  1. Mine did this a couple of times though on wet roundabouts and I booted it so wasn't surprised when it happened.
  2. Saw on the web that it had been taxed so must of been sold fairly quickly. Only thought of it when found roof bars and dog guard for it in the garage when having a clear out. Just curious to see if anyone on here bought it.
  3. Hi Was wondering if anyone on here bought my old Superb? No idea what happened to it after it went to auction in the Midlands.
  4. I still have mine in the garage and fairly sure I still have the original box. I will try and take a photo as should have the part numbers etc on it. Not having the Skoda I am not on here much. Pity your not based UK @Rampart as you could of had mine. Not got round to sticking the thing on ebay yet.
  5. When I had the A6 I found that the trips I used to make I would normally require to fill up at home where in the Superb I would need to fill at 1/3 of a tank when A6 would be at half a tank, enough to get to London and back again for example. Not a massive deal just more frequent trips to the pumps and vat receipts to deal with. Really didn't want to be driving an old A6 after six months even with discount and also driving a lot more backroads and 20" wheels put me off as well. If had the choice again I think I would have gone for another A6 and not the Superb if hand on heart. Be interesting how the Landcruiser compares to life with me and needs.
  6. Rainmaker I have gone for a new Landcruiser as it ticks all the boxes and can also tow a double axle caravan if required and some really goo deals to be had. Nearly went for another A6 but they sold the one I was after.
  7. After two years and 53k my two year old Superb is going this week. Its due a service and needs two tyres and I have the option of handing it back now so decided its a good time to get something else. While its been a good car its never one that I have really bonded with, though my Dad is on his 3rd Superb. I had an Audi A6 previously and while you don't get as many toys I much preferred it to the Superb. The main reason being seating position and build quality. The Superb was bought for the 4x4 and price difference compared to the Audi, more space in the rear for the kids and the lower service costs enabled myself to buy a new mountain bike. The car over my time has done 38mpg which is similar to the A6. Good Points Good dealer service Space 4x4 Looks Not many around Toys (I ticked just about every option) Power & torque when fully loaded ACC never thought would like it, though only ever use it in roadworks on motorway. Ground clearance, less likely to catch the bottom of it off road like I did with A6 several times Bad Points Build Quality too many squeaks and rattles Required Cam Belt change completed under warranty and additional work required Seating position, like to sit in a car rather than on it which I feel like with Superb Value. Its worth the same as my Audi A6 3yrs with 130k. DSG, hesitates when changing gear when getting a move on Small petrol tank DCC noisy 4x4 not always engaging. Sometimes it would work other times would spin its front wheels It goes Thursday to auction so will appear next week at a BCA auction in Midlands somewhere. Now gone for something completely different mainly to wanting to get out of PCP trap and not doing 40K a year now.
  8. I have just put my 19s P7's back on as the car is going back next week and have noticed that they are a lot nosier than the Hancooks Evo Winters that I had on it. The winters were on 19s as well. I find the steering lacking in feed back as well and have DCC. I have everything in sport and gearbox in auto (I think).
  9. Yeah I have the official Skoda one. Can be fitted in seconds and secured using the four fixing bolts in the MK3. No drilling is required. The bolts came with the guard and doesn't rattle or move about.
  10. Pretty sure it wont as I have a MK3 that's going back (long story) and my dad has a MK2 Combi and it wont fit. The MK3 has fixing bolts that it fits into the roof and the boot section of the car.
  11. I had an A6 before the Superb and have to be honest will more than likely go back to another A6 again as I really miss it. Did try and buy it back after I traded it in but was sold the next day. The superb is a good car but not one that I have really bonded with. The A6 I had for three years and no issues in 136k where as the Skoda has had numerous issues and has only done 46k in just under two years due to fact I had a Ford Ranger for the best part of last year. There isn't much in the prices at the moment as deals can be had between Audi & Skoda. For me the A6 is a class above and don't mind paying for that.
  12. I have 19's on mine and never notice mine tramline either on motorways or bumpy roads. More affected by wind than anything else I have found.
  13. I am running 19's wearing Hankook's and running them at 34 psi with no issues currently.
  14. Mine was serviced at 17000 miles and was five months old. Service indicator showed a service due at 16000 miles but had to wait a week before I could get it booked in.
  15. Mine did this as well during the week driving down to London but reset itself as I was driving along and started working again. This is the third time its done this. Normally find it does it after I turn the AC off then turn it back on again. Now just leave it on all the time.
  16. I have noticed that the car is affect by wind but no more so than my previous A6 though only really notice it on higher parts of the M6 and M74.
  17. I find the ride to soft as well even in sport mode selected in DCC and mine is on 19's and also find it noisy but this is probably down to the P7's with 21k still have 5mm of tread. Will change them for Contis or P Zeros, more than likely though winters also on 19s, will being going on soon so be interesting to compare noise levels. Be interesting to see if the Sportline has any noticeable changes in the ride? Think when the Superb is due for replacement will go back to A6 and have heart rule rather than my head as the Superb was the sensible choice.
  18. My insurance was slightly more expensive than for my Audi. Had hoped the insurance would have been slightly cheaper.
  19. Have a look on ebay, I managed to pick up a set of genuine 19's for £650 that a dealer was selling of a demonstrator that had been sold but the customer wanted it on 18's. Then ordered a set of winters off www.oponeo.co.uk. Ran my A6 on 19s during the summer and 18s during the winter but couldn't find a set of wheels that I really liked for the Superb. Also curbed one of the wheels so that's now on the winter set as will get trashed with stones and grit anyway.
  20. I have everything in sport and have the gearbox set to auto. Won't ever have it in eco mode again. Makes the car so slow and unresponsive.
  21. Thought for once I would have a play with the cars settings yesterday and see how the fuel consumption is. Drove from Birmingham to Glasgow then Edinburgh in Individual mode, everything to sport and from gear box which was in auto. Sat at 80mph with air con most of the way and display showed 46.2 mpg. On the way back put it in Eco mode and it achieved 45.1 mpg according to display. When I got home I filled the car again and took 62 litres and done 640 miles which works out 46.8 mpg (I think, my maths aren't the best). Bit of a way off claimed figures though hardly surprising. Car has done 18K and is six months old. Considering it is TDi DSG and 4x4 cant really complain. Also know the screen readout is fairly accurate which was more of a surprise. Wont be using eco mode as effects the suspension. I have the optional suspension which even in sport and 19 wheels, I find too soft and floaty. If honest would still prefer to hammer it down and sod the fuel consumption!!!
  22. It took me six weeks to get a new windscreen which had to come from Skoda. Gutted as the car was only two weeks old when it got hit with a stone.
  23. Yeah, its easy to remove. I have the dealer fitted one and its been in and out the car a couple of times thanks to IKEA and the wife.
  24. Good review. Tend to agree with most of your comments. Though I always leave suspension in sport and even then I find that too soft though I had an A6 Sline with the lowered suspension which was a bit firm but I never felt it overly harsh. The DSG box seems to be Jackal & Hide, works well most of the time then throws a strop and forgets its a gearbox and has to change gear or changes gear to early then changes back down again. The camera is certainly worth it as in London a lot as well and great for parking though its still a big car and doesn't always fit in spaces or multi story car parks very well. Also have to be careful as can lose cars in the blind spot especially when joining a motorway, always have to check over your shoulder. No idea how much Adblue would cost me as filled mine up twice in 14000 miles though don't pay for it as borrow the trucks supply which considering how rough the engines sounds is a bit ironic. Do love the look of the car especially on 19s. Not sure at this stage whether I would buy another.
  25. I have the Skoda one, not for a dog but to keep kit in the back in event of a smash and dealer asked did I want the dividing one. Didn't look at the catalogue if honest, so not sure what is described.
