  1. I have them on the front windows.. They are good for stopping the "Drips" One thing to remember.. If you have folding mirrors that are actuated from the key fob you will crush the deflector if you fold the mirrors in.. BE Warned...
  2. Cupholders are the least of my worries when trying to pour out a cup of coffee from my thermos.... It goes everywhere,,and if you manage to get it in the cupholder and apply the brakes it floods the gearstick surround.. I just keep my spare change in there now...Oh..and dont put a fruit scone in there ..you will never get it out in one piece..
  3. I retired last week and have just had to personally pay for the first tank of fuel for 42 years... Its breaking my heart....I will have to start taking short-cuts on my journey to the fishing lake.
  4. Thank you for pointing this out.. I was not around when this was originally posted.... It must be there for a reason.
  5. Since I bought my Superb Greenline 1.6 Tdi in December /15 and have not had a chance to have a proper look under the bonnet until yesterday except to fill the screen wash and dip the oil. Anyway, I noticed that there is a black plastic bag tucked under the top of the O/S inner wing near the fuel filter. It seems to have some foam in it. I have not taken it out and will call in the Skoda dealers and ask them... Does anyone know if its supposed to be there ? or if so.. What for ?.. I have had a look at the N/S inner wing and there is none there. The car is a 64 reg. (Feb2015) and was previously owned by Skoda head office in Oxford. Its done 4000 miles.
  6. Question Please. I have the Amundsen unit .. Are the fixing screws the same as the Columbus. Im thinking of getting some Torx screws. Thanks Kirkie...
  7. My 2015 greenline tdi takes 3 miles to give any heat to the cabin. Then the temp needle goes from zero to 90 in rapid time and its hot. Not had this on any previous vehicle, they all progressed slowly.. Dont know about the oil temp procedure. Only just worked the radio out.
  8. Im just into my first Skoda after having company cars for over 40 years of all makes I have a pretty good idea of what I wanted for my retirement as I had to buy it myself. So, Knowing of the immediate loss of as soon as a new one leaves the showroom, it had to be a pre -reg or very low miles one owner. For some reason, Skoda dealers do not pre-reg anything, so I eventually found a 2015. 1.6 D Greenline with all the extras that had come direct from Skoda UK in Oxford. with 3000 miles. I have had it 3 months and my choice was good. Im looking to get 10 years out of it. I will be 76 then and probably ready to quit driving. It will no doubt last me with average yearly mileage and good service periods.. So "Jobs a good un" with £30 tax and £260 insurance.. residual values are not a issue for me.
  9. What are your options ? Have you got the time , equipment, knowledge to do it yourself.. Will it be ok when you have done it ? If your not sure , its probably best to bite the bullet and get a pro to do it. There may be a possibility that someone somewhere will have a set of wheels for sale..but probably cost more than a refurb. My wife terminally kerbed all 4 wheels on her Fiat 500 in one day.. So threw them in the skip and put steels on it...
  10. Reading this makes me pleased that I have just bought one on these as my first Skoda Feb 2015 with 4000 on the clock. All the knobs & whistles. Thanks for the reassurance. Jim
  11. Many thanks for that information.. Just the answer I was looking for.. Regards JIm
  12. I am attaching a further tyre question to this thread as Jaspers has now got his answer. I have just bought a February 2015 Greenline 111 Estate. It says in the owners manual that the suspension has been lowered by 15 % to assist the MPG. Having just bought some rear mudflaps I would like to fit some tyres with a higher sidewall profile. Im not sure of the height parameters allowed that will not put the speedometer out too far but will lift it up just a tad . I dont want to change the rim size. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks Kirkie.
