  1. What's the speed like when navigating through huge collections? Also, what's the Version C LED Screen RNS510 that somebody mentioned. If I buy a new Superb will I get that as an option?
  2. Title says it all. I'd also be interested in understanding how one does browse the Music on the Hard Disk / SD card. Is it database or just folders? Meaning, can one browse by Artist/Album/Genre/etc.? How fast is browsing on an SDHC? Does it offer gapless playback of tracks (think Abbey Road, Dark Side of The Moon, Dance mixes, etc.)? Previously somebody stated so but I wasn't really left feeling that he got what I meant.
  3. My Nokia N73 supports voice activated phone calls but not the address book.
  4. Same month and model. Since when did they introduce dimming door mirrors?
  5. That's quite a feat! Very few devices get this right. Thanks for all this information. Good. As I mentioned, I'd go for a 32 GB card. Now I have to check with my dealer if I can take out the Audience, fit in the Bolero and connect it to the Sound System. I'd probably fit in the MDI too, just to be safe for the future. Would the Bolero fit seamlessly on an Octavia II MY07?
  6. Yup, sorry. I searched and I found confirmation up till 32GB (which is logical, it either supports the SDHC standard or it doesn't). Now all I'm missing is info on how fast is navigating with a big hard disk iPod and how fast is with a 32GB SD Card (if somebody had a simple camera to do some YouTubing... that would be awesome and probably useful for many). And, if going iPod means getting the gapless playback.
  7. Thank you so much. You mention SDHC being supported, but I see that in the manual they're specifically excluded. I wonder if others could chime in regarding performance/speed with big SDHC, I'd be thinking about something like this: Sandisk SCHEDA MEMORIA SDHC ULTRA II 32 GB prezzi vendite offerte Sandisk SCHEDA MEMORIA SDHC II 32 GB prezzo With 32GB I'm sure I could survive Also, I have an Audience with the Sound System option. Would the Sound System be able to work with the Bolero/Columbus?
  8. Well... everything that you've come to use frequently. Not being familiar with the menus I'm not sure about what to ask for. Also, is there anywhere on the net a PDF of the manual, to have a look?
  9. Would you be so kind as to take some photos? Do I understand correctly that you have music coming both from SD and iPod? Would love to see the different user interfaces.
  10. So, let me get this clear: iPod slower but navigation through tags. No playlists generation from the car. Control through the touchscreen (I assume next track/previous track through wheel controls). SD, are SDHC supported? Gapless, it's eithere there or it's not. Is the transition in a gapless album totally seamless? Think Dark Side of the Moon, Disco mixes, Live concerts, progressive rock albums. I'm interested in this because it came relatively late to the iPod world and I'm used to having it since 2004 with Rio Karma. Going backwards 5 years later would really suck. Regarding the volume tags, I'll wait your check and, again, an enormous thank you for all this information. I have to say that I am always surprised by the lack of info on digital playback capabilities in modern cars. Portable music is light years ahead in flexibility and functionality. And thinking at the costs involved (thousands for cars, hundreds for portable solutions) it's really unbelievable (for me at least).
  11. Great! Thanks a lot! I would like to know, first and foremost, how you navigate the music. Just by folders or there is artist/album/genre/etc.? Is it somehow possible to generate playlists, adding stuff, removing it, etc? If you are using it with an iPod, does it playback music gaplessly (ie. without pauses where there should not be any, think The Dark Side of the Moon or live concerts)? Does it respect the volume tags (I'm used to Replaygain, but iPods call it differently; I'm referring to the tags that allow you to have music without volume jumping up and down if you mix and match songs from different albums. Photos would be awesome!
  12. Any update on this? I'd really like to have all the details on iPod or USB disks control.
  13. What is the thread you are referring to? I can't find it...
  14. Then I guess I need to take it to the service. I'm talking about significantly cool in the front and significantly warm in the rear. :(
  15. The temperature is the same for both left and right. Let's say 22°. I get cold air from the front and warm air in the back. Again, is it normal or should I call service?
  16. The lack of wiper in the rear is strange? Has anybody tried it with rain? It looks like a serious omission, doesn't it?
  17. As per subject. I often have this situation where the front vents have cool air coming out from them and the rear central vent (and the ones beneath the front seats pointing toward the back seats) is venting warm air. This makes for a very unpleasant ride, because... well... my bottom tends to feel uncomfortably warm and, being on leather seats, it's really bad. :thumbdwn: Does anyone have experience with something similar. Is it normal? Edit: forgot to mention, this is a MY07 L&K.
  18. Great... so the top of the line headunit has less connectivity options than the Stream... just great. And regarding the six disks, I already did that. But I have over 700 albums in my collection and, quite frankly, I remain baffled by the lack of options in car audio, when compared to portable audio. I want to spend 1.500 Euros and have a 200GB hard drive, with an easy to use interface, integrated in my headunit. In a world where the iPod is making people getting used to having their whole music library always with them... why is this still not doable?
  19. I have a MY07 Octavia II, with the Audience headunit (plus the 12 speakers Sound System option). I'm looking for a good way of integrating an iPod. I have the AUX input in the armrest, but I would like for a more integrated option. Ideally I would like to have some sort of dock on the dash, where I could slip in the iPod and have it charged while playing, controlling the music through the standard iPod controls (as I imagine the commands on the steering wheel would be a no-no). Any good option? I've looked at the amazing Harman Kardon Drive+Play 2 (Drive + Play / Drive + Play 2) but I can't see how one could get a stealth install of that kit. The knob could pass unnoticed (at night my car is in a garage anyway) but the display... there's no way of hiding it. I'm ready to spend some good money on this, but I'd like for the solution to be good. I'm surprised at the lack of options in this segment.
  20. ??? And so what? I'm just saying that it's surprising for a whole industry to react so slowly to such a revolution in music listening habits. And I'm referring to the whole MP3 phenomena that's been far, far wider than what iPod ever reached (even today). If a solution is crappy I can call it as I wish. I did not attack personally anybody. As such I really don't get your tone. And I suggested a better solution, a far better solution. It's called RioCar and it launched too many years ago. Too bad it was too ahead of its times. Well, if somebody would take offence for this... really, I'd feel sorry for him/her.In any case, I'm bailing out from this thread. I came in trying to understand what the big problem was in developing a technology that's been available for several years. I did not want to offend anybody and I do not feel that not appreciating somebody's gadgets equals not appreciating their owners. Sorry for anybody that doesn't feel the same, really.
  21. Can you do this through the iPod controls or through the controls on the wheel? Does it use the display on the head unit?
  22. Unfortunately, billybrown, this cradle stuff it's a f...... joke. Only very old phones are supported, if you need to buy a new one you're screwed and have the dashboard of your car perpetually ruined by a useless item.
  23. Happy you are enjoying it. For me it's still *unbelievable* that so crappy solutions are the only solutions available to use iPods in cars. I thought for a very long time about buying a used RioCar, but decided against it 'cause I don't like buying stuff that's been out of production for too long. But it still represents the only decent way of getting MP3 music in a car. Go figure...
