  1. I hate the vRS trim, the seats are awful and lack side support, and the grey trim? WTF decided that was a good idea on a family car?! If I had the chance to design my own, I'd have an estate with black half leather Recaros, black carpet and black cloth door cards. That's the car Skoda should have built IMO...
  2. Sounds like a wishbone bush? 200 is a bit steep to change a wishbone to be honest. I use Ray Chandler next door to Fareham train station, he's a TT owner and the only guy I trust with my cars.
  3. I thought the stock pancake pipe was a flow restriction? It certainly won't help flow. I assume by no pipes over the bay you mean you don't like the K04 style hot side arrangement?
  4. Yep, standard compensator fits. Just had one fitted to my brothers car this morning by a mate in the local Kwik Fit.
  5. Diesel centre is a straight pipe, does away with the centre resonator. Almost a staright fit. Just needs the flared part on the front chopping off.
  6. Diesel centre section and a decat short of going all out and getting a system
  7. Have you checked and cleared the codes? The light means a fault code is stored which will point you towards the problems. Also, did you uplug the throttle body to clean it? If so, you'll need to run adaptation with VCDS.
  8. It'd do something, various Jap motors have them, my old Shogun had one on its top mount IC. You'd be well advised to get the Audi arch vent fitted to get the heat out of the back end of the IC as it has nowhere to go apart from up and into the bay. It'd be a fun side project, but it'll never be as affective as a decent FMIC
  9. Paid his price. No problems with bends at all, as long as you have space to work (obviously it's done off the car)
  10. I got one these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Intercooler-pipe-beader-/281315039498 For the money it can't be beat
  11. Bugger, the future hopefully holds a k04 :( Thanks for the help Tom, I'll just have to suck it up. I refuse to go near Techniclutch, even for their G60/Sachs kits. Too many upset people :(
  12. There's someone down soton with a Fabia 1.9 TDI breaking. I might have a look and see if that suits. Unhelpfully, there are no part numbers listed :(
  13. Can find even less now :( Does that apply to 02j TDIs too, or is it strictly 02a cars only?
  14. OK, so my clutch is goosed, and I'm going to go G60/VR6, BUT! Am I right in thinking that *ANY* 1.9TDi solid flywheel will fit, instead of just the usual ABF/G60 suspects? Seems anything G60/ABF related on eBay has scene tax on it, but 1.9 TDI Galaxy/Sharan flywheels are 40 quid (which appeals to the cheap ****** in me) Any definitive answers, before I drop the hammer on something I shouldn't?
  15. Nooooo!! Black magic mk1! You know you want the fastest colour they made
  16. Bad times :( Don't break her, sounds like you've already got time and money in it, worst case, new inner sills at a bodyshop? don't write it off before a second opinion; love is always worth a fight And take the garage to trading standards, don't let them get away with it. Sounds like they're a right shady bunch.
  17. I got one of these, fitted it to my brothers old vRS. A forge seal and spring work just fine with them as it's a brutal copy of a Forge item (probably why you can't get the Compbrake one any more?) Just saying
  18. 160k and still going on mine, and I admit, I abuse the hell out of the old girl. Abuse is nothing, it's the care and attention you give them I find is key to keeping any car going strong
  19. Is there much more lateral support? I *HATE* the vRS seats, me arse cains after a drive and when I throw it about, it's like I'm driving a park bench. Doesn't help I have a fat arse so am desperate for something better. Also looking good
  20. oooh, pink cannula, nice thin one then Missus has to have one of those every 28 days. doesn't help she's needlephobic either :( Top Mrs for the pressie though, you should go in more often if she treats you like that! All I get is a day off work and to wear the maids uniform :(
  21. Tried one, it was gash and sent it back. didn't seal much, and for 25 knicker, I'd rather make it myself. My brothers old vRS had a Jabbasport shield and cone that was spot on. Screw paying 160 quid for it though. The R-Tech ones are similar, but even 69 quid for a bit of bent ali is a bit steep for the northerner in me, so I'm going to modify the pattern I have and post it here when I'm done. It'll basically go across the back of the battery, mirror the angle of the MAF, and finish up next to the cable trunk. Then stick some door rubber along the top of it to seal it to the bonnet and bosh, job's a good'un It has a mind of its own, and it's partial to the posh bird from Gogglebox on the telly, other than that, she's a goer
  22. I hate to say it, but let them try and sell it to a taxi driver with 200k on it. Without wishing to be rude, they're deluded. The sad fact if the matter is these are buyers cars; there are plenty out there and just because they've spent a fortune on it (most likely mileage related repairs - what's te chances that the turbo didn't need replacement, rather £2 of Mr Muscle VNT 'repair' instead?) Let them find another buyer, you have no obligation just because it's family. And no taxi driver on earth will buy a car already with 200k on it - they're the ones that take brand new cars and put 200k on they by 5 years old in the first place!
  23. Just been out to look, and it looks like I have two broken slats. So, either mesh (not overly keen) or another grille by the looks of it :( Also, the clutch slipped under full boost earlier, so time for the G60/VR6 sooner than I hoped :( Plan is now this: - Clutch Poly fill the mounts (dog bone already has a TDI red bush) Black carpet Grille Exhaust because the cat is also borderline shagged Anyone want to buy a kidney, or my left nut? In the meantime, mocking up a heatshield v1 Doesn't fit. And don't have any more card. Time to eat all the cereal in the house I think.
  24. It's actually surprisingly easy to drill, just use plenty of masking tape like I did, and start the drill slow. The hole cutter that comes with these Shenzhen special kits is proper sharp!
  25. Yeah, gonna chuck it in the car wash and stick some decent pics on. She does scrub up well when shown a little TLC, but I'm a mechanical man, not a bufty nut. It's suit me just fine it it was matte black to be honest And gutted about the chrome bit popping out, I always wondered if I could but couldn't quite see how :( The paint is already stone chipped due to the veritable dirt track that passes for the A27 round here. I swear I saw a guy shoeing a mule on the side of the road the other day.
