  1. Long time no speak... So much work done, good job David!
  2. Hmm, with what you have done, I'd be questioning the original one rather than the new one. Was the first one done when stock?
  3. Cool, I'll be there sometime after 10am then... Easy, the worst thing that could happen is I patch the wrong server
  4. Can you get in to watch? Its only 12 miles from me, I'm working that day but I only need my laptop
  5. I know when I was sorting out company cars for the NI and IE guys, they got the same model Golf but the IE guys was sparse but had a much better engine, the NI guys was a slow limo in comparison
  6. Ah.... I see you are in Dublin, i know from previous experience they have different specs on cars than here. Looking at the brochure, http://www.skoda.ie/brochures/Documents/07.2014_Citigo.pdf there are indeed different options to the UK.
  7. Same as tweenster, afaik there isn't a 75hp Monte, I was in the dealers last week and they said the new model still has the 60hp engine!
  8. I meant the rear pipe :p That will probably be hidden on this first version at least. He's got a great idea for a twin rear exit... I like the idea, I like the drawing he did, its more than likely going to be added at some point as the development goes forward. I'm taking a Marginal gains attitude with this at the moment, I want to see whats possible on a sensible budget without making it look like I ram raided Halfords!
  9. A good friend who has been making my custom bike exhausts for years has ventured into cars recently, so he will be doing it. Yeah, I was going 2.5, back box is probably going to be hidden as i plan to keep as close to OEM looking as possible at this point, hence no coil overs. That will probably all change though knowing me
  10. Manifold back, just deciding what rear exit pipe/s to go for, he gave me too many choices lol
  11. So, after 7 months, its time for an update. Car went back to the dealers as it developed some faults whilst I was 'Being a Hero in WA' more of that in another thread! LOL New clutch fitted, new Pedal box, New Head unit and Ariel and several 'bits' turned on, most likely to keep me happy, Auto locking, Cornering lights, tear wipe etc. Anyway, Fast forward a week and, Celtic remap has been done (massive difference in drivability noticed straight away) new custom exhaust measured up and ordered. I plan to fit the Eibach Pro Spring Kit I ordered in February in 2 weeks when I'm off work, I'm also looking at an injector upgrade and a new air box idea we have after a good VAG friend mentioned something. There will be more info over the coming weeks, I may just be starting a new thread with all the pics and information as half of these have disappeared.
  12. Looking good David... I'm finally back from my 'Summer working touring' in the US and you have done loads. I have a pile of parts to fit, but first the car is booked in for warranty work, and the bad weather is on its way, oh well, must update my thread. Good job though, thats impressive.
  13. I'm not going to make it either, got called out to the data centre at 2am, only just got back home, have a good day chaps!
  14. Just got back from the 'Uni run' 451 miles and averaged 58.8 mpg and I wasn't driving like 'Miss Daisy' right in the red, 6 miles left in the tank! It did really well keeping up with the motorway traffic, comfortable, no aches or pains and on the back road sections it was a hoot, the engine noise is getting better and better the more its used. On a long run, if you stick to 60-65 on the motorways, I recon its doable, just! Might try on the returning to uni trip, then again, may not as I enjoyed todays mileage...
  15. That's an unacceptable answer/solution in my opinion, we are not in the 50's and its still in warranty. I would definitely be going to another garage, out side of the Progress group, and getting it looked at again. As far as Ivan goes, I'm disappointed in his answer to you. In the 8 years I've been dealing with him I have always found him to be superb. I'll be having words with him on Monday when mine is in
  16. Now I'm driving a little more spritely, its showing up the fact those springs are way too soft, Note to self, really must find time next week to swap them out with the Eibach's!
  17. If you are in Letchworth GC, go to Progress Skoda and speak to Ivan in the service department, he's one of the good guys!
  18. Achieved nothing in the last month, apart from collecting parts. Work seems to be getting in the way Oh, did finally swap the retention plate over though.
  19. Very nice work! Looking great, I always had a soft spot for the unloved saloons
  20. Since reset mines now 51.8 after 135 miles, mainly short 2-10 mile journeys 285 left in the tank, so 420 (but that should mean 54 ish) Over the next 3 weeks I will be putting a couple of 500 mile journeys on it as its Easter break for my daughter at uni, I'm hoping things improve somewhat tbh. I always knew this wouldn't be as good as the 1.5DCi it replaced, but was expecting a little better considering other peoples results. Early doors though its just past the 800 mile mark
  21. I thought I did, but made sure I did this time :p
  22. So, real question here. I forced 35 litres in there today and I was on 1 mile remaining right in the red. Surely the tanks are all the same size, how are people getting 40L + in there? Edit: Oh and the PID seems to be the other way for me, stated 51.4mpg when it was actually 59.8.
