  1. Hi there, Is this the correct kit for a front wheel on a 2005 Fabia vRS? http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/cp4l/c/Skoda_Fabia_1.9_2006/p/car-parts/car-transmission/transmission-parts/wheel-bearing-and-wheel-hub/?628780100&1&acb68552a572a11ee74c19dae44237d08ab4d0a6&000370 There seems to be a few listed and I'm not sure which one is correct. Many thanks
  2. Hi there, Does anyone have any tips for freeing off the handbrake mechanism/ lever on the rear calipers? The cable is pulling the lever, but it's not moving far enough, hence no handbrake on that side. Have tried WD40 and hitting the lever forward with a hammer and block of wood - didn't move. This is the second time it's happened in a few months. Is there any way of avoiding the problem in future? Many thanks
  3. Does anyone know what size/ pitch the vRS front brake carrier bolts are? Despite using a torque wrench, I've somehow managed to strip one of the carrier threads in the strut. Will need to get it helicoiled etc, but need to know what the bolts are. Many thanks
  4. Do I adjust the wiper linkage, or take each wiper arm off and re-fit in the correct position?
  5. Hi, Had the front wipers on intermittent this morning, and stopped the car when they were half way up the screen. Now the car seems to think this is the park position. Is there any way to reset this? Would turning the car off with them at the bottom, then disconnecting the battery possibly work? Cheers
  6. Cheers for the input chaps. Will switch the blade 180 degrees tomorrow and see how that goes. Fatbloke: I've tried cleaning the screen and wiper blade with AutoGlym glass polish in the past - didn't make any difference.
  7. Apologies if this has been covered before - no doubt it has, but I couldn't find anything when searching. :S What's the best solution for a juddery/ noisy rear wiper? The blade seems in fine condition. Cheers
  8. Ah I see, thanks for the advice. Was a bit confused as I normally get the 'INSP' when it's due a service. Will just reset it as I know when it's due its service. Cheers
  9. Hi there, Started the car up this morning to be greeted with the spanner (same as service indicator?) and the 'OIL' flashing next to it. Checked the oil straight away and it was above the min - topped it back up to the max. I've done two 6/ 7 mile trips today and the spanner and 'OIL' text is still there. The car was serviced in February, so next service isn't due until then. What could be wrong? Cheers
  10. Thanks for the replies. I have just got the car back from the bodyshop - the outside door handle had been removed, so must be related. Will get the lad to have a look at it tomorrow.
  11. Right, it seems the interior door handle has been damaged so it no longer holds the end of the cable. Am I able to buy a new interior door handle or do I need a whole new door card? EDIT: Just answered my own question. I dread to think how much this handle bit costs. :S Thanks again for all the help!
  12. Can't believe my luck - locked the car and just checked by pulling on the outside drivers side door handle. The cable must have disconnected or snapped becuase it now feels loose and doesn't open the door. However, the handle on the inside won't open the door either! How the hell am I supposed to get the door open to get the door card off? Any help appreciated
  13. Much obliged lads - watched the youtube video and was hugely surprised at how easy it comes off.
  14. Just giving this a go now, but I'm having a little trouble getting the window winder off. Does the whole handle just pull off or does it seperate from the round plastic bit which is against the door card? Cheers
  15. Cheers mate - just what I needed. Nice to see a fellow North East member.
