it). Grumbles - Road noise but I suspect it is the tyres - I replaced the tyres on the Tiguan for MOT just before I changed it but as I knew it was going so opted for budget ones which changed the Tiguan from quiet cruiser to noisy traveller in an instant. Will carefully consider tyres when they are due for change. Small fuel tank is bit of a nuisance. Would I buy another one - I've never had the same car twice before but this could break the mould although early days yet. Retirement and lower mileage beckon in around 5 years so think the next one will be petrol although the way things are going diesel will be as bad as smoking by then!
