  1. Brecon in mid wales, dont mind a drive if it will sort out the headlights :)
  2. can I purchase a VCDS? would it be simple enough for an idiot to do? can someone briefly explain what I need and how much it will cost? I don't have a laptop so could it be a stand alone unit? cheers Mike
  3. I have been under there just checked the rear sensor, there looks like a new screw has been put in at the end of the rod on the sensor, I suspect they didn't unscrew it before changing the spring and didn't notice before they unbolted the wheel arm, seems to be working ok though, I have a bit of weight in the boot to settle the springs a bit but lights still too low, seems like a reset of the range controller might resolve the issue, cheers for the advice, Mike
  4. Hi there, coil spring snapped on my 2009 L&K estate last week, ats replaced with kyb springs and they sit a little high on the arches but presumably they will settle after a couple of weeks, however my headlight beam is too low now and makes it difficult to drive at night possible causes? could the rear sensor have been damaged when they swapped out the springs? or would a headlight reset fix the issue? if so would this be a dealer job or could a backstreet garage perform this? the lights are still doing the start up sequence when turned on so this means the motors etc are working fine. its annoying cause I have had the car 8 years and the lights are the best feature about it, and now they are buggered :) cheers Mike
  5. This is a smart car indeed, good price aswell, I am starting to regret buying a citroen xsara hdi as a runabout, I should of stumped up the extra wedge and bought summit with a bit of pace like this one for sale, Good luck with the sale mate
  6. W reg (2000) er 500, I am the 3rd owner, localy owned from new, great condition, paintwork is a lovely metallic red, Fitted with rentec rack and small front screen,Ideal commuter bike, cheap to run and insure, I changed the oil and filter last week, Long tax and mot (may 2014)Bike is in brecon (wales) £1395 takes it away, I will take some pics when I get a mo,Cheers
  7. g tee, I took the highest bid I received in the end mate, I dont know why it was hard to sell, maybe because I didnt own it long, but the car was absolutely lovely and the more I used it the more I liked it, beleive it or not according to the maxidot it was doing better mpg than my old fabia tdi over the 2.5k I drove it, up to a combined 73.5 mpg on my way to work one day (40 miles)
  8. g_tee I think its sold mate, all done apart from the cash changing hands, the car drives fantastic, and if I didnt need to sell then I would of kept it for a very time, the longer I drive and use it the more I am taken by the dsg and the engine, I cant see me replacing it for a better car, unless I spend more money that I havent got :(
  9. And chris, yes still for sale, Its going in the local paper this week so fingers crossed, I
  10. aircon yes, works a treat, however Jim just bought it, and just drove off in it, cheers Jim Mike
  11. Right gave it a quick wash today, looks like another 2 tyres are borderline (probably need replacing) however as a trade-off I will leave the sony bluetooth head unit in, cant say fairer than that hears a few pics, the car is a bit rough and ready but with a bit of maintenance and attention would ensure it stays as a reliable family car for years to come, the PAS works 100% never had a problem, the timing belt has only been changed once in 2007,
  12. 2 more things to mention, Bit of damp behind drivers seat and handbrake needs tightening, Apart from all the points listed the car is A1
  13. This car has been my work hack for the last 2 1/2 years, its been super reliable and only for sale because I cant manage to sell my octavia (on another thread) so I'll start using the octavia for work instead. Mot is up next month, a couple of things will need attention Brakes, work fine but prob need new discs/pads soon. CV joint on f/o/s clicks on full lock- been like it for 6 months, not getting any worse, 1x tyre, couple of other things, not for mot and never really bothered me, the module in drivers door lock that tells the car when the door is open is knackered, the heater sometimes sticks to hot, a bit of fiddling with the switch soon sorts it out, the A/C still work though light scrape has been touched in on bottom of front bumper, 2 owners from new 170k miles on the clock (barely run in) the engine pulls like a train, clutch and gearbox works as it should, I use the car for an 80 mile commute to work every day,100% reliable. 2x keys all paperwork etc for very little effort and money this car would be a great buy, if I could do the bits that need doing myself then I would, but I cant so I thought I'd let it go now, £500, no offers, its probably the cheapest pd 1.9 tdi available Car and me are in brecon, mid wales
  14. Cheers phil, many thanks, the maxidot looks great and if I were keeping it I would put a bolero stereo in and that would freshen it up lovely, Regards Mike
  15. Here's some of the details of my lovely octavia for sale, slight change of plan about what I want to replace it, but I'm open to almost anything, as long as its a manual and in very good condition. 57000 miles on the clock 2005 octavia hatch 2.0tdi dsg (140bhp) all the toys on it inc heated seats full service history, (not skoda) cambelt done at 37000 miles recent service inc front brakes long mot and tax both keys, all paperwork including loads of service reciepts, and all old mot's to prove mileage very very good condition, must be seen and driven, only fault is reversing sensors dont work 100% of the time. I am only selling this car as my wife doesnt like driving an automatic, so I will be looking for a manual as a replacement, any interest in a swop/part ex with a petrol octavia vrs , may be able to put a few pennies towards a nice one. £4495 ono car and me in Brecon, S wales. 16. I have been offered 4k in part exchange but I would have to put money towards its replacement, I would rather not go down that route, sounds strange but I prefer to sell and then buy privately
  17. Yeh I know what your saying mate, allthough ebay has a lot of rubbish on there, this car is too good to let go for the same money as an ex minicab with a gazilion miles on it, I dont mind waiting for the right buyer to come along, its nice driving to work in comfort for a change
  18. Right come on chaps, it didnt sell on ebay so I am refucing the price again to £4590 ONO will also swop/deal with a decent manual car (cash either way) anything considered, my wife does not drive this and she has borrowed my work hack untill this is sold, its too good for me to rack the miles up on it
