Evening all My Mrs has an 09 reg fabia and yesterday her EPC light appeared on the dashboard and then shortly after the EDL too. I got it read on a laptop and the codes came back as the brake light switch. Her brake lights don't work but the high level one does but stays dimly lit at all times until the pedal is pressed. We have checked all the bulbs and they haven't blown. She bought a new switch and I fitted it but the problem is still there with exactly the same issue. I have done a bit of digging round the net but can't seem to come up with much except possibly going to the main dealers for an 'up to date' switch? Any help will be greatly appreciated, as no doubt she will blame it all on me again soon Cheers

Sorry to bring up an old thread. Exactly the same thing has happened to my mrs car. I cleaned it out yesterday for her and now her display isnt working. Ill try the battery disconnect later. What a poor design if that happens. How are you supposed to clean it in future?

Well the noise started to get worse and we found out we were fobbed off (no surprise there) and it is indeed the waterpump. So its booked in for next Friday.

Well. Just got it back and apparently that noise is normal for the engine that it is??

Its booked in this week to be fixed. Another guy reckons it's the water pump or something to do with a pulley.

I popped round to my next door neighbour and he listened to it and reckons it could be the water pump bearing. I am going to take it to a garage tomorrow and see what they say and then take it back to where we got it from and get them to fix it

Hi all. We have a Fabia 2 1.4 petrol on an 09 plate and it's making a strange noise when running. To me it sounds like a belt. Can anybody help via listening to this link https://youtu.be/rf5I3xR14os. Many thanks in advance
