  1. hi all windows work along with wipers lights etc. only thing that doesnt in that area is the car does not unlock remotely, but it does lock and the boot unlocks remotely. just unlocking which doesnt work, this also set the alarm of in the car unless i turn ignition. but i guess this is an unrelated issue.
  2. i imagine this isnt something an electrical novice could do? im hopeless with electronics lol. as for the wiring diagram is this something a haynes manual will help with? cheers
  3. Afternoon Ladies and Gents, back with another problem (shock) this time it appears to an electrical issue. i recently had a new boost pressure solenoid put on my car and the wiring on it worked on after the getting the fault codes p2425, p2426, p2427 and P0047 on my 170CR VRS octavia. all was fixed and 125 quid later the car was sorted. happy days. now my car is in limp mode again with the following codes: P0047 - Turbo/Super Charger Boost Control Solenoid Circuit Low P0047p P2080 - EGT Sensor Circ Performance Bank 1 Sensor 1 P2080p (EML and glow plug light flashing) car is also blowing fuse 23 the second it gets put into the slot. ive does this with 4 fuses. regardless weather the engine is running or if the ignition is on. clearly something is shorting out but the garage i took it to said it might be the loom? and it needs to go to a proper auto electrician. so i took it to one who after explaining my issue promptly said its too big a job and will take days to diagnose he told me to take it to skoda. im in two minds to do this because 1: my cars remapped 2: the cars DPF has been "deleted" and egr has been blanked and mapped out and 3: my cars is involved with the emissions scandal and god nows what skoda will do when they see what ive done to my car in regard to their new software updates ETC.. anyway... any one got any ideas on how to make some progress or experienced similar themselves? i understand that the codes its throwing up can be common however i haven't seen them linked to blowing fuses. any info would be great or you are more than welcome to just point and laugh as well. cheers all.
  4. hi guys sorry for taking so long getting back to everyone. long story short i took the car elsewhere for a test while i waited there. the first time they did the smoke test it failed but the next time they were much kinder with the revving and it passed easily... make of that as you will... car passed with 1 minor so happy ending after many sleepless nights and many bottles of redex. the cars been carbon cleaned and now produces much less smoke so hopefully when its MOTd before its sold i wont have any issues. the cars going soon as im still having exspensive problems with it roughly going to the garage monthly for electrical problems but thats a topic for another day... thanks to everyone who offered their knowledge
  5. it has crossed my mind to get a new dpf fitted and coded ETC but I predict this cost to be outrageous? the garage is aware its been modified but it is passing the visual DPF inspection. its off somewhere new today and im going to see what happens maybe ill ask really nicely if they can somehow not put the smoke meter in as far or something if that is even possible haha thanks for all the feedback
  6. air filter looks fine, is there a way I can test to see it is still in good condition?
  7. thanks for all of the info everyone. as for results I never got any from the garage just "its no where near mate smoke all over" ill see If I can get them from them tomorrow. im going to another garage over the weekend and I will update the this thread when I have some results. ill ask them about the injectors as well.
  8. thanks for the info I will look into BG244 and the 6400D. as for the Italian tune up i think I've tried that plenty of times lol
  9. I purchased the car already modified, I was only aware the car was remapped and until I spoke with shark on the phone asking about the map, starting to think it was a bad idea buying the car already modified. and since then the garage I went too has changed ownership I am however thinking of returning and hoping the garage staff are still there.
  10. thanks for the Reply Rustynuts, when I got the car MOT'd last year the car passed. it has been modified this way since I owned the vehicle. sorry I should of made this clear.
  11. hi all, forgive me if I am posting in the wrong area ETC. so Its time for my MOT on my 2009 VRS diesel CR170 and I simply cant get it to pass. since owning it (1 year 4 months) I have had to replace... throttle actuator, egr valve, abs unit and I've needed a new turbo 3 months ago! it keeps failing the Smoke test and im at my wits end trying to figure out why, my garage has no clue and even suggested going somewhere else?! it was last there for 3 days in which they claimed they've cleaned everything and was close to taking all of my intercooler of and cleaning that out before I stopped them, at one point they wanted to replace my injectors which made me stop the whole operation and just wait before I really commit to something that might not even solve the issue. my next step would maybe be a carbon cleaning service? can anyone vouch for these services in regard ? as for my car it has a stage one shark performance remap and a DPF delete (still passes MOT) would these be causing more smoke that usual? after I got my turbo replaced I actually thought my car smoked less! and the first mot it had last year it passed fine. the amount of REDEX and like for like fuel additives and sprays through the air box I've added to my car is unbelievable and still no progress on the reduction of smoke. the car drives fine, it pulls hard revs freely I have absolutely no problems with the performance I only thought the smoke that comes out when you gave it a boot full was normal, it doesn't seem to be any more or less than any other car on the road. would taking it for a blast before a while you wait test help my situation out? any questions please ask away ill try my best to answer id like to think im not completely clueless about cars and stuff. thanks in advance -Todd
  12. hi guys tried using the search bar but nothing much has matched my problem. has my 170cr vrs for nearly a year now and its been pretty trouble free apart from a new egr valve and throttle actuator about 6 months ago. until a few weeks ago i was on the motorway and went to overtake and the poke that is usually there was absent. eventually the engine management light and glow plug light came on with the following codes : p2099 p2099 p the codes are for under boost and fuel system too rich i think? if i go anywhere near the throttle aggressively plumes of black smoke comes out and i only really start shifting past 3000rpm. the smoke is enough for other motorists to slow down! up to 2000 revs there is no smoke but the car is very sluggish its defiantly in limp mode. the turbo seems to spooling up fine and there are no audible boost leaks but it just isn't 'pushing' the car along? i dumped a can of MAF/EGR engine cleaner in it the other day and still no improvement. if its any help my car has been remapped by shark performance and has had its DPF deleted, i have had no problems with the map. can anybody point me in the right direction or perhaps let me know if they have had this problem before? thanks in advance! - Todd
