  1. I’ve just used this guide on my 2010 Fabia Elegance and it works. https://www.advanced-incar.co.uk/2017/01/12/vcds-activate-big-digital-speedo-mfd-dis-mph/
  2. Thanks mrgf. I think I’ve sold it now. I had it advertised on EBay and was getting offers of £35, which I thought was too low, but I had no idea how much it was worth. I’ve just accepted an offer of £65. Thanks again.
  3. Thanks for your reply mrgf. l have already bought the cubby/hole cover from EBay for £15 so that’s been sorted. I suppose I could state that the armrest is the greatest comfort aid ever created, but that would be stretching the truth somewhat. I hate it with a passion after trying to adjust my handbrake cables, a very simple job made very difficult with an after-thought design. I suppose we’re all different. The one in my Mini was equally as good and that was removed too for the same reason. I may keep it and re-fit if I sell the Fabia but I doubt it will make any difference to anyone buying the car. It certainly made no difference to me when I bought the car. The unit is clean, complete and working as it should. Thanks for your advice.
  4. I have recently bought a 2010 Fabia 1.6 TDi Elegance which had the centre armrest fitted. I say "had", because I have now removed it. It is the most stupid design. Lots of elbow banging, limited handbrake access and absolutely no access to the handbrake adjuster. Anyway, my question is this: if I was to sell the complete armrest unit, what would be a reasonable price? This includes the cast aluminium base with 4 bolts, the armrest unit and the plastic cowling.
  5. It depends on your front (VA) and rear (HA) axle weights. Check your VIN plate/sticker to determine what the weights are and find something to suit. I bought some Bilstein B6's recently from a German online shop. They were cheap and they were delivered within 3 days. I have had a look there and found the following Eibach Pro springs for a Fabia 1.9 TDi combi: https://www.auto-trend.net/auto/-Tieferlegungsfedern/Eibach Federn/Skoda/Fabia-/index.html?c=14379&pId=195134.DK.E10-79-001-02-22.FABIA-6Y-COMBI These work out at approx £120 delivered. Which is a big saving on UK prices. The Eibach springs are quite soft and very comfortable. Although, I didn't like the Bilstein B4's on my Audi A2 as I found them too soft to go with the Eibach springs and updated them to Bilstein B8's, which were superb with the Eibach's and completely transformed the car. You might like them though as they are an OEM replacement. You could look into Monroe Reflex or Koni FSD or indeed Bilstein B6/B8 too.
  6. Can anyone recommend any T Track roof bars that will fit a 2007 Octavia estate and work with Thule 591 bike carriers please. The cheaper the better. New or 2nd hand. Many thanks.
  7. You can change the remote to open all doors on one click, rather than two, in the menu that I mentioned above.
  8. There should be front and rear axle weights on the VIN sticker, either the one in your boot or the one in the service book. If front axle weight is under 900kg, then you want the first option. If it's over 900kg, you want the second option.
  9. Big Fish are doing a promotion on Facebook at the moment. A remap with rolling road tune for £200.
  10. You can change the locking settings on the dash screen. Turn ignition on, then hold the reset button on the right hand stalk for 5 seconds. This should put you into a menu to change lots of stuff. Use the rocker switch to move through the menus and the cancel button to select. That's if it's the same as my 2007 L&K Octavia, which I would assume it is.
  11. I got the springs from here: http://www.duw-tuner.de/
  12. Check Demon Tweeks on EBay for the Bilstein B4 shockers. I imagine the Fabia shockers will be the same price as my A2 ones. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Demon-Tweeks-Direct?_trksid=p2047675.l2563 The Eibach springs are from Germany. I paid 134 Euro for them delivered. I will post either a link or the company name, when I get chance to.
  13. I've just received some Eibach pro springs for the Fabia 6y from Germany. They cost me £100 delivered. They took 10 days to arrive. They are going on my Audi A2. I got 4 x Bilstein B4 shocks from Demon Tweeks for £125 delivered. So, you can do it on the cheap, if you're willing to look for the bargains.
  14. R Type was a brilliant game. I had it on my Amiga. I can't understand the prices of Neo Geo games. Back in the day and today's prices.
  15. I was browsing some old computer systems I had as a kid, Spectrum, C64, Amiga etc and came across this: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=272037894133&alt=web
  16. I'd be interested to hear what they are like too. Obviously, because I'm local.
  17. I am interested in buying VCDS but have no idea what I need or how to use it. I have a 2007 Octavia 2.0 diesel and a 2005 Audi A2 1.6 petrol. So, this kit could potentially be very useful to me. I also live in Billingham.
  18. I have 3 kids. Aged 9, 7 and 2. I use a proper car seat for the youngest and 2 Bubble Bums for the older two. They love them and they are very narrow.
