  1. I’m having issues with Apple CarPlay and one suggestion I read was to ask the dealer to run a software update. However before doing so can anyone confirm the latest software version ? My current config is below. Thanks
  2. A new company car means that after only 6 months I need to sell on my Octy Skoda Octavia SE 1.2 TSI Manual 5 Door Hatchback 2015 65 Plate in Denim Blue Just under 5000 miles In absolutely excellent condition and just had its first oil service with West End Garage Edinburgh. In addition to standard SE spec includes Cruise Control, Rain Sensor, Automatic Lights, Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror, Tinted Windows from B Pillar and Spare Wheel. In addition Autoglym Lifeshine applied with lifetime guarantee. Manufacturer/Dealer Warranty until 1/9/2018. First class example and as I say new company car forces sale. No outstanding finance. Test drives welcome but only on production of valid full driving licence and evidence of fully comprehensive insurance cover. Car is located in Midlothian (5 minutes from the Edinburgh City Bypass)
  3. Thanks for the replies, pleased to advise that dealer changed the seals without a discussion. Have tested and all now good.
  4. Getting first service tomorrow and have asked them to look at front door seals as they are holding water - I fully expect to be fobbed off by the garage - can someone let me know what the part numbers are for the correct door seals that correct this problem. Thanks
  5. I think you're looking at c.15k - 20k (maybe a bit more on the rears). I am in the same position and am looking around for quieter tyres (Michelin cross climates get good reviews)
  6. 3 weeks and 600 miles in and I can make a sensible assessment. I have come to Skoda off the back of an A3 sportback 1.6 Tdi which I have given back as I have left the company I worked for on voluntary redundancy (yippee!) so its a bit unfair to compare a Skoda to an Audi but previous cars have included several VW Passat's and a Golf so they are a fairer comparison. The Skoda is of similar build quality with plenty of the cabin switch gear resembling that found in VW, it is well put together and to be honest much better than I was expecting (probably better built than my Mk6 Passat and Mk6 Golf). However, it is a far noisier ride than the VW's so I guess they save money by scrimping on the sound proofing, and initially I had the dreaded boom with a feeling of nausea and earache when I drove the car, however since I put some silent coat down on the boot floor, put a deep layer of carpet underlay underneath the carpet and tightened up the hatch bumpers this is much improved, albeit over rough surfaces it is still noisier than I would like but as I say I'm coming to this after driving an Audi. I have also fitted a bonnet liner but not sure that has made a huge difference as all the noise comes from the road (some of that will also be down to the Conti 5's) I have a couple of other minor gripes including water in front door sills (but I has exactly the same problem in my last Passat so its clearly a VAG issue) but all in all I am pleased - its a great car with plenty of space and well spec'd for the money and given its cost I am prepared to put up with its shortcomings.
  7. Have just bought this using the 10% discount code and full replacement cover came in it a smidge under £100. Never been a big fan of GAP as perceived it as costly but clearly shopping around (and using Briskoda code) proved me wrong !
  8. Hi, I'm just outside the bypass in Midlothian but work in the city !
  9. I used silent coat deadening mats and underlay and seems to work, although doesn't help with the earache but then I suspect that's a different problem !
  10. Took delivery of my Mk3 Octy last week and every time I'm driving the car within 5 minutes I get earache and the feeling of build up of pressure in my ears which is then followed by feeling sick. The cabin is quite noisy with a bit of the boom others have discussed but it's not that bad but there is a lot of road rumble especially from the rear end and boot area. I'm going to put some dampening mats and insulation in the boot area to see if it helps but does anyone have any ideas/thoughts on this ? Thanks
  11. Hi any chance of the update details in a pm ? Thanks
  12. Took delivery of my new Octavia SE 1.2 tsi in denim blue yesterday. Was dealer stock so didn't get any choice in colour or options (light assist, cruise control, sunset glass included) but am very happy with it and got a great deal. Coming off an Audi A3 sport back company car I had some doubts and whilst it's not up there with the Audi it compares favourably with the VW Golfs and Passats I have had over the last 10 years. So far so good, hope it continues !!
