Thanks everybody. I was confident that I would get a good answer from people that use this forum. Better than reading the manual in this case 😊

Thanks, I'll give that a try

I have a 21 plate L&K estate and can't find a way of answering an incoming telephone call other than tapping on the infotainment screen. Previous cars have had a button on the steering wheel but there is not one now. Tapping the screen while driving does not seem to me to be either easy or safe. Am I being particularly stupid and missing something? On the plus side, the change from the 190 diesel to the 280 petrol engine has been fun!

Can I restart this one please? I've had my 280 estate L&K for just over a week so I'm driving it a bit harder than I did my 190 diesel! Every time I take a corner at above about 40mph, there is a ping. Nothing visual appears on the dash. I do wonder if my wife has had some gizmo installed to tell me to slow down! Does anyone have any suggestions?

I realise that my question is not directly related to Waze, but there appears to be a lot of expertise on the VC and navigation so hear goes! I have just taken delivery of my new Superb Estate L&K (with the 280 TSi engine which is really rather good!) so it has the Columbus Infotainment system. My last car was a 19 plate L&K with the TDi 190 engine and that wasn't too slow either!), also with the Columbus. On the older car I could set the sat nav to show a split screen which gave lane indications at junctions. I don't seem to be able to do the same on the new car. Am I missing something?

So, after much thought and realising that my annual mileage is much lower than it has been, I decided to change from the 190 diesel engine to the 280 petrol engine. The colour was the difficult choice but in the end decided on velvet red. So the new car will be a Superb Estate L&K 280 in velvet red. Placing the order gave me a lot of pleasure!

What was your club side? Whatever it was, I'm impressed.

What are the best/most effective/most fun after market accessories that you have on your Superb? My most effective is the rear sill protector on the estate; it was that or declaw the dog! Only just picked up the car so nothing else....yet.

Now he tells me!☹️

Just picked up my 190TDI 4 wd replacing the same car with 2 wd that was 4 years old. The virtual cockpit is fun and the voice control seems to have been improved. But the difference between 2 and 4 wd is remarkable. No problem from a standing start and effortless cornering under power (no, not accelerating, that would just be silly!). I'm beginning to wish that I chosen the 272 petrol engine with 4 wd which would have passed everything except a petrol station. I like a big estate and the only alternative to the Superb is the E class Merc but I really don't want another mortgage at my age!

Anyone made something for their kid(s) you want to show off?

Made the attached for daughter and its nothing like as difficult as it looks. If you want to try I can give you the details of the book that explains how to do it -
I rather doubt that anyone else has spotted that! How, on earth did you recognise that fact? I must say that I am very impressed!

My 190DSG has just has its first oil change at 9,500 miles and the service indicator also tells me that an inspection service is needed at 65.553,500 miles!! Did you ever resolve the issue Mike66?

How does one know if the car is set for fixed or variable service intervals? -

I'm getting the same 404 error. is it possible to contact Skoda to find out what is happening? -

I also suggest the ventilated seats. I have them on my car and they make the seats very comfortable in hot weather. I have not yet tried them with the seat heating turned on since I have only had the car for a couple of weeks

Thanks to all. I knew I could rely on the Forum!

I picked up my L&K Estate 190 TDI DSG yesterday and spent a happy three or four hours learning how everything works..........except for one thing! Can anybody help by suggesting what the "REST" button in the attached picture is for? Restore? Reset? but what?
-
How dare you put such a reasonable post on here!!! Our members are proud of their ability to take offence at any ridiculous suggestions such as you have made. I trust you will behave more appropriately in the future.

just another thought, and I realise that this would be vastly more expensive (but possibly worth it), does anyone know if the well in the Superb III estate will take a full size 19" Phoenix wheel?
-
Gizmo, it's an L&K 190 TDi estate so it sounds like the 16" spare. The dealer has quoted £345 but Skaodaparts.com have the wheel and tools at just under £180
-
Thanks Samo and Prykey. Since I am ignorant of such things, does it not matter that the spare is an 18" rim compared to 19" rims as fitted?
