  6. Hello I have the following for sale 1x K03S hybrid turbo. I have little history on this unit i know it is reworked by turbo technics in northampton and was on a beetle that was running 280bhp. It comes with a black oversized tip silicone hose that is new. The turbo has a fair amount of play on it and my whole intentions was to get the turbo rebuild. The previous owner also told me the actuator ideally will need replacing. Im after £100 for both parts (picture available tomorrow) 1x Crinkle Black Powder coated inlet manifold. It is a AUQ small port head version. The finish is really good. £75 (picture available tomorrow) 1x NEW white car carpet cant remember why i brought this as its abit of a job to fit! Not sure if you can still get these. this is massive so collection is advised £100 All parts available in Milton Keynes for collection or courier
  7. Hello I have for sale a set of genuine BBS CH002 which i brought from demon tweeks last year for £1089 inc delivery I had them on my mk1 skoda octavia vrs for 9 months and took them off for the winter. Wheels do not have any kerb marks on them or any marks on the faces. Pretty much as new they come with all the bbs spigot rings, valves and wheel bolts sets so they are good to fit any 5x100 vag group car (golf 4 fabia etc) They have a 70mm centre bore which the spigots convert to VAG fitment. They also come with a pair of 5mm spacers. Tyres are all pirelli rosso's 225/40/18 the fronts are 3.5-3.8mm tread each and the rears are 5mm each so very usable. There is a tiny mark on the back of one of the fronts where the wheel touched a coilover. This has no effect on anything. other than taking some paint off. There is no way you would tell when there on the car. Would prefer collection but can deliver if a price can be agreed I am based in Milton Keynes I have these listed on eBay for £650 Im after £600 as I'm expecting a new car very soon Many thanks
  8. mine has started to this but much lower in the rev range about 3500 on half throttle. you can actually here it dump the boost on the DV continue like normal afterwards. my intital process will be boost leak check because theres a million pipes and connections that fail regardless of how much silicone hoses and checks i do N75 value i want to see what it does when i data log this when it does make the flat spot/loosing boost. the dump value it self i want to make sure it can still hold boast correctly both those units for me are under 2 years old and OEM units for me so i don't think they will be the problem The next 2 are more tricky to diagnose as there more age related i think could be the issue is the fuel pump because i know its original and I'm asking it to work harder (my car is stage 2) The last is the actuator and turbo it self again i know both are original so they are suspect I'm sitting on 110k miles now and been remapped from 60k
  9. also as a very final check give apex the axle loads for the car and make sure it is in range (it will be on a data sticker on the b piller most likely) just incase apex have decided to use a one spring fits all on the mk5 /octavia platform and it doesn't cover the extra weight of a octavia. Usually the way it sits at the rear is a clue
  10. hmm I have a lot of experience fitting lowering springs and coilovers on mk5 and 6 golfs but it just doesn't look right to me the spring itself looks like it is upside down. this is purely from experience of using coilovers and any other springs i have seen. Ive never seen this brand so I am not ruling this out. The section that is quite tightly coiled together is designed to touch the coils like many coil springs do. Its a very hard science to do this with out making noise or making noise in the long term. Many many manufacturers do this with a lot of success thats where most of there "R&D" goes. Also are those non genuine shocks? there could be the slight chance that the spring base on that shock is slightly different to the very original one. Where you are getting that mark on the bottom of the springs which 100% isn't right and will be where your noise is from. it looks more likely it is upside down but if you are saying that the way they are meant to be then all i could think of is filing that base down slightly. i would definitely follow up with apex before doing anything
  11. So today I did the usual pre wash was routine Followed by a light coating many to remove access polish from when I mopped it a couple of weeks ago also broke of some clay to work on the rubbers that had some polish on them. Then followed by auto finesse ultra glaze then some dodo juice wax (forget the name sure it's for a light car but I'm certain it's all very silmilar) Wheels where cleaned with valet pro bilberry cleaner , sealed with poor boys sealant then poor boys tyre black Thinking about stopping with the car now for any extra mods as I quite fancy the mk2 limited edition 2.0 TFSI. I also haven't worked out if I want to sell it as its relatively worthless
  12. Hello does anyone have the part numbers for the black background badges? 5J0853621AAUL I'm certain is one of them Im not sure what you use on the grill Many thanks
  13. I run 18 x 8.5 et 35 with coilovers and I've had a couple of problems with clearance Also running 225-45 18 pirellis which are slightly stretched. The wheel had about 1-2mm room from the strut and it did touch when the car was on lock so had to put 5mm spacers on I have now rolled the front arches and they just touch the arch liner when really pushed
  14. I got really bored doing this job It still rubs alittle but it's just the arch liner now
  15. You would be very lucky to get any warranty on this because of the time period There a pretty easy Spring to get I have just aquired a pair for my coilovers170/60 60nm was the dimensions I found this link on eBay it's a very close match just 10nm harder https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291780622636 There a good price as well
  16. Was it engine oil or transmission oil ( you could tell by the smell) They could of accidentally disturbed the rear main seal and it could be leaking from there. either way it's a related failure so you've probably got a argument on your hands.
  17. So I got my coilover issue fixed There was to problems the obvious ride height but the top mounts started creaking already. They were lemforder GSF units which I thought would be fine but they weren't up to it. I brought genuine Leon cupra r units and they are night and day a much better piece. So for the ride height I swapped out a 180mm Spring with 70nm to a 170mm 60nm spring . It's as low as it will go but I'm satisfied now. I'm determined to keep the tender springs in. Basically it has a 20nm tender Spring and a 60nm main Spring. It driver very very nice in this set up. You can still tell there coilovers but it not like I have sacrificed all the comfort. Today I gave the car a proper machine polish and its come out really good. I only issue is when you do a job like this it highlights want paint needs repairing! Anyways here's some new pictures I actually haven't decided what direction to go next with it now. It's brake upgrade or gearbox upgrades or maybe fix the annoying paint issues
  18. if it was me i would find a local cnc machine shop and give them the other side piece with a spring a oe top mount and a shock and ask them to make on for you. alternatively contact the other budget brands like Fk and ask for the front upper spring seat 60mm id from a mk4 golf platform car and use a pair of those. The part is pretty universal from what i can work out from pictures of other brands of coilovers i found the enquiry form on kw's site quite helpful but i do not know what they would charge http://www.kwsuspensions.co.uk/spare_parts/ hope this helps
  19. So the coilovers have not been straight forward so far Rears are good Fronts not so good The ride height is the same measurement as when I had the lowering springs :( I'm getting a different length main Spring installed next week and see where it goes from there. I'm trying to find information about removing the tender Spring and putting a normal helper spring but I know it will mess up the comfort level. So I will try a shorter main Spring first. Luckily if it wasn't the common 60mm id main Spring this would be very hard to fix The plus side is the drive quality is very very good. I have set them up (on a scale of 1 to 12 adjustability) to 3 at the front and 1 at the rear and them are more than firm enough
