  1. That’s brilliant. Thanks for taking the time to upload them again. The distance from the bumper has plenty of clearance. The vertical distance looks right on the nose though.
  2. The clearances all look tight. We’ve a caravan on order and have the retractable towbar on our skoda. I have some concerns of clearances. Did the al-ko 3004 fit the factory retractable towbar?
  3. It felt more under the car. I'm guessing when I drove down the kerb, the front wheels went over then the area behind the front wheels caught the top of the kerb.
  4. Drove to the matched . Parked in the normal car park except I was asked to drive up a kerb onto the grass. All ok. When I left, drove down the kerb in my full Skoda Superb estate very carefully. Scrapped/banged the car underneath. Its playing on my mind - should I be worried? What do I look for?
  5. Love leather. Wouldn't have any different. I suspect you'll get as many loving as hating. I personally don't find them cold in winter (heated seats) and never noticed it sweaty in summer. Had leather seats in various cars for the last 15 years and always a preferred option well worth the money.
  6. I second that. Carwow is effectively a digital marketplace where competing dealers tender for your business. You have no contract with Carwow. We did 2 specs for our Skoda (lower and higher) and got around 6 competitive each for our business. A range of discounts and more generous for the higher spec. Our local dealer doesn't work with Carwow so they were all further afield. A simple email to the (excellent) sales guy at our local dealer and he undercut the best Carwow price. No haggling required. He was fully aware of Carwow and clearly had a policy to deal with it. Very happy with the price. A good generous discount. Not NCD levels but well on its way there and I was more than delighted. Carwow takes the legwork out of buying a car. it also removes the need to haggle in an area I have little experience or skill.
  7. From the manual - Driving in the engine The engine has to be run in during the first 1 500 kilometres. During this period, the driving style decides on the quality of the driving-in process. During the first 1 000 km we recommend not driving faster than 3/4 of the maximum permissible engine speed, not to drive at full throttle and to dispense with the trailer. In the area of 1,000 to 1,500 kilometres the engine load can be increased up to the maximum permitted engine speed.
  8. I appreciate the NCD route has delivered bigger discounts until the recent halt, but have to say Carwow did a great job of dealing with the haggle 'virtually' and just cut to the chase. After spec in a SE L Exec, carwow went off and did its market placement thing and came back with a wide range of offers ranging from pretty good to very good. I showed the best offer to my local dealer (who wasn't on Carwow) , they chipped a little bit off and I completed the order with them. All via email. No messing. No haggling. No intakes of breath. No 'I'll get the ask the manager' while simply standing behind a plant for 5 mins pretending to be negotiation on your behalf. I wouldn't have been able to do that in person. I don't have the knowledge or skill to outmanoeuvre a crack team of ninja salespeople. Very happy with the price I paid. Dealer happy to have a no nonsense, low hassle sale to push through his books. Happy customer.
  9. What is the bog standard WLAN for? I set my fruit based mobile phone to be a personal hotspot then connected the car to it (WLAN). Why would I do that? will my life be better? Note it's not the premium options - just the off the factory line bog standard superb WLAN. (sorry if this has been asked before, I've seen various WLAN threads but could work out the answer)
  10. I half wished I had added front sensors, but couldn't justify the price for what is mostly already built in. A couple of extra sensors and a dealer only software tick. I'll just learn to know the front limits. It is a mistake by Skoda though as SE L Exec should have all that SE Biz has plus some.
  11. It's the one thing they should have included as standard.
  12. Not a fan of the sub and aux ports outside the cubby hole in one of the earlier posts.
  13. I received a follow up call from my dealer today. Terrific service from Nick at Ridgeway Reading.
  14. Nick at Reading Skoda handled my purchase. He was outstanding. Highly recommended.
  15. I prefer full leather seats. Had them in all my cars over the last 15 years and never felt there was a problem in summer. They've only ever had heaters in them, not ventilation. Easy to look after and looks smart even when they crease. I find material or alcantara look tired after a while. But that might be me being a messy sod.
  16. A couple of paragraphs here and there he quite clearly couldn't fault it. Perhaps even begrudgingly likes it. And that's what has wound him up. Hence lots of padding about it not being a 600bhp sportscar
  17. Must have been on the same boat afterall. Picking mine up Friday. Just over 11 weeks from order. A couple of weeks ahead of the dealer estimate.
  18. A pick up is looking hopeful this week. Any tips to look out for when picking up the new car? Obvious stuff is to check the ordered extras but the rest? I've made a note to check umbrellas and 3 cargo nets in the boot. Sorry if there is another thread but couldn't see one.
  19. Seems to come up on VW forums too. There are a few videos on YouTube resetting system and various other system stuff if you search VW climatronic There might be an answer hidden in a video somewhere.
  20. It's arrived at the UK port. Hopefully I can get my hands on it at the end of next week.
  21. Sadly I'm in same position. Car has been waiting for a space on a ship for 2 weeks.I've a road tax, service and an MOT due on my old car which I'd prefer to avoid.
  22. A mate's last generation VW Passat had the same problem. Intermittent, random but enough to be mentioned. Never resolved.
  23. Sadly my new car remains sat at the dock waiting for a place on the ship to bring it over to the UK. To be fair, the dealer warned me 50/50. Disappointed all the same. Means it's still weeks away.
