  1. Thanks mate, I feel all fuzzy and warm now ! Seriously thanks for the kind words all the best !!
  2. I tell you what some posters on here needs to get a fooking life. It wasn't a personal dig at the fabia, I was just trying to say it wasn't for me and say thanks to all those who have helped with problems in my time with the car. Thats the problem with internet posting, people don't act as they would in real life and become all big and opinionated, it will be the downfall of humanity !! Anyway to those nice people on here thanks again for your help, and to the Fabia Fanboys, at least you have a heated rear screen now to keep your hands warm when your car runs out of 98 ron ( or should it be 95 ron ) petrol !!!!!!!! (PS THAT WAS A JOKE !)
  3. Cheers mate, like I say I wasn't putting a downer on the car, just ultimatley not my cup of tea.... I prefer coffee, Thank you and good night !!
  4. Wasn't going on about MPG mate, I'm used to mid 20's mpg, had a Clio Cup and Civic Type-R, what gets me is the advertising of 45mpg when its an out and out lie !! Don't mind paying for petrol if I'm trashing the guts out of the car but I'm getting 30mpg driving like miss daisy, thats all ! Anyway I'm fully expecting to get around 25mpg from the Swift as I'll be redlining it all the time !!
  5. After 7 months from new ownership my red Vrs is going.... My fault really, car is a bit too dare I say boring? Too quiet, too comfortable, too smooth for me so trading down to a Suzuki Swift Sport 2009 plate ! I think the rot set in after having to wait 7 months for a new car and then to have lots of niggling build quality issues, rattling instruments, doors, dashboard and suspension. Dirt in paint work, corroded alloys and trim coming away. Yes I know eventually they can be fixed but thats not the point when you buy your first brand new car. Oh and the fuel consumption is around 28mpg nowhere near the claimed, I am realistic and didn't expect to get 47 mpg but maybe mid 30's especially as you have to use 98 ron ( or do you !! ) Looking forward to a new(ish) toy to play with, wishing you all well and good luck with your cars! Rich
  6. 2011 Fabia Vrs 1.Grit under paint on door handle.. Do I want it re sprayed, no thanks not on a red car 2.Plastic trim guards on wheel arches, fitted incorrectly and replaced. 3.Black plastic trim around doors peeling off. 4.Rattle from instrument binnacle. 5.Rattle from front passenger door. 6.Rattle from rear view mirror. 7.Rattle from rear seat belt buckles. 8.3rd and 5th Gear thunk into gear in manual mode / very slow. 9.Rattle from all over the dash board. 10.Rattle from head rests Apart from these, nowt wrong with it. Oh and the squeaky accelerator pedal.... And the misted up DRS light covers. But thats all.....
  7. It feels very solidly built, no rattles or creaks as yet ..... give it a couple of months and then it will. At least the stereo is good enough to drown it out !!
  8. Thanks for the advice mate although I think I need some sort of felt to sort the dashboard out. Any one know where to get some
  9. Had the car in yesterday, test drove it with the service manager, pointed out the dash rattle, the squeeky accelerator pedal and the juddering rear wiper. Collected it that evening and told all was well. Drove it home and the pedal and dash rattle were still there. Next morning comes and now in the light I can see a nice dint from a mechanics screwdriver in the dash surround and WD40 all over the dash. Can't be ####d to complain, bit sick now. Oh and now when you press on the insert of the instrument binnacle it comes loose and out so at least I can put some foam in and fix it myself. No wonder it rattles, its not screwed in just held by 7 metal clips against hard plastic. Oh and it came back with a clip missing too. Happy driver, I think not. Never mind, stereo is going permanently on to FULL BLAST
  10. Ok, some progress on the rattles front. Rattle in door card fixed with WD40, plastic door card was rubbing on the rubber window surround. A rattle that sounded like it was from the glove box was actually the passenger seat belt holder vibrating against the seat base ( sound must have been reflected ). This was fixed with a bit of sponge and black electricians tape. Another one turned out to be my MDI and memory stick vibrating, stuffed it in an old black sock and pushed it right in, sorted. Next up was one coming from behind the air bag? I found that if you open the passenger door where the air bag switch is , there is a panel above it. When you tap it it buzzes. I put a bit of sponge in the gap there and it stopped that also. The last one which I am yet to solve is the one from the instrument cluster. I need some thin grey sponge to wedge between the surround and the instruments then that should be that. Had the car booked into the dealers next Wednesday but am going to cancel, can't be bothered to take it in for one rattle. Will leave that for its service next year unless anything else comes up.
  11. Then you should be trying harder I get 29 mpg and pay for it myself ! Shame on you should be around 22 !
  12. Maybe they had more WD40 sprayed on them at the factory.......
  13. I'd like to think that we are all missing the point and the poster is taking the P155...
