  1. Hi Guys, Its seems very possible tro retro fit fog lights but there seems to be some technical jargon. I have upgraded my occy to a VRS with the advantages of non VRS adding the VRS bumper and lights but want them wired in, in this expensive or can you do at home? Regards, Chris
  2. Hi all, I have read many posts about this but my BKD sounds like a police siren which I have had diagnosed as the turbo. Performance is still strong. Some black smoke at high revs. I have recently had a bespoke remapp which im guessing created additional pressure that affected the turbo. Can I drive it for the next week until I get it sorted? Also, I am sending to a turbo specialist who has recommended that we look into the issue with the turbo before we replace the whole thing. It may only be some components that need replacement (saving£££) and we discussed a slightly increased compressor wheel to help performance. Will that need another remapp? or is an increased compressor wheel ill advised as it may cause more issues? Several questions but needing advice. New tandem pump, new EGR, new cam belt, new glow plugs all done. Any input would be appreciated.
  3. Thank you all, this is really helpful. Spoke to TPS, looks like around £300 for new primed bumper but not including grill and lights. Maybe used is the way to go. Thanks again.
  4. Pre fl, the resprayers I've spoken to say new is best. New primed non Vrs are <£100. One chap on eBay wants £300 for a damaged Vrs one. Although it seems a new one is completely unobtainable, from uk, Czech, China. So I'm slightly confused.
  5. I want to put Vrs bumpers on my mk2 octavia as a part of my upgrade but can't seem to find them anywhere. Can anyone help?

  8. Additional information, the fuel filter was changed twice as was black with what I guess was oil from a faulty tandem pump. Do I just need to give good run to clear out the system as the tandem pump and fuel line was only done today.
  9. If anyone can help. My octavia has 90k on the clock. I bought it with an intimitant lumpy idle which I thought would be simple to fix. Five mechanics and well in excess of £1000 spend on new injectors, new tandem pump, glow plugs, fuel line clean out, servicing and attempts at diagnosis, I still have a lump idle. It went to skoda with reports on faults in injector 2 and wire loom, injector replaced but I am hesitant about spending more on 'possible' fixes. I'm not convinced this is from the wire loom. The issue is intimitant, the car cruises well but engine may slightly vibrate at speed if playing up. If held at 1500 rpm the power will cut in and out but never stall. As if I'm going on and off the accelerator we very 2 seconds. Any help is muchly appreciated.

  11. I'm just about to get mine done, I've shopped around and found someone in Surrey whose seems very reliable and prices are excellent. Might be slightly closer from Oxford.
  12. Hello all, I'm on a mission to upgrade my Mk2 Octavia 2.0tdi 140 She's in good condition but needs some love. Done tandem pump and an injector, everything else is in great condition. So looking at a few bits and have a few questions if anyone can help? 1. Plan on remap, will gearbox and diff handle a hybrid turbo too or is it OTT? 2. Do the wheel arches handle lowering and 19" rims, considering loading? Don't need a street machine just a loved, nice Octavia. Got a remap quote £260, best price I found. Looking for nice rims.
