update so after driving and doing test at a few places. The consensus is that their is a leak on one of the cylinders .Because diesel is still getting into the oil , after being drained and changed etc. So my next step is going to be a new to me engine. I have done over 500 miles since the first repair the smoke has calmed down a bit but is still white and smells of diesel and the car is using way more fuel. I have sent almost double what I normally do in a week doing the same long journeys etc. It smokes more when accelerating.

ok the diesel was in the engine, iam going to another garage now, i want to say hanks for all your advice. I think i may need a new engine because it is making noise and things but I am gonna get other opinions before i spend .

the garage changed oil and filter. apparently they moved the oil from the engine??? so the oil tank was contaminated. iam thinking next port of call is a leak test to be sure, i just dont want to waste money, i do love and want to keep the car. I just dont want to waste money if it is dead, but also dont want to change a new car. So i was thinking a leak test?

yes it is, so what is my best bet now? go for a leak test? pd 160000 mile full service and all things changed when they should have been.

update. ok so all four injectors change, tank was contaminated. The faulty injector i was told was on cyclinder 4, however the garage have advised me to drive the car and the smoke...which is still there along with a misfire, may disappear after 500 miles, because they removed 10l of diesel and oil from the oil...tank. There was never any black smoke, just white, theres still white with a not so potent smell. I have driven about 300 miles so far and i aint really seen much different seems to be a white smoke cloud wherever i drive and its worse when im waiting at lights etc. They have also advised that they could be a cyclinder rod that is bent on cyclinder 4 and that it could be hydrallic? Can anyone advise what i should do next, i have already made them aware that I am not happy with certain things but they said its all part of the diagnostic process.

Thank you for both replies. I racked my brains about ten days ago as this happened yesterday. On cold start I noticed some white smoke coming out exhaust. It lasted for like say ten seconds and car was fine until this. Ran fine. Was serviced in December and mot was 15 of March and I trust the garage . The garage I have taken it too ...is not my usual. And I was baffled when he said all injectors but only a bar pressure fault code using their machine. There was no warning lights when driving.? Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk

Skoda Octavia 2005 tdi 1.9 diesel OK so last night . I just got off a 20 mile motorway journey. The car started to appear to be accelerating when I was pressing the break. I pulled over and black smoke. Another road user said he thinks it's the turbo. When the rac man came he thought fuel injector as he heard a misfire. Anyway it was tied to a garage . I phoned this morning and they said it was all 4 injectors that will need to be replaced and a harness. Quoting £2031to fix. They said the only code that came up on the diagnostic machine was bar gauge. They said they only use injectors from Skoda direct. I phoned another mechanic and he said rwhy would all four injectors need replacing and the harness. Only because the reading was high on the machine doesn't mean all of them are below par? So would injectors show up on diagnostic machine? I do have a warranty but will have to see what they say Monday. The other mechanic is saying at the worse mine can be refurbed or I can get recognition Ones. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
