  1. Cheers buddy - Frustrating as the sale slipped a week due to abs pump and airbag problems....now this. Hope it gets sorted.
  2. Thanks simbo99 - I've got the car booked in for 8:30 so hopefully it will be sorted by 9 - I'm knackered if it isn't!!
  3. Also just spoken to another Skoda garage who have said they can hook the car up and get the code straight away (well a 20 min job) - does that sound right?
  4. OK, so had some work done on my car and the Sat Nav unit is now asking for the code. I don't have a card with it on (not given at time of purchase). The Skoda garage requested the code on Wednesday (however they do) and today asked for the car back to get the serial number of the Nav unit as they can't get the code without this. As I'm selling the car the tomorrow (already pushed back the sale a week) is there anyway to get the code instantly? I really need to get this sorted as I about to lose the sale of the car. Thanks
  5. I currently have this fault.....car is a Petrol Vrs and is 3 years 8 months old (24k miles). Skoda have offered to pay 60% - though I'm not particularly happy given that the garage I have taken it to have just got 100% of the cost paid on 2 VW cars of similar cars. I know some Seat owners are getting the full 100% paid as well. It's a known fault!! Given I've had a Superb, Fabia and Octavia as 3 of my last cars, I not masively impressed and when the car is sold on Friday, I won't be buying a another Skoda anytime soon. Shame really as I fancied a Yeti
  6. Thanks all for taking the time to reply - will pop out to the car and have a play. wega3k - yep, pressing the switch just gives the MFD and setup options now, nothing for audio or Nav (it did before) Atty - will try this, didn't know that was an option so ta. dstev2000 - thanks (and thanks for the prompt re the code! Will let you all know how I get on
  7. Any ideas on this would be appreciated - looked in the owners manual and I'm either blind or there is nothing in there for this. I have factory fitted nav. Problem 1 Radio and navigation is turned off when the ignition is started - always used to fire up automatically. I have not adjusted anything. Any idea how to get it to turn on automatically? Problem 2 I have lost the navigation view in the maxidot display. It only shows mpg etc and won't display anything navigation related. Again, I have not altered anything. Navigation in itself is working fine. How do I get this back working? Thanks for any help or suggestions.
  8. Hi Timmyboy - no, I have not found another car yet and will probably trade in for ease. Johnwg - I would love the car to be worth more but hard to compare a px price with a straight sale. How can you tell what you would have got the new car for? Not meaning to talk down the price of the car btw
  9. Is it overpriced? I'm starting to consider selling mine and thought I would get 7k at best.....Petrol VRs, 20k miles FSSH, Factory Nav, 18" alloys, rear parking sensors, black, new tyres 500 miles ago and full MOT.
  10. And a gold star to you!! Breakdown people came (good service BTW) and it was indeed a stone trapped as per above. Cheers
  11. Thanks for the ideas - the noise is heard on flat ground when the car is only just rolling (tis jus like a bit of metal dragging on the ground). Sounds really loud but definately nothing touching the ground. Could the heat shield be fouling something given the realtively low speeds etc? Cheers PS I will post up what it actually was once the dealers have had a look!
  12. Any help on this would be appreciated. Wife was driving the car (Petrol VRS) and all was OK. Drove over a bump - minor one which we drive over every day. Car started making a scraping metallic noise from under the car (sounds like its coming from the middle of the car) - like the exhaust had fallen off and was scraping on the floor. It hasn't by the way I have driven it forwards and backwards (not turning the steering wheel) and the noise doesn't start upon setting off but you can hear it after a couple of feet. Brakes feel ok, clutch feels ok, gearbox feels ok. Any ideas what this could be? Getting the recovery chaps out tomorrow am butanyone else had this? Cheers
  13. I have had a problem with noise on my car. Thought initially that it was a wheel bearing or possibly exhaust - dealer found nothing wrong and could not hear it! Changed the tyres today (do for renewal) and low and behold the noise has gone. Obviously don't want the new tyres to go the same way as the old so: Is the suspension geomatary the same think as wheel alignment? Do this have to be a dealer visit or it to a tyre place? Any receommended settings or will they just adjust to manufactures settings? I'm in Leeds - any places to recommend? Cheers
  14. Cheers Guys...never noticed it when I bought the car and it hasn't done it in other cars I have owned.
  15. Hi, This has probably been asked before so apologies - I'm struggling to find anything via the search function. I have a Petrol Octy VRs. When the windows are open (especially the rear) I get loads of wind noise. It's hard to describe but its like a 'pulsing' effect and starts over 40mph getting progressively worse. Had the car in at the dealers today (to fix the rear wash wipe ) and they said it was a 'feature' of the car. Anyone else get this before I ask to go out in one of their cars to hear this 'feature' on another car. Cheers
  16. FWIW I never had any problems with the DPF when I had my superb. Did mainly (though not all) motorway journeys.
  17. Cheers guys, I get the second bike this weekend. Pretty sure they will fit on top of each other in the back. If not will get a bike rack for one of them (roof or rear mounted) Niall - Thanks - Had not thought about standing them up with the wheel removed. May not fit in the hatch but will give it a go. There is loads of room lengthwise with the seats down but not sure on height at the back (though that would be the low end with the wheels removed)
  18. Hi Ray, yes it's a Mk 2 & it is a Hatchback (Vrs). One bike fits easily in the back with the seats down. I suspect if I cover the bike with cardboard to protect it, another bike will fit of top. I think it would fit better with the front wheels off. Failing that I will probably need to get a roof rack fitted.
  19. Bit of a strange question.... I can fit one adult bike ok in the back (boot) of the car with the seats folded down with the bike not taken apart in any way. Anyone managed to get 2 adult bikes in there (one on top of the other)? Failing that anyone have any roofracks for the car they use for bikes? Cheers
  20. Well the car went today. If anyone is interested sold for
  21. cheers - having had a look around I would guess at circa
  22. I enquired about changing my wood trim to piano black and got the following reply: To change all the wooden trim to black trim as on the 100 edition superb, the parts would cost you £514.34 including vat. The price also includes the gear stick. Tis' not cheap so I did not bother! (now sold the car)
  23. have looked on both the sites you mention (and autotrader). Was ideally looking for what they were actually selling for. Cheers
  24. Ok, due to getting a company car I need to sell either my Octy VRs (petrol) or the wifes Fabia VRs. I think the Fabia will go as I will be getting a diesel company car....so question...What should I be looking to sell it for. Oct '06 Car (56 reg) 3000 Miles Black No options Immaculate as you would expect for age. Cheers
  25. I have been driving the car normally, pressing on at times, relaxed driving at others. Not particularly looking to get high fuel economy (wouldn't have changed back to a petrol if I was) but its a bonus. On previous cars (Subaru, Audi TDi) I have nearly always averaged the combined mpg quoted.
