Hi Dan Thanks for your offer of assistance, checked with my insurance company and they confirmed that it would not cost me extra.

I have a 1.2 SEL and am thinking of getting the rear windows tinted dark- not blacked out. Any advice would be appreciated eg do insurance companies class rear window tinting as a mod?.

Decided to check oil/water on my SEL 110 but struggled to find the bonnet release. Eventually found it on the passenger side rather than the drivers side. Is this unusual? never found one at the passenger side before.

Thanks for your comments guys. My gripe is that when I was sold the car no mention was made of Mirrorlink/Smartlink and I only found out when I looked on this site. The sales guy asked what type of phone I had (its a Moto E) and never really commented either way . Usually I am like a dog with a bone on things like this but me thinks I have two hopes- no hope and Bob Hope. Incidentally CS at Skoda got the dealer to ring me and tell me they did not have the decency to reply to my e-mail.

I recently purchased a pre reg Fabia from Skoda's approved used car fleet- one previous owner Skoda UK, less than 20 miles on the clock. and discovered it was built pre week 22 hence Mirror link not Smart link. Asked Skoda UK whether they would consider fitting the Kenwood sat nav system as they have done for other people and the reply was as it's a used car no deal Has anyone with a pre reg car had the Kenwood fitted FOC?.

Hi guys Have just bought a 1.2 SEL Fabia which i am very pleased with apart from the fact i cannot get my smartphone (a moto e) to link up with the cars info system. On reading the posts about this it appears i am not alone. The car was built in March 2015 so looks like i will be contacting Skoda CS and my dealer to try and get the Kenwood system bolted on as one of the main reasons for purchase was to be able to use a sat nav app. Will try and keep you updated on progress.
