  1. I hear the noise in ours. Its the wiper realy clicking you will only really notice it on manual wipe and intermittent. you could get them to change it but relays will make a noise (unless they are solid state) so unlikely to remove the sound.
  2. I find I can never get better than average of 46mpg according to computer2, but this seems pretty accurate overall based on a few checks between fillups. This is mostly relatively short runs though motowaydriving gets it up to about 50mpg.
  3. yeah mines the same, was getting 46mpg a couple of months ago ~440 miles per tank, now down to about 40mpg~ 350-380 per tank, similar driving for each. Have changed air filter and made no difference, so figure on cold temps etc. No loss of power
  4. Yeah mine was doing the same, dealership didn't fix it, but some stick on some bumpy road did, reckon its cleared out the bushes or loosened them up a bit :S
  5. Sounds like something to investigate, thanks, it niggles me everytime I flick the main beam switch
  6. Kiss My VRS, some pistures of the fit of yours would be really helpful if not too much trouble. Thanks
  7. Have factory fit xenons and not that inpressed tbh. Dip beam is bright but sharp cutoff and main beam is so narrow its never shining where you are driving. Fiesta lights were better Am I right in thinking the main beam is additonal spot only and Xenons do not alter as that how it appears
  8. hmm, thanks for the replys all. Perhaps they suggest not all airboxes or pipercross filters are made the same. Sounds like some just drop in as my OEM filter does. Having had another go, there is no way that this pipercross filter is going in without forcing it and risking breaking the air box and even then I suspect the seal would not be good due to warping the filter in the process. Think I will give Awesome a call.
  9. I have similar, mine has shown the service icon/spanner thingy either, on 30k miles now. Not too bad to remember as long as you are able to service on 10k miles round numbers
  10. Yes sorry, I should have explained better. The pictures show the top of the air box with the filters fittied in them in the correct orientation for comparrison (foam to floor once the top is back on, yep). It seems that there is a lip on the bottom of the air box and two lips on the lid the OEM filter fits inside the two lid lips, but the pipercross lays over the insde lip on the lid meaning that the ridge on the pipercross filter would have to be compressed massively to allow it to fit.
  11. Recieved Pipercross panel filter for VRS from Awesome and am having trouble getting it to fit. Hoping someone who has done this before can shed some light on it. It would appear that the Piperx is about 5mm longer and wider than the OEM filter that I removed so does not fit easily into the recess as the OEM filter did. It can be placed into the recess but this warps the filter and does not allow airbox cover to fit. Couple of photos show my problem, has anyone seen the same and over come it. Is this normal, as usually I only normally use paper replacements and they have just dropped into place on previous cars. *Edit* Quick search on the web shows the part number on the filter box to be correct for Fabia VRS thanks
  12. Nice one. I have this intermittently I shall investigate tomorrow. Drives me mad, not as much as the buzzing from the passenger door, but one less rattle/squeek would be good.
  13. on the other hand, a VRS is no more to insure for me than a 1300 fiesta was, both un modded. What I have found annoying though is that insurance companies on renewal simply up the price year on year for no particular reason. Well above any infaltionary rise etc. The only way to keep insurance sensible is to change companies almost yearly. Oh and high mileage i.e. over 15k (not high in my eyes, but it is in theirs apparently) seem to be making a big diffeence to me lately.
  14. argh posted twice sorry :S Being told its a characteristic of the car is very annoying. It does it, so yes it a characteristic, but it shouldn't be there. Stating its a characteristic suggests it is designed as such, and then they expect people to pay
  15. Not read the whole thread, sorry, most likely this has already been said. New a chap with the 2.0 audi TDI with a similar issue. The dealerafter much rangling the replaced the flywheel. (That was thier diagnosis of the issue and audi's) It did not cure the issue. After some time they upped the idle speed from 700rpm to 900 rpm, which got rid of the issue. I have a Fabia VRs and it does have a very smal stutter on idle very occaisionally, which I think is similar to the audi once sorted it also idles at about 900rpm. Hope you get things resolved I know the pain of dealing with warranty issues, even without the hassle you are having.
