  1. May I just say the pictures and advice posted by Yeti-man are excellent. Although I could not find it again when asked in a previous post, the official warrentry time for Skoda on a sunroof is 3 months. Unless a Skoda main dealer 'guarantees' from the start the repairs will be carried out free, find a good independent body shop and use them. Mitchell's near Chester told us it would be repaired for free under 'guarantee and then charged us about £450. A complaint to Skoda about this only resulted in a Skoda voucher for £250. About the cost of a service.
  2. I would think it applies to all models. Yes they did fix it, but it cost just under £500 as it took a day to take it apart to check where it was leaking (even though I showed them) and then another day a week later to take it apart again and repair it. They also said initially it would be covered under guarantee, but once repaired said it wasn't! I did find that Skoda only guarantee their sunroofs for 3 months! After several complaints they gave me a voucher to use at a Skoda main dealer for £200. I reluctantly accepted this. Should have gone to an independent body repairer who would have done it in a couple of hours - about £50. My wife had no confidence in the sunroof afterwards so sold it and now have a new Yeti which does not have a sunroof
  3. Hi all. I am about to have my new Yeti delivered. Thought I would invest in a Dash Cam. Would prefer a duel camera? All experiences, options greatly appreciated. Thanks Chris
  4. Unfortunately have come to the same opinion as Brit24 - not getting a future car with a sunroof. The other thing I did not appreciate until having a panoramic sunroof is really only benefits those in the rear seats! mthe front seats you are not even aware it is there, unless you look for it.
  5. Well I have finally agreed a conclusion with Skoda. I had to pay over £450 (up front) to have the adjustment on my sunroof done. The vast amount of the cost being the investigation as to why is was leaking. After several conversations with the Skoda Warrentry Department I had to accept their best offer. So I have £250 to put towards a service or Skoda part etc. This means the cost to myself for the adjustment was about £200. Fortunately I am in the process of purchasing a New Yeti so would use a main dealer for the services initially; otherwise I would have been more disappointed than I am. One final point: having read the warrentry fully now, I thought the sunroof would be covered for 6 months from new. However this thought was corrected by the customer service department of Skoda Warrentry. Sunroofs are only covered for 3 months! It is a pity they don't have a simple method of checking if the sunroof does require adjustment as the job as adjustment itself would be less than an hours labour.
  6. My Yeti was about two and a half years old when I bought it. No evidence of previous leaks from Panoramic Roof. Once used, a dark grey shadow started appearing from the top of the passenger side A pillar, spreading towards the roof. This post was great as detailed and clear photographs explained everything. It took a few visits to the main dealers for them to agree the problem was a leaking sunroof. After contacting Skoda warrentry they agreed to adjust the sunroof mechanism, which does seem to have fixed the problem. I asked them to put jubilee clips around the white connectors which they have told me they did. I have had to pay over £400 up front while waiting to find out whether or not it is covered by the warrentry - this was all labour costs (at a special reduced rate) as they removed the roof lining to gain access. It is possible to get access to the top of the two front A pillars after removing grab handle and visor, but you need to be careful not to over crease the roof lining. If no warrentry etc. would suggest you try adding the jubilee clips to the front two seals as they are very poor and it does not require removing the whole roof lining. .
  7. Thanks for the info. It is a 2013 Yeti (same shape as 2012). Do you know if the carrier will fit your Yeti? thanks Chris
  8. Have had my Yeti for 6 weeks now, only concern has been a leak from the sunroof - still waiting to see if the warrentry covers it? All is OK with it now, has certainly been tested over the last couple of weeks. I joined BRISKODA after seeing an image for a bike rack on 'google images' . All info for a high level rear bike rack greatly appreciated. The original pic I saw was posted by Macdemon and looks ideal for my purposes, unfortunately none of the main bike carrier manufacturers will list one as suitable for a Yeti!
  9. Hi, I am trying to find a rear high bike carrier with rails for my 2013 (same shape as the 2012). I have seen a photo of one which looks ideal but have not picked up full information on it yet. All suggestions appreciated
