my centre rear headrest will only move up and down about 1" and I can't remove it. is this normal?

So I've collected the car. The automatic parcel shelf only opens to the intermediate position automatically and I didn't receive the multifunction pocket either - I'm really not sure what I've spent the £120 on given that others are saying theirs opens to the intermediate position automatically with pout having specified the option! Bit mythed and not sure how to take it up with the dealer - SE L executive model btw

thanks for the responses. it's on hire purchase. the salesman suggested that I don't pre buy te servicing plan as if I do the option where the car works out when it wants a service I might only need one in the 3 year lease period - does that make sense?!

when you by a new S3 from a dealer do you get a free service several months after you take delivery just to check everything's ok? I remember getting this on a new Volvo a few years ago.

Derv - it's manual so no dsg paddles. re boot release I was convincing myself as you that they are little pointless as the I'll have to remove the kids car seats before dropping them anyway so it's not hard to pull the traditional levers anyway and if you say headrests and seatbelt a still get in the way it's almost pointless except for being a good party piece!

yes I have specd the colour maxi dot already. forgot about that one ! I like the heated front screen had an old ford escort ghia that had that years ago and it was great but I'm a bit loathed to pay the best part of £300 for it when it only gets used a handful of times over the year. i think it sounds like I'm going for the LED package.

I keep reading all these treads about enabling some features by VCDS after purchase. is this easy to do ones self without much expense or are their ppl on forum who can do it?! reading your replies the more I'm leaning towards the LED package plus

Right I've cancelled the £120 'automatic retractable parcel shelf option' as it turns out you get a parcel shelf as standard on the SE L executive so I've still got the another option or mix of options to go with up to a value of £200 out of the following: Travel assist with traffic sign recognition £85 less discount Heated windscreen washer jets £50 less discount Sun blinds for rear side windows £175 less discount Rear backrest release from boot £90 less discount Fold flat front passenger seat £100 less discount LED package plus £195 less discount Car is a SE L exec Combi corrida red with 18" Pegasus alloys Options already going for Space saver spare wheel Partition screen netting Will be a family car for wife and 1 baby and 1 4 year old. I can't decide but am leaning towards just the LED light package or travel assist with heated windscreen nozzles......... Help! Need to tell garage tomorrow

is the sunset glass any good at actually blocking out sun? kids will be in the back and thinking of sunny days and weather it's worth getting the retractable door blinds or not!

also, dealer told me that the 2 bars with the fabric between comes as standard so pretty sure that's not the £120 option. not sure what extra to swap the £120 I've saved for now...... remote rear seat drop levers or the retractable sun shades to the rear doors for the kids!

Nick_H - thanks very useful I will raise with dealer again. that said your explanation says the same thing for the L&K and the SE L - can you check your wording and confirm that he SE L comes with a fully retractable cover as standard the can be programmed to auto open half way!?

can someone clarify. my understanding was/is from the dealer that as standard you don't get a retractable parcel shelf. I've therefore paid for the £120 option. they said you get the 2bars with a piece of fabric between as standard (a raised storage net thingy if you will).

placed my order on Wednesday 24th Feb. SE L Executive estate, corrida red, 18" Pegasus alloys, leather/alcantara, extras spare wheel, colour maxi dot, rubber mats, portion screen net, retractable parcel shelf. initially told BW21 but been revised to BW17 which reading ppls posts on here seems pretty good! the problem with the wait is that I keep having different thoughts over various decisions like leather alcantara vs all leather, and going for the red, or should I add in remote boot release for rear seats etc.
