  1. I'm looking to add wig wag high beam flasher to my 2019 Superb SE , I already have this functioning on my 2018 SE model using wire 8 on the headlight plug, however the 2019 is slightly different and this wire doesn't operate the high beam. Has anyone got a wiring diagram or schematic of the headlight function? Thanks
  2. My passenger wing mirror was smashed off the other day and when he examined it the aluminium hinge has been sheared off. What's the cheapest and easiest way rather than buying a totally new one. I've taped it on for the moment
  3. Both my low beams stopped worked simultaneously, is that coincidence or a relay ? Anyone had similar before I go rummaging
  4. Just cut the plug off where the fraying is and solder about 20 cm wires onto the ones coming out of the rubber thing then that gives you enough room to attach the other ends to the plug ( use shrink wrap tubing to cover the joins ), then when that's done you can pull through any slack into the door. I had a old washing machine loom hanging about in the garage which fortunately has many different coloured wires so I used these
  5. I too stripped down the rear door until I saw this thread. All the time wondering why would the wire go faulty on a hardly used door lol The rubber boot looks really nice but just hides some ordinary tightly stretched wires
  6. I had the same with my rear door, first it wouldn't lock then the window wouldn't work, turns out it's the drivers door wire in the rubber gaiter , So I cut the whole plug off I spliced and soldered mine with extra pieces of wire, took me about 4 hours, a right nuisance . 3 wires snapped and about 5 on the verge of snapping, the remainder nearly all had cracked insulation. I think skoda need to change their wire supplier! I'm surprised the pos and neg didn't short out as they were right next to each other without insulation as you can see
  7. I thought about doing it myself but it's too much aggravation , your local garage will have the correct tools and will give you a guarantee as well just in case it goes pop after a few miles. It'll probably take me a weekend to do whereas garage takes about 4 hours
  8. After a few flat battery mornings on my superb , I've discovered the glove compartment light stays on now and again so I've remove the bulb
  9. It's the re-circulating air flap control motor that's at fault, I've just taken it out, it hasn't been working for ages and everything else works
  10. Removed the Glove box and the thing that's making the noise is a motor oscillating and moving that orange mechanism https://s.amsu.ng/Rf3oqUEqqZHN
  11. everything functions correctly, it's like I have an animal in there, going to have a go at dismantling the glove box area tomorrow
  12. I've noticed a creaking from below eh glove compartment , here's the noise : https://linksharing.samsungcloud.com/contents/view?contentsToken=1525170454311C7doQlh&currentIndex=1 it's getting right on my nerves, any ideas? I've got the heater unit and radio switched off
  13. "The latest diesel car engines are equipped with the innovative three-phase glow technology (pre-heating — heating during starting — post-heating). This means: the glow plug not only heats prior to and during the starting phase, but also up to 180 seconds after starting. This protects the environment and the engine. "
  14. note to self "don't buy petrol VAG engines"
  15. Diesels are like that, they have to rely on the glowplugs to keep them going when cold
  16. Ive got the Mk2 4x4 TDF, I wouldn't bother again if and when I get a mk3
  17. Had to bump start mine again , had a new battery 6 months ago, flat as a pancake this morning! Grr Who said Skoda's were reliable? These cars must have some software fault that drains the battery
  18. It's a good job our government is ruggedly honest and has the country's best interest at heart..........
  19. I only do the basic stuff like change the oil and filter, I'll do pads and disks if I feel energetic
  20. When it all comes crashing down the brexiters certainly wont be taking responsibility, they are already in denial
