  1. Thanks guys, the thing that I really like with this car is the dotmatix screen I think it's called, on the display panel, giving you turn by turn instructions. I do close protection so I need to get from A to B quickly and correctly, and not find myself in a dead end or end up heading totally the wrong way. I have a nice garmin sat nav which my navigator normally has, I like my current set up, just wish I could update it. I obviously could use my current sat nav too or buy another one or as suggested a sat nav app on my iPhone, but it's losing the matrix quick reference and heads up without taking eyes off road too much, and I can't really have voice commands as we use radios and things that could drown out commands. Bloody cars!!! Thank you guys, this gives me a lot of ideas to research and see what would suit me the best! Cheers
  2. Sorry guys for being long. The forum doesn't log in properly in my phone and it doesn't notify me when a reply comes, I'm still new to this, sorry. The wheels are off my Blackline vRS and are the standard for that model. I wouldn't accept £250 I'm afraid. They didn't make reserve on eBay (£500) as I stupidly set the auction up at 4am and therefore ended at that time when everyone was asleep so a school boy error there. Got to £360 / £380 or something. I personally think that they are worth £500. Would accept £450 to be totally honest as my new alloys are on and that's a fair price, but I am in no rush to shift then if price isn't right, they are stored out the way. I haven't touched them since coming off my car, so will have to give them a good clean and take some more pics, see if what I advertised is still correct and true.
  3. Thank you again all for the detailed break down of the benefits of the Columbus! Very interesting. Even more interesting about the Bluetooth in the black line. I have a parrot kit but just haven't brought myself to fit it yet, so knowing that there's a good chance I just need it turning on, result. It did surprise me that every time I pressed phone it just muted the radio or whatever, and other friends with VAG cars have the Bluetooth, so I will look into that. Would much prefer to have that than a parrot. Cheers Paul
  4. Thank you guys. Ive been looking at an Alpine Double din too, but I really like my current head unit, just doesnt make sense I cant find a way to update it. Is the columbus THAT much better then? Also, I don't have bluetooth inbuilt in this Amundsen+, does that mean if I got a columbus head unit, is the bluetooth inbuilt, or would it look to an additional unit (in glove box or under seat etc). Really sorry for my total ignorance, I just cant make head or tail of these units, its all foreign to me. Even PDFs just don't answer in plain english what I need to know. Thanks again for all your inputs!
  5. Thank you for your help. I don't currently have bluetooth, just DAB so could be an option then
  6. Thanks for the reply. I hope someone will give the answers. Im finding there are a lot of new roads round my area, and areas that I work in, and they just don't exist on my sat nav, its all well and good firing up my Garmin, but whats the point if I have one inbuilt into the car, just needs an update!! Skoda eh, tut tut
  7. Genuine RARE 2012 18" Skoda Octavia Mk2 vRS Blackline Neptune 2 Alloys £500 RRP £220 each alloy only. High Gloss Black 5x112 stud with ET51. Will fit all MK2 Octavia's with 5x112 studs with or without face lift. The alloys are in great nick, they do NOT have a single curb mark. They do have the general car wash swirls and a few branch / light scratches. But if you got these mopped, they would be near mint. (Closer photos can be requested) Not bent or cracked. You are buying the alloys, but this listing does comes with tyres installed on the alloys. All are 225/40/18R tyres. 2 x Continental Contact 2 - (Original factory fit tyres) On the bump bars so I am saying that they are probably not road legal in the UK. 2 x Continental Contact 5 - Upgraded premium tyres. On or just off the bump bars so are bordering legal / not road legal. Has a screw or something in on of the tyres, but can be plugged if deemed legal. (dont have a mm depth gauge tool to check.) As I said, you are buying the ALLOYS, the tyres are essentially free with the alloys, so what they are, they are. Listing is for LOCAL PICK UP ONLY. But, you can arrange your own professional pickup service / courier service at you own expense after sale. I CAN DELIVER IF YOU LIVE CLOSE TO WINCHESTER / SOUTHAMPTON / HAMPSHIRE AREA. I will need to confirm address before excepting free delivery IF local. Thank you for looking, and any questions please do ask. p.s. This listing is for alloys and tyres that are fitted currently. No fitting kits or studs nor locking nuts of locking wheel nut tool. VIEWINGS ARE WELCOME.
  8. Hey guys, this is my first post. I've been reading the forum for years, but never bothered signing up as I always found the answers I was looking for, way to go peeps! I am on my 3rd Skoda now, and am in a bit of a pickle. I have a 2012 Octavia vRS with Amundsen+ Headunit. I have looked everywhere to update the maps on the unit. Even did a VIN search with Skoda on their website, and came up fruitless :( I found a few posts on here saying click this and that link, and none of them work any more. So, my question is, can I update my 2012 Satnav software to 2016? Even if I have to pay. I just can't find the answers right now. IF, I can't update my maps, WHY THE HELL NOT!? what stupid numpty allowed this to happen. And IF that is the case, can I buy an Octavia III Columbus System, and straight install it into my 2012 Mkii as I know they are able to be updated, and run it without any problems etc. Thank you for reading this, and I hope someone can give me some solid answers. Cheers guys Paul
