cheers cward thats what I was thinking, problem is getting the time to get it checked out of work. Typical teething issues with new (used) car thats probably been sitting for sometime!

Hi all, Bought my VRS 2011 two weeks ago, for the first few days it started first time every time. Now after 2 weeks of driving it now only starts in the morning after 2 or 3 turn overs. Only seems to be from cold, I have a 6 month warranty on the car. Do I give it a bit longer to see if its intermittent or are diesels just generally unhappy starting from cold?

Hi all, Bought a 2011 Octy VRS 2 weeks ago and have just entered my VIN number on the skoda check facility website. Turns out my engine is affected as is the Type EA 189 and they will be writing to me to confirm it needs to go in for a software update! The dealer said nothing about this before I bought it so I do feel a bit 'cheated' pardon the pun!! Has anyone else had this issue and anyone have any advice on what I should do? I understand it is only voluntary but I am now paranoid this car is not worth what I bought it for due to this issue. Generally not happy about this at all but then should have probably researched prior to buying it. What implications will this have? cheers all.

Cheers. CWARD I dont think I saw a lock on the handle? I probably gave it too much force as I used to on my old Passat, however I still wouldnt expect it to come off that easy. I'll have a chat to the trader who sold me the car see what he thinks.

Apologies if this has gone in before (did a search but couldnt find much on it) Picked up my 2011 Octy VRS on Sunday and today I went to open the bonnet, when I pulled the lever down by the drivers door the handle came off in my hand. It didnt really look broken and I managed to push it back on and then open the bonnet ok, however this doesnt seem normal? The rest of the car is so good and therefore it just surprised me it happened. I have a 6 month warranty but not sure if this will be covered will need to check. Anyone else had this issue? cheers

Good afternoon all. I am welcoming myself to the forums after finally entering the world of Skoda! Having just moved over from a VW Passat I am delighted to announce I am now the proud owner of a 2011 Octavia VRS in race metallic blue :clap: Although the Passat and I had seen many a journey together it finally started showing its age and with numerous issues with the car it was finally time to pass it on. I had been looking intently at the Octy VRS for some time and finally took the plunge and collected it with only 15,000 on the clock on Sunday. A very happy boy I am too! I have been looking for a forum and this seemed like the best place so hello all! Apologies also for my obvious username but have never been very good at coming up with original ones.
