Many thanks, went out this morning, used both suggestions re-booted and used voice control to switch off and back on. and there she is loud and clear. Brilliant forum.

I can not get any sound to the sat nav announcements, I have gone through all the sections without luck. have visual directions but no voice,I have used voice control to ask for it to be switched on and the kind lady tells me that it is switched on so there is sound there.Either the previous owner or I have inadvertently switched it off. What are the dangers of going back to factory settings in Nav and starting from scratch?
