  1. Thanks for all the suggestions and feedback. After a 300 mile round trip this last few days, I've come to the conclusion I need another inch reach and rake to be settled, and I've tried every which way to get it right. I may add some height to the drivers door armrest to see if that helps me get comfortable on a motorway stretch, but I'm going to ask my local dealer if there is room to give me the extra adjustment I would like. Other than that it's a great car.
  2. Yep, that's what bothers me. No idea why, it's not the seat itself. My bloody heel is killing me too. Never had this in any car I've ever owned
  3. As long as you specified the voice control option? Otherwise it's redundant. Siri works well if you have apple CarPlay fitted
  4. The seats are great btw.
  5. Thank you. I'm not trying to replicate the golf driving position, and one of the reasons I bought the yeti is because of the more upright and elevated driving style. And for easy access too. I deliver motorhomes all over the UK, so I'm used to many different driving positions, but I'm struggling with my own car. I seem to remember reading on this forum some issues with accelerator position problems too. I think it's a steering column issue, so I'll try to compensate with seat movement. Thank you
  6. Yes, the Golf was. GT, but had a great driving position. The Yeti is so much easier to get in and out of though.
  7. Hi all. So here's the thing. I collected my 2.0 TDi SEL DSG 4X4 in early May, and so far I really do like the car. I specified DAB radio and Apple CarPlay, both of which are excellent. I love the practicality, the performance and the happy disposition of the car, but.... I'm really struggling to get a comfortable driving position. I'm 6' 1" and usually have a seat back and low driving position, and I realise that isn't possible in the Yeti. I could do with the steering wheel another 1 inch of reach, and another inch lower, but as it is, for relaxed motorway driving I have to adopt a both hands hanging off the wheel, or right arm on the door rest, and left arm (just) on the armrest with a finger on the left hand connecting with the wheel. I'm not sure whether my right foot ache is down to accelerator position too? At the moment its spoiling my enjoyment of a really good car, and I'm sure it can be rectified (I hope). Anyone else, or is it just me being pedantic?
  8. Ordered my 2.0TDi SEL DSG on February 5th. Collecting it tomorrow!
  9. Great to hear such positive reviews. Mines now built and in transit to the port.
  10. Me too. Ordered Jungle Green 2.0d 150 DSG, SEL with black interior with DAB and Smartlink. I saw an example in the dealers compound, and I've always had black or grey cars and fancied a change! Hope I've done the right thing. It's my first Skoda.... Built this week and delivery is mid April.
  11. As its my first Skoda, and I've been stung by the VW scandal, I've decided to lease the Yeti on order then take a view after handing it back in 3 yrs time. Hopefully then diesel gate will have subsided and I'll know what I want to do. Relatively inexpensive and no depreciation to worry about this time
  12. I currently run a Golf 2.0 140 GT, and I've ordered a Yeti last week. I'm not px'ing my car, I'll sell privately, but when I enquired re PX for a used Golf recently, I was offered around £1600 less than I expected in exchange. This concurs with an article discussed on Radio 4 recently, discussing VW owners losses. There are a few solicitors putting together no win no fee cases in the event VW don't reimburse owners of "cheat" cars like mine, or they lose power and fuel efficiency after the fix. The consensus is that after signing up several thousand cases, £1600 is the average loss owners of affected VW's have lost when selling their cars. I thought the only affected VW group 2.0 TDi cars, are MK6 Golfs, and similar Passats? Are Skodas also in the mix? I'm assuming the car I've ordered is a Euro 6 compliant car, and not subject to the scandal. This being the case are recent Skodas also not affected just as Golf 7's are clear too?
  13. Hi Colin We're not sure what 'van we will go for. We sold our motorhome last June and so far we haven't missed it. However we do miss weekends away with brother in law and we may buy a cheapie for those occasions, and the odd foray abroad. We don't want to invest a lot into a caravan... It s very much an afterthought. The reason I went for the 2.0 150 TDi 4X4, is simply because I have the predecessor 140 PS engine in my Golf and it's a cracker. I also wanted DSG, hence the choice. I retired a year gone September, sold my company and handed back my E350 and bought the Golf as an interim car but I've loved it. Next door has a Yeti L&K, and I like the Skoda brand, so we decided to go for it! I'm sure I won't be dissapointed:-)
  14. Thank you Carlo. That's good to know
  15. Thanks Ian, that's good to hear. I considered the lighter interior too, but I think I'll plump for "safe" black. My Golf has brilliant mpg, averaging 50 plus and more on runs. I'm assuming especially with DSG I will be in the mid 40' s on average. Do you know what your achieving with yours?
  16. Hello everyone. I'm a new convert to the brand, and have ordered a Yeti SE L 2.0TDi 4X4 DSG. I have yet to confirm colour for a factory build, but I think I'm going for Jungle Green having spent a lifetime with grey and black BMW's and Mercedes. I was offered a similar deal for a 1.4TSi L&K manual, and I have test driven an Octavia with that engine. I found it very smooth, quiet and responsive, but missed the surge of torque I'm used to with a diesel. (My current golf being one of the "cheat" cars). The door is still open for me to go for the 1.4, but I have to confirm very soon for factory order. I do intend tow tow a small caravan going forward, and would welcome any comments on the agonising choice of model and colour! By the way, the staff at Hortons in Lincoln are excellent. Nothing has been too much trouble. Thank you
