  1. Hi I never have fixed it unfortunately. I have the oil changed every 6 months and always within 2 weeks, the change oil warning comes on. I now just put up with it.
  2. I had mine re-sprayed and they look great. They were in a terrible state when I bought the car. It looked like someone had wire wooded them.
  3. What are you researching? Or proposing to research?
  4. Rust seems a rarity nowadays. It’s amazing how a car can look great but be a mechanical write off. Nice to see the Germans have still got something to work on! I will continue to read your journey with interest. I am hooked on Skoda now. 2 in a row and I’ve never dine that before.
  5. It is nice. I’ve had to have repairs done on my leather seats. It was a company car before I had it and despite only having 31000 on the clock it was poorly looked after. I stupidly missed the damage when looking at it. However. The repairs are amazing and you wouldn’t notice if you hadn’t seen them prior to repair. Useful to know the hair dryer trick! I’m sure my bottom will cause the sag effect eventually! On the seats that is!
  6. Does the hair dryer shrink the baggy leather back?
  7. Before it was changed it had the correct oil level but I would say the oil was darker than I would have expected being as it had been changed allegedly. I didn’t check it immediately after I got it changed but looking today again the level is right and the oil is very clean. I should also have mentioned that when I collected the car from the dealer the time to oil change was 0 on miles but high on days.
  8. Hello all when I recently bought my used superb the service paperwork showed an oil change, upon service, whilst in the possession of the dealer, 4 months prior to my buying it. A week after ownership the change oil now warning came up upon starting the car. I had an oil and filter change done as I felt happier knowing for sure it had been done. 600 miles later and the warning is back again. The garage did reset the oil service counter but I noticed that although the days to oil change was reset, the mileage to oil change was on 0. This was the same when I bought the car, mileage on 0 but days still high. Is the garage missing something when they reset the warning? I have a friend with the Skoda software, can that be used to reset it myself? It is set to variable service which I’d rather keep. Thanks all all for your help.
  9. You’re right. I think that is what is in the second photo. Still no luck though. I emailed a dealer and got ignored so I guess it’s one of those things I will just keep an eye out for on auction sites.
  10. That’s it. I haven’t fond a part number yet but will keep trying.
  11. Many thanks. You are the font of all knowledge! I might just send my q’s Directly to you!
  12. Hi folks This is an incredibly useful thread. I have a Columbus in a 2015 series 2 superb. I believe the maps are version 11 or 12. Do I need to update firmware before updating to version 15 maps? I have had a good read through and get the impression I don’t but don’t want to break my new toy! Thanks for your help.
  13. I haven’t but will take a look. Many thanks.
  14. Hello all It seems the series 3 tunnel mat is cheaper than the series 2, does anyone know if the series 3 one would fit in a series 2?
  15. Hello all Having moved my 2011 1.8tsi dsg Superb on, I now have a 2015 2.0 tdi series ii. The rubber pad on the rear of the drivers interior door handle is missing. Any ideas where I can find one please? I have tried eBay with no luck. I know it’s fussy but it’s just got to be how it’s supposed to be! I remember reading on here sometime ago that it’s common for them to come off but never had an issue on my previous Superb. Thanks all.
  16. This thread has been very useful. My 2011 Superb 1.8 TSI SE (73000 miles) began using more oil about 6 months ago but it was manageable. However, in the last month I was topping up every 250 miles. I do around 350 miles a week so this was becoming a real pain. I kind of new this was coming having read these threads sometime ago. Having read the prices people were paying to get the problem sorted at dealers I decided I didn't want to invest that kind of money and so took it to two independent garages. Both said piston rings etc. but as this work would take some time and they couldn't say for sure it was the issue, both declined the work recommending I get rid of the car. So, my immaculate Superb is gone. It'll be missed but... 2015 Superb 2.0 TDI Elegance will be with me next week!!! Thank you to all for the information given on here. I think it has likely saved me a lot of hassle and money.
  17. Hello all My 2011 Superb SE TSI fuel filler flap doesn't lock when the car is locked. I don't know if it has always been like this or if it has stopped doing this recently. Is it supposed to lock when I lock the car or is there a valve that stops anyone syphoning the fuel and so it doesn't need to lock? I would be grateful for you advice folks. Thank you.
  18. I used blutac for my side panel rattle along with sticky back felt. I found once the interior temperature of the car warmed up the rattle got less but the rattle was way too loud not to do something.
  19. Looking at other chats on here, if you have the sensor for auto lights, you'll have it for auto wipers. That's the theory that led me to look and there it was. I'm no expert though.
  20. Hill hold was enabled when I bought mine second hand but yes, definitely worth having!
  21. I did fin it odd that the aux didn't work but it was definitely switched off in VCDS.
  22. Well having read on here that it could be done, I got a mate with VCDS to switch my wiper intermittent setting to rain sensor mode. It works great and took less than 2 minutes. So pleased. I also got the same mate to switch the aux input on a while ago too. So, are there any more gizmo's that can be switched on that Skoda have chosen to leave off and add to the next model up for more money? It's like Christmas every few months! I own a Superb estate SE TSI 2011 model. Happy sharing all!
  23. Had similar faults on a mondeo recently. Had just bought second hand of an independent. It was just before the recent law changes. Dealer tried everything including main dealer but still wouldn't fix. Eventually I refused to take it back of them and it took 3 months of 'discussion' before I got my money back. I really liked the car and so kept taking it back but have learnt the lesson now. If it won't fix it won't fix. Don't pro long it. Ask for your money back!
  24. I find the thermos cup with the more narrow bottom fits lovely. However, it does struggle with my whisky tumbler!
