  1. When I took a test drive last week I was told lead time was 4 months at least and interest in the car was "overwhelming", so if orders are now suspended it at least shows the salesman wasn't telling porkies. VW seem to have got this badly wrong, given that this car was first mooted in, I think, 2012 - I wonder how many sales they could have had if they'd got a move on!
  2. Only have am/FM on the Mii so can't comment I'm afraid.
  3. Had this problem on my wife's Mii and got a major improvement by fitting a longer aerial mast to the existing base in place of the "stubby" fitted as standard. The one I got was 42 cm and cost £3.95 off Ebay - can't remember supplier but there are loads on there. Worth a try. Dunno if the Citigo radio is the same but on our car you can access a second level of menu by pressing the menu button on the radio and holding it until it comes up. This shows signal strength etc which on our car doubled after the mast swap.
  4. I see from this weeks Autocar that Skoda are investigating the business case for a vRS. Given that the Polo GTI and imminent Ibiza Cupra (predicted to be around £18,400) already use the 1.8 tsi, that would seem to be the likely option.
  5. Had my Leon in for service the other day at my local Skoda/Seat dealer. Killing time in the showroom I was impressed with the Fabia as a potential future vehicle (looking to downsize eventually) but would not be happy with current engine choice. Sales guy I was chatting to said "Ah, you`ll be wanting the vRS then". Pointed out that Skoda have so far been quite emphatic that there won't be one to which the response was: "They said that last time, watch this space". Interesting!
  6. rrigs & Citigopher - many thanks for your full and interesting comments. It looks like being a brain hurting exercise to go through the various options! Have also tended to shy away from finance/lease options in the past but will be looking at them seriously this time around.
  7. Going to the local dealership next week and will explore all options - but how cheap is "cheap" if you don't mind my asking?
  8. Thinking seriously about a Yeti after a disappointing year with a Seat Leon. In view of low annual mileage preferred engine choice would be 1.4 TSI but as yet this is only available on L & K which is overspecified for me. SE would be fine and a 150ps diesel SE to my preferred spec would be around £1800 less than petrol L & K. Have asked Skoda Customer Service if the 1.4 TSI is likely to become more widely available and they replied: "There is no information regarding the 1.4TSI being available in any other specification" which I take as a no. So it comes to a choice between spending £1800 on bits I don't want (though I appreciate I should recover some of that on resale) or go back to diesel (owned and liked diesels for over 20 years until recently but all pre-DPF and my mileage was higher then). I only do 5-7,000 a year but rarely make a journey of less than 20 miles (we use my wifes Mii for that) and usually 50+, and my concern is whether that pattern of usage would be enough for the DPF to regenerate. Any thoughts/experiences much appreciated.
  9. .......and compliments of the season. Been viewing as a guest for a while so felt I should join. Currently driving a Seat Leon but worsening back problems are making us think Yeti for next time! Mrs Stagsfell has a Seat Mii which seems to have so many parts stamped Skoda it must think its a Citigo anyway.
