Yeah, I was noticing the TC light more and more when giving it some in the wet/damp. Let’s hope the rest cures it! I’ll find out the next time it’s damp- couldn’t make it do it in the dry today and I could before! Thanks for today Rusty- you’re a gent.

That’s very kind of you, thanks!

It’s a 2015 2.0 tdi 170 4x4, but it’s build date is sept 2014. I’ve also got a 2011 fabia vrs, so I’m thinking it’ll be handy to have vcds! I’m just finding it rather confusing as there’s lots of great info out there, as well as lots of rubbish.
-
Well after doing my oil change and pump clean out I’m suspecting I need the thing resetting with vcds- I’m getting the traction control light flashing away, yes when giving it some in damp corners. For anyone who’s got vcds, where did you get it from? I don’t want to get secondhand fleabay kit as I want to make sure it’s right.

Yes, each to their own but I wanted to avoid any complications so I replaced them. There are lots of other videos on YouTube that advocate changing them and others that don't. I decided to play it safe.
-
Indeed, the problem is that the fill bolt is on a vertical serface. I don’t see any reason as to why the bolts can’t be reused, they’re not stretch bolts and aren’t torqued up highly at all. However, you should replace the two rubber o-rings on refitting the pump. The bolts came with the two o-rings in a service kit from TPS. However, I believe the o-rings are 42mm I/D and 2.5mm thick. The bolts and seals cost £15!!!!!! That’s not including the oil. So next time I’ll be reusing the existing bolts and getting o-rings elsewhere. But I wanted the job done properly and time was of the essence.

Ken, it’s a nice and easy job- but I did have use of an inspection pit! I watched a few YouTube videos of people doing the service on mk5 Golf R32 as they’re the same 4x4 system- some of the videos waffle on a bit, but they helped me. I bought the oil and oil pump seals from my local TPS shop. 1x 850ml bottle and 2x rubber o-rings as well and 2x new pump bolts. I buy an oil fill thingy from screwfix that helped with refilling it.

I’ll second that lot! Bought my 4x4 Yeti last month and having read up on the haldex system and the main dealer claiming they’d service it. i thought I’d check it out myself- the oil had been changed but the pump housing was chocked with sludge. The car only had 36k on the clock too, I’m just glad I did this myself. On another note I am sure vag group incompetance with service items is a scam to make stuff fail, then lead to big repair bills. I’ve got a mk2 fabia vrs and when enquiring with a main dealer as to what their service interval was for the fuel filter- the service staff couldn’t understand why I asked them ‘are you for real’ when they told me it was a ‘lifetime’ filter!!! That along with haldex service incompetence smacks of wanting things to fail on purpose. It’s a good job I don’t believe a thing that the main stealers says. Anyway, if you guys are handy with a spanner and have a 4x4 yeti/haldex motor- check the pump filter/housing before it gets expensive!

Thanks mate, panic over! You’ve saved me a lot of aggro there. Cheers!

There you go then, thank you for clarifying the issue with the spare. I shall be returning my Yeti to the main dealer from whence it came as my spare is a 195/60/16. I cannot believe they’d sell me a car with a non type approved spare size. Your information will prove to be very useful to me, they don’t have a leg to stand on now. All hail the power of internet information! As regards to the space saver, I did think it was a option when ordering from new. One does indeed live and learn. Thank you!

Guys, it seems odd to me since buying a yeti and moving from a fabia vrs that the fabia forum people offer friendly help and advice and with the yeti it seems opinions get spouted about but no real help offered. Please prove my assumptions wrong. Can I ask what is the ‘real safe and legal’ spare wheel for our cars? I’ve got a full size spare, but what is the correct space saver to use? Or are all space savers illegal to use on a yeti? If the latter is correct, how come the following is being sold to the public? https://www.thewheelshop.co.uk/skoda-yeti-17-space-saver-spare-wheel.html Thank you in advance.

Fabia VRS Mk2 Brake Upgrade Golf R32?

The easiest upgrade is the 312mm- search the forums mate. There’s loads of info on them -
Fabia VRS Mk2 Brake Upgrade Golf R32?
mac26 replied to NewsJustin's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
Mk4 r32’s fit with r32 hoses, mk5 won’t. My standard vrs wheels would not fit without spacers, but I used brand new discs and pads. The inside of the vrs wheel spokes sat against the callipers! Fitted team dynamics pro race 3’s in the end as I don’t like using spacers. -
Out of interest- is anyone/ has anyone ran an oil catch tank on the breather system of a mk2 vrs? My motor is still using oil after it's fixes, not massively so. But I run an oil separator and catch tank on my 80's Escort RS which catches any blow by vapour- I'm contemplating bunging a catch tank inline with my vrs's breather recirc feed and wondering if anyone else has done this before? Cheers!

Mk2 Fabia VRS - what exhaust??
mac26 replied to little jack's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
It was £450 including a new front flexi on the cat pipe. Sounds the way the car should have done in the first place! -
Mk2 Fabia VRS - what exhaust??
mac26 replied to little jack's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
I've just had this custom made one fitted, Powerflow 2.5" cat-back system. Made by 'the exhaust doctor' in Newcastle. Sounds great and certainly seems to pick up quicker, but that's probably all in my head! -
Thought so, thanks! Don't suppose you know anyone in the north east with any for sale....

Alright boys- just to muddy the waters...... would I be right in thinking that to do a 256mm rear conversion I'd need both calipers and carriers off a mk1 Octavia vrs? Just with that conversion it uses vented rear discs and will presumeably need a deeper caliper than the stock mk2 Fabia vrs solid disc caliper? or am I wrong!? If I can use my exiting rear calipers with octy carriers/discs and pads that'll be a bonus! cheers!

HID tutorial (quick install guide)
mac26 replied to Polluxtroy69's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
I've changed the bulbs a couple of times so yes, it's rather tight! Just a bit apprehensive on the legalities of running hid's and which ones to get as there's that many! if any I'd just go for 35 watt 4300k as that's what my old mondeo had as factory fit and they were stonking! -

Brilliant write up! I'm feeling brave with mine now -
Haha, yeah it's the tram-line special! The brakes are 334mm golf r32. I got sick of having to run spacers to clear the caliper/spokes, so bit the bullet and got a set of team dynamics pro race 3's. The clearance is a hell of a lot better now! The car literally does a handstand when you slam anchor!

I think my pressure is down a bit..........
