Went to the dealer today with the strip color change, they showed me the response from Skoda factory: "....damage to the chrome is caused chemically, by aggressive cleaning with PH more that 12.5 or bad diluted with water. Customer should change way of cleaning. This is not possible to change in terms of warranty. ...".

There are no visible wires or anything on the windscreen, i can assure you because i've looked a lot before deciding. Due to lower GPS signal, measured by myself, i did not go with that option.

I tested myself with the 3G/4G signal with CellMapper, and there is a significant signal reduction , around 3-4dBm . I could not test with the GPS because it was indoor, but i can speculate that it does affect the signal. What is the difference between inside the car and outside ? ( looking at the GPS satellites SNR value)

I guess there are not a lot of people with 1.4 or 1.8 TSI with DSG 7 around here to share some thoughts about how well is the DSG behaving.

@rufusmcc - how about the GPS from an external device, does it lock to the satellites ?

if you selected the heated windshield, you could have some issues with the signal reception ( both GSM and GPS )

From what i could gather until now, there were massive issues with DSG 7 but it looks like they stopped around 2014. ( after the recall ). Do we have any S III here with more than 30 000 miles on board with a DSG 7 ?

one of the dealers just , kindly, suggested to go for DSG6 or manual That messes up all my plans.....

@mtl - i know there are two options of ACC, one up to 160 and the other one up to 210 km/h

I've read some horror stories about the VW DSG7, as a lot of people complain about faults . Not so much about DSG6, but the DSG7 has a lot of problems, even looking in briskoda superb II, there are a lot of people complaining. Have they done some improvements on the S III DSG 7, does anybody knows if it is WET or DRY ?

Why don't we see more silver cars here?

Comfort mode ,gave me a little nausea on a country road. As i've understood, the suspension in sport mode is not very pleasant if you happen to hit any potholes. Best compromise is suspension in normal mode and the rest in sport mode.
