  1. Thank-you, that's very clear.
  2. I'm looking for a education, what I can and can't tow, both physically and legally. I have a 150tdi 4x4 Yeti, with factory fit tow bar. What's the maximum braked towing weight? 1800kg or 2100kg? What about unbraked? I got my licence after January 1997 so I'm limited to a maximum combined weight of 3500kg? So taking off ~1500kg for the Yeti would leave ~2000kg? What about unbraked, is there a 750kg limit? What's the significance of 750kg? Pros and cons for braked vs unbraked? Basically, I'd like to be able to tow an 8x4 trailer but if the trailer itself is going to weigh at least 300kg the 750kg limit doesn't leave much for the payload! It would be good to be able to shift ~1000kg of payload.
  3. As title, can I get a double mattress (with springs) into my Yeti?
  4. So the eventual solution was to replace the EGR valve (under warranty). All seems good now. Question is, why was this needed at almost exactly 3 years (following MOT) and 47,000 miles, the vast majority of which were motorway or duel carriage way and virtually every journey is over 13 miles? I do always use Tesco fuel - would using a premium diesel have avoided this issue?
  5. I didn't think my SCR MY16 engine was impacted by the EA189 stuff?
  6. I'm still under warranty.
  7. Well, went back to the dealer today with my exhaust inspection light issue. They said it needed a DPF regen but for some reason it hadn't done it (despite plenty of fast driving including a 20 mile motorway run to dealer). They made it do a regen, warning light went out and off I went. 40 miles later the light is back on. There doesn't seem to be any loss of power though and they are happy for me to continue to drive until the weekend when they'll have it back.
  8. My exhaust inspection light came on today, the day after MOT. MOT also included a software update related to battery efficiency (?). Car still seems to be working fine. Will phone garage tomorrow, any idea what the problem is likely to be? I've a 15 plate, 150 SCR TDI 4x4. 90% fast A-roads, most journeys ~30 mins.
  9. Spoke to them today they said Haldex and brake fluid are both 3 years on my car and to have them done with MOT (July 18). The 40k service this month will be a major service plus A/C.
  10. My Yeti (4x4 2.0 diesel manual 150 SCR) has just hit 40,000 (2.5 years old). To date it's had three services at 10k intervals, the last (minor ~£150) being May last year. So what's meant to happen at 40k? The major (~£280) service? What's the deal with the Haldex 5th gen servicing and brake fluid changes? I'm going the phone the garage in the next day or so but just want to know what they should be saying!
  11. Does that minor (10k/12mths), major (20k/24mths) apply to all Skodas? My Yeti had its first minor service at around 9 months old and 9500 miles. It's now just 13 months old and around 18500 miles - and the dash is claiming an oil service is due. Am I right to wait until 20k and go for a 'major' service?
  12. Mine's Pacific Blue, I think it suits Yeti well - and there was no chance of me paying actual money to change the colour of the car!
  13. More power and greater efficiency than the already popular 1.2 TSI?
  14. Large urban areas is most of us! Certainly enough to be getting on with.
  15. I lied! Went through a dark tunnel yesterday and the dials faded away!
  16. Mine was one of the first, May build and doesn't have it. I guess it's just software, can it be updated?
  17. My F/L SE doesn't do that... at least I've never seen it.
  18. When ordering a new Yeti today, the 2yrs extended warranty is £630 (list price). Is the product you buy at 3yrs different?
  19. My Maxidot over reports by around 9-10%... interestingly the higher the reported efficiency, the larger the error! If yours is similar that 48.9 mpg drops to ~44.7 mpg, still very impressive for the 1.4 TSI.
  20. I have the 150 4x4 SE, spec is fine for me (added DAB, lumber support, fold flat front seat, spare wheel, tow, off-road button). I certainly value the power and 4x4 over bling and toys of the SE L. Over the 12k miles I've driven since new, the true economy is 45.7 mpg (maxidot over reads by around 9% on mine). Best tank I've had is 51.0 mpg.
  21. That seems early. What kind of driving do you do? What's your average fuel consumption like?
  22. I don't understand, I just got my second 1500 mile remaining AdBlue warning at 11,862 miles. That seems perfectly reasonable.
  23. I did wait 30 sec... but why do you think that's a strange mileage?
  24. I ran it until it showed about 600 miles remaining, then added 5 litres. Today I got the second AdBlue warning at 11,862 miles. Assuming it had 9 litres from new, + the 5 litres I added in January, and it'll go another 1500 miles to 13,362, that works out at 954 miles/litre. Skoda suggest 1.5L/1000km or 414 miles/litre, so I'm seeing much lower usage.
  25. I got mine at the start of July, no countdown in Maxidot.
