  1. Well chuffed with it, first panel I applied too thick, then possibly left it a bit long too, once I got the hang of it very pleasing.
  2. Holy thread resurrection batman! Ordered a tin of authentic and dark over the weekend, looking forward to it!!
  3. I ran a classic Impreza for ten years and the little Abarth is the closest thing I've had to a replacement, sorry for high jacking the thread but this lad on Facebook group is running the same spec as me, will need to get a good video of mine sometime.
  4. Cheers, you should hear the little monster great fun.
  5. It's certainly a strange one as we haven't encountered anything like this, I hope you get to the bottom of it. We looked at an A1, liked it but the boot size is truly awful.
  6. Bluecar1 is unfortunately wrong, as macamx said, you don't have to pay the excess mileage if you VT. The only circumstance that you will be charged the excess is if you hand the car back after your agreed full term and walk away. The best thing to do if you are worried is to wait till your settlement fee matches the trade in value of your car and change then, with no worries about excess mileage. I wouldn't worry about it to be honest, if you were doing twice the mileage or something yeh, but not for 3000 miles.
  7. Are you saying your balloon payment is only £340?
  8. We had a letter from our supplying dealer saying first service was due, quoted at £169. I phoned my local Skoda garage to compare and they quoted £109. Phoned supplying garage and queried this, they then said no problem we can do it for £99, they've got some cheek.
  9. No problems like this with ours, one of the better cars I've had tbh.
  10. Yeh, I'm not having a go it's just with the deposit you put down, your monthly payments and possibly only wanting to keep the car a couple of years, contract hire would have been a good option for you, Octavia VRS is that kind of money on pch.
  11. VT wouldn't help the OP in his situation though as by the looks of it he hasn't put down a big deposit so will be near the end of his agreement before he has paid the 50%+ he needs to hand it back. Out of interest are you actually planning to definitely VT yours after the 29 months? Seems crazy, why didn't you contract hire instead?
  12. Get a settlement figure for your car first then you can do most of the math yourself, there are plenty of free car valuation websites to give you a rough trade in value, then you have an idea if it's going to be viable before going to the dealer. Without knowing the details of your agreement I'm going to guess your figures won't be healthy unfortunately. I had to run my last PCP for 20 odd months to get close and was still in a bit of negative equity. Edit to say that we went for the Fabia estate when our baby was due and it's been perfect for the job, massive boot for its class so maybe consider one too.
  13. Good choice, I'm sure you will enjoy it, Sabelts are well cool. That's what we've got the Fabia estate for family duties, saying that I had the big buggy, baby and wife in the Abarth yesterday no problem.
  14. Nice one, the 180bhp in the competizione must be a hoot, no chance I could have talked the wife into spending that much unfortunately. Hope you like it.
  15. Ha, there was a bit of "discussion" shall we say when I said I was getting another one, I had promised something sensible like a c class merc but they're just too much fun, I've only had it a week and put a magneti marelli exhaust on it. Looking forward to doing the black but yeh I think it will be a challenge.
  16. I picked up my new Abarth 595 last Saturday, by the time I drove the 80 miles home the car was filthy so gave it a good wash, hopefully get some time this weekend for a good detail. My first ever black car so looking forward to the challenge. Lovely little beast and a few improvements over my old one, the fabia might have to take a back seat for a few weeks.
  17. We got the maxi-cosi family fix, fits fine in ours with just a slight limitation on passenger leg room. Have a look for combined deals, we got the base and 0+ seat and a group 1 seat all at the same time and saved £££ Definitely go isofix, much easier.
  18. Ours clears within seconds of turning on the ignition.
  19. Thanks for the replies, yes a manual would be my preference, the polo appeals to me more than a fiesta too, so much about it I like. It's the same for me, I like the feel of a small fast car but need the 5 doors. I've been quoted a PCP @ £16343 which includes manufactures contribution of £1400. That's with no options but I think I would go with the sports pack. I don't need to change until March but I'll maybe have a phone about and see what I can get sorted.
  20. I'm sorely tempted by a 5 door one of these and have had some decent offers through carwow, all the reviews I read however seem to focus on them not being fun to drive, I'd be trading in my 500 Abarth which is a hoot drive but too impractical for me now. Owners, Are they fun to drive? Should I hold on for the 5 door Fiesta ST to arrive. :s
