  1. Thanks, gone for a Jaguar E-Pace. Cheaper per month than the Karoq! EU emission regs wtlp or whatever it's called was the reason given. Not enough people to do checks. So nothing whatsoever to do with Brexit.
  2. After almost three years of Skoda ownership with my Superb it's time to say goodbye to the brand. We ordered a new Karoq Edition back in July 2018 to replace the Superb, with a delivery date of late October. October came and went, so did November and December, at which point the dealer advised we would be lucky to see it before the end of January. So order cancelled. Was advised when it did finally arrive we would be notified, just in case we changed our minds, but as nothing has been heard I guess it isn't in the country yet. No blame on the dealer, this seems to be all down to Skoda not able to cope with new emissions regulations.
  3. In response to the touchscreen responses. If the sat nav is working the touchscreen is fine, but the media simply won't play.
  4. Thanks. They have admitted it's a known problem and have had several videos, the car has been in six times, yesterday they tried to install the update three times via SD card, this morning it failed again :-(
  5. Has anyone else had an issue with their Columbus media player in cold temperatures? If the temperature falls close to freezing mine will not play music from the SD card, occasionally the phone does not connect/operate and the same with the sat nav. It has been to the dealers six times now and they confirm it is a known issue, but seem unable to cure it with the factory update. Once the car has warmed through a hard reset brings it all back to life.
  6. 2wd and, normal mode is still pretty slick as well. Bearing in mind my previous car was an E320 merc so I'm comparing with something with a bit of get up and go as well.
  7. I must have a dodgy 190 as in sport mode away from a junction it's like the proverbial s** t off a shovel with tyres struggling to grip and traction control light flashing like a good un.
  8. Excellent ride quality in mine with 18" wheels.
  9. Once I saw that someone called Tiny Temper was billed to appear I concluded I wasn't part of the target audience any more. I am starting to enjoy watching reruns of Fifth Gear, a show that had passed me by up until now.
  10. Sunroof means that you have no sunglasses holder and there are no convenient places to put them in reach. Have you found the little cubbie-hole down by the driver's right knee position. It took me about two weeks to discover that was there, and should be OK for glasses.
  11. Reaction from the old TG team! https://www.facebook.com/dailydoseuk/videos/1733623553522128/
  12. We visited Tromso in March 2015, a lovely city and wonderfully friendly people.
  13. Will do. Our trip takes us from Bergen to Myrkdalen, where we will be based for a week of touring/sightseeing. I have a few locations already in the sat-nav, including Vik (Sognefjord), Flam, and Folgefonna National Park, but if you have any other ideas feel free to let me have them. Thanks again for the link, it was helpful.
  14. Many thanks for that confirmation. I will have a look at the link and proceed with care once I am behind the wheel ☺
  15. I have to drive in Norway in a few weeks time and checking the basic rules of the road it states give priority to the right. Does anyone know of this means something like prioritie a droit in France where cars coming from side roads have priority?
  16. Early 50s seems to be the default on reasonable journeys. I have less than 2000 miles on the car so far, so early days for experimenting with driving style :-)
  17. Kent to Devon and back at a total average over 430 miles of 55mpg. Going down to Devon using ACC most of the way I achieved 50mpg, coming back I drove and managed 60mpg indicated on Maxidot (so 1-0 to the human :-)) 190 SE-L Exec Hatch
  18. I guess we are all different, but our E class was the Avantgarde, so in theory a softer ride, but after an hour we would both have numb bumbs, and 1.5/2 hours in my wife would suffer from a deaf leg! We felt every bump as if the suspension had been lowered, almost. This trip in addition to the drive to Halifax, we ended up in Stoke for the night (we know how to live LOL). Around 7 hours in the car and no issues whatsoever, apart from all the dead bugs on the windscreen ☺
  19. I tend to use the A1 adds a bit of time (possibly), but I find it a more interesting, less stressful drive. Downside are the two lanes and truck doing their 1mph differential overtakes!
  20. Had to travel from Kent to Halifax Thursday so a great opportunity to give the Superb 190 DSG a good run as it had less than 150 on it at the start. Lots of stop start driving until I got through the Dartford tunnel, then by some miracle the M25 was flowing freely. So on went ACC, set at 75 and it didn't come off until I came off the M62 in Yorkshire. What a relaxed drive, due to the ACC and the comfort amd quiet cabin of the Superb. MPG for the journey 58mpg. Which I was very happy with given how new the engine is. Coming from a Mercedes E350, the Superb is by far a superior place to be for a long journey.
  21. If combined with CCTV it will. Or a simple confrontation in front of other parents may just solicit a confession.
  22. Take a stroll along all the cars when the morons come to pick up little Johnny and see who has a colour match for your Superb on their car.
  23. Spoils to lines in my opinion, so I went without it. Early days with my car (only 150 miles in) so too early to say whether I made the right decision in terms of whether the wiper is a necessity in terms of keeping the rear screen clear. There is always the Squeegee before setting off in a morning as I would clear the side windows with that anyway.
  24. Funny she describes it as not cool, when we told our 27 year old son we were getting a Skoda Superb, he virtually disowned us, he had his first look and ride in it yesterday and without prompting uttered the word....Cool☺
