  1. Apologies for the long post in advance ! Long and short of it I have had my Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo Black Edition tsi 1.2 in dry garage storage for about two years on and off. Since covid then redundancy I took it off the road. Anyway I am due to start a new role in a few weeks and the car went for a service and MOT which was done and it passed ,new discs and pads oil and filter change and a few other minor checks and advisories to consider. Prior to taking the car off the road all working fine no issues at all but a few of the following niggling faults developed. 1. Interior light failed to come on upon door opening and fading off when closing. 2. Electric drivers window behaved erratically and intermittently 3. Alarm was going off randomly Now as it was now garaged and parked up I didn't think to much about it or was too concerned as it was now surplus to requirements. During the last 12 months a new battery was purchased and put on the car to periodically turn it over and run it. Fair to say that everything was fine until I left this process for over four weeks only to find the new battery dead when I tried to start the car. Now I assume the drain on the battery was due to the alarm system or similar auxiliary power needs. And as the car was not charging the battery through the alternator with daily use I simply put it down to this. Left the car for anther six months as it was now sorn and had no MOT but went to charge the battery up and attempt to turn it over. The alarm sounded and I couldn't turn it off with the key remote. Several attempts and finally disconnected the main battery only to hear the alarm continuing (now due to the internal battery within the siren unit ) This eventual drained too and the car was silent. A few further attempts over the following week to resuscitate the car without the alarm going off, Sometimes it worked others times it didn't the car wouldn't lock, dashboard going crazy with all the warning lights, various electrical components failed and then jumped back into life on another attempt as if no faults at all. This has been the case until this week. Managed to get the car started pumped up the flat tyre and took it for the service and MOT. Brakes replaced, oil and filter changed and off to the MOT station. The car performed flawless through the MOT but when they parked it up the alarm went of and they couldn't switch it off again. A mains battery disconnected and reconnect finally resolved the issue again. The car was collected and parked up at the other garage ready for my collection. The repair mechanic said he had to remove the siren as it kept going off and the cars electrics were faulty and that despite having a fresh MOT it wasn't safe to drive. Another day with him and an auto electrician called in to try and find the fault. Another £100.00 later as was told he had never seen a fault like this and suggested it was probably down to the BCM module based on his work and findings. Despite me asking them to check the door micro switches, bonnet catch clean and reset tailgate lock, earth straps battery and alternator outputs Drivers door wiring looms etc... and all manner of helpful advise based on the information these forums they reportedly found nothing afoot. Attached is the fault codes not VAG COM. LAUNCH x diagnostics tool codes. I picked the car up today and the bloody thing was dead on the key fob. Alarm siren sitting on the passenger seat having been removed as advised Opened the door with the key in the lock and started the car straight up no issues - All windows working, lights horn wipers etc.... door locking inside switch heated seats radio. Took the car home about 1/4 mile and parked it up in the garage and all was well. Locked the car flashing lights, doors all closed door red led flashing correctly ALL GOOD. Decided to go back out 30 minutes later to check over a few things and car was all over the shop again. Wouldn't open with the key fob, no dash lights, main head lights no indicators etc... etc.... but running fine except now I has the ESP traction control warning light pop up and would not disappear despite a few attempts at shutting the car down and starting again. Unable to lock the car on the fob so did so on the key - no red door light not alarm indicator flash just the central locking clicking into place. Now booked in with an Audi VW and German car specialist to check the see what they can find leaving me only a few days grace to source find clone and ensure I have a working BCM module and no other faults that need fixing, and if that is in fact that is the fault. I am not 100 % sure it is all I know is my car has been processed by the DEVIL ! Attached is the BCM model still in the car if anyone has any advice on a spare/ pre programmed VAG COM Skoda repair / replacement and or reliable cloning service they have used that is reasonably price just in case this part is needed I am all ears. Main dealers is simply not an option. With the alarm siren not fitted that's £245 alone to replace at dealer prices not to mention the £100.00 to fit it which takes about 10 minutes. NO THANKS !!!! Hope this helps someone else - keep you posted
