  1. Thanks Silver, that's what I thought. Fuel and air filter aren't changed until 60,000 miles, so the major service is basically the same as the minor service until that mileage is reached. And, I only replaced the air filter 6 months ago. I'll book it in for the minor service which will easily get me beyond October and the end of the warranty. Then its off to find a friendly local independent for the next service. Thanks again.
  2. Hello all. I haven't been here are a while since selling by Fabia vRS but I have been driving around in Seat Leon FR 184 for the last year or so. So very similar to diesel vRS, and since you all seem like sensible people I thought I'd ask a service question here.... The Leon is due its second variable service, and Seat want £279 as it is classed as a Major Service (every two years / 20,000 miles). Is this about right? The service history is as following Oct 14 - first registered July 2016 - 19,000 miles longlife service Nov 2016 - 25,000 air filter change (self-service) June 2017 - 37,500 miles car says oil and inspection service is due The major service may include fuel filter, air filter replacement but these will not be done until 4 years or 60,000. So what is the benefit of a major service (£280) over a minor service (£170)? The oil is the same for minor / major and minor service is also classed as an inspection service. Seat are unhelpful, and no-one seems to be able to give a definitive answer other that pay our dealers as much money as possible... Should have stuck to fixed servicing as at least it makes sense. Thanks Tim
  3. Springs / dampers (and silver paint / lacquer) provisionally sold. Roof rack provisionally sold.
  4. PD160 intake gone All PMs replied and photos to follow later today.
  5. Well the Fabia vRS has gone but its been replaced by a Leon Fr 184 so you lucky people have the chance to buy some used tat I've now got lying about. PD160 intake pipe (both bits) ---- £60 + £5 postage Both parts included 6LL 129 618 & 6LL 129 621, even comes in the original Seat bag that they were delivered in. OEM roof rack / roof bars ---- £50 collected Used once to take a surfboard to Cornwall for a holiday. Good condition comes with 4 keys, torque hex wrench, instruction manual and some odd strips of rubber... Fabia vRS standard springs and dampers ---- £70 collected Removed after 3 years and 33k miles so plenty of life left in them still. Ideal if you're going back to standard or replacing your tired suspension. Silver fog light surrounds L & R (the painted bits) ---- £10 + £4 postage Taken off and replaced with black ones. Probably not a lot of demand for these. Miscellaneous / deal sweeteners OEM silver paint and lacquer kit / Mann oil filter sealed in box / anything else I find.... I can include one item for free if helps to sweeten any deal. Whilst stock lasts Collection items can be collected from Ipswich or Norwich. Or I'll be traveling from Ipswich to Buttermere, Cumbria, next weekend, so can meet en-route or in the Lakes. I really can't be bothered to arrange postage of the larger items, but I'm happy for you to arrange your own courier if you'd like. Any questions, or if you want photos please ask. Tim
  6. Mines arriving next week I also thought that non Apple stores were only getting a few of each. Apples own website is showing 3-4 weeks, and other online places are OOS. Perhaps Currys got lucky...
  7. 4.3.1 was released yesterday evening. Hopefully you got that....
  8. Get out of your granny ring, you'll go faster :p Looks lovely. Consider yourself lucky to live so near.
  9. To those saying they get xx mpg shown on the dash. The onboard trip computer is wildly inaccurate, anything around 20% inaccuracy is pretty much normal...
  10. I pretty much get 47mpg all year round. TBH I don't feel I drive partially economically, nor on roads that makes the best out of the engine. Generally I drive at 10x the speed of the gear number, i.e 1st = 10mph; 2nd = 20mph; . . . ; 6th = 60mph+
  11. I was about to recommend Sennheiser CX - series, as they really are good headphones, but I see you've vetoed them. I've had a set for over 3 years and have only recently started playing up; not bad considering I use them when running so they're out in all weather and the plug is always jigging about. Trigger PM me a price if you like. Are you sure they're mark II's?
  12. Pay rise? Definitely not. Redundancy? Most likely :(
  13. No issues with them (or their sister company Elephant) but luckily I've never needed to make a claim.
  14. As above, about half price on ebay. I brought some VisionPlus to replace my Xtreme bulbs for £14 inc P&P only a few days back.
  15. I lobbed loads of old phones in the bin the other day, one of them a C35i, if you posted before Christmas I could have sent it to you. Have a look on mobiles.co.uk for cheap PAYG phones. I brought a cheap Nokia to take out running / cycling for £4.99 and it came with £5.00 credit. Total cost -1p.
  16. In answering the question, its makes little difference to me, much the same as when VAT was reduced to 15%, and much the same as when it went back to 17.5%. Fuel is the big one, especially with an extra 7p per liter in duty in April and the possible increase in oil prices. Maybe we'll be seeing diesel at £1.50 a liter this summer.
  17. Its less than that, price goes up 21p per £10 spent. There you go, you just saved yourself 4p
  18. Just checked mine and it works now!?! No excuses for being late to work tomorrow.
  19. Hello Emily. Welcome to the site from another local member. . Felly: Hello, I'm just down the road from you. Hope to see you at the next meet.
  20. Grr, I overslept this morning due to this bug.
  21. I found it easier to remove the black surround, then the remove the silver trim from that once off the car. Its says in your owners manual how to remove the black surround. Just re-read your post. They're both the same.
  22. As you say to a certain extent it doesn't matter which oil you top up with; the fact that your planning on using PD compatible oil can only be beneficial. However more importantly why bother? If its in the hatched area, its within tolerance, so leave it alone.
  23. Shut up Happy Christmas to you and the wife. Hope you have a good one!
  24. No, its not. Or at least it won't be for very long. The PD160 intake is worth about zero horsepower, apparently it reduces smoke and allows the engine to be freer (?) revving. I have one, but I paid pennies. Would I buy on now, nope. Save you money; spend it on beer; buy a cheap easyjet flight... anything really. Happy Christmas all!
